The Error Rate Performance of APK System in the Presence of Interference and Noise (간섭과 잡음의 존재하에서 APK 시스템의 오율 특성)

  • In this paper, the error rate performance of L-level amplitude shift keying (ASK), M-ary phase shift keying (PSK) and amplitude phase keying (APK) systems have been studied in the presence of interference and noise. Using the derived error probability equations, the error rate performance of each L-level ASK and M-ary PSK system has been evaluated in terms of carrier-to-noise power ratio (CNR), carrier-to-interferer power ratio (CIR), and envelope distribution of interferer. These results are combined and then the error rate performance of APK signal has been found. Finally, the error rate performance is compared and discussed.

  • The error rate equations of MPSK and DS/MPSK radio signals transmitted through the m-distributed fading channel in Gaussian noise and tone interference environments have been derived. Using the derived equations, the error rate performance is evaluated and shown as functions of carrier-to-noise ratio, carrier-to-interference ratio, processing gain, fading index and the number of diversity branches. The derivation has been done for two cases. The first case assumes that only the signal is undergoing the influence of fading, and the second case assumes that both signal and interference are undergoing the influence of fading simultaneously. From the obtained results, we have known that the error performance of MPSK signal is improved by using diversity technique and direct sequence spread spectrum technique even in a fading environment. Also comparing the error rate performance of two cases, the latter is worse than the former.

  • The WLAN(IEEE 802.l1b) and Bluetooth(IEEE 802.15.1) employed on 2.4㎓ ISM band wireless networks provide complementary services within the same environments. Coexistence between the networks will be impaired, if the mutual packets are uncertainty associated the timing or gaussian distance. This paper analyzes the impact of the mutual interference on the services performance in order to develope a method of coexistence between the WLAN and Bluetooth. The analysis is illustrated by examining the symbol error rate versus signal to noise interference ratio in terms of the carrier frequency of set.

Low complexity ordered successive interference cancelation detection algorithm for uplink MIMO SC-FDMA system

  • In mobile communication, the most exploratory technology of fifth generation is massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO). The minimum mean square error and zero forcing based linear detectors are used in multiuser detection for MIMO single-carrier frequency division multiple access (SCFDMA). When the received signal is detected and regularization sequence is joined in the equalization of spectral null amplification, these schemes experience an error performance and the signal detection assesses an inversion of a matrix computation that grows into complexity. Ordered successive interference cancelation (OSIC) detection is considered for MIMO SC-FDMA, which uses a posteriori information to eradicate these problems in a realistic environment. To cancel the interference, sorting is preferred based on signal-to-noise ratio and log-likelihood ratio. The distinctiveness of the methodology is to predict the symbol with the lowest error probability. The proposed work is compared with the existing methods, and simulation results prove that the defined algorithm outperforms conventional detection methods and accomplishes better performance with lower complication.

  • In this paper, a channel assignment technique to mitigate interferences due to ISI(Inter Symbol Interference) and ICI(Inter Carrier Interference) caused by TDoA(Time Difference of Arrival) among distributed MRs(Mesh Routers) in OFDMA(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access)-based WMN(Wireless Mesh Network) is proposed. The SINR(Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio) associated with the channel assignment for each MR is defined to minimize the effect of ISI and ICI due to TDoA in WMN, which is then used to propose an channel assignment technique considering fairness constraint. It is verified by computer simulation that the proposed channel assignment technique can improve the performance of BER(Bit Error Rate) in WMNs with compared to the conventional technique.

  • In this paper, 16QAM techniques are described. The evaluated error rate performences are shown in figures as parameters of carrier-to-noise power ratio(CNR), carrier-to-interference power ratio(CIR), impulsive noise index, and Gaussian to impulsive noise power ration. Also, the error rate performances are measured experimentally by hardware system and compared with the theoretical results.

  • In MC-CDMA systems effects of delay spread of the channel are reduced with increased symbol duration by simultaneously transmitting data symbols on the parallel subcarriers. However, the increased symbol duration causes the system to be more vulnerable to time selective fading. In this paper, we investigate the effects of time selective fading characteristics of the mobile channel from the viewpoint of desired signal power to inter-carrier interference power ratio at the combiner output of the MC-CDMA receiver.

  • We propose a filter-free wavelength conversion using a Mach-Zehnder interferometer with monolithically integrated $2{\times}2$ multimode interference semiconductor optical amplifiers (MMI-SOAs). The device has been optimized by considering a non-homogeneous carrier distribution due to the self-imaging properties of the MMI-SOA. Static measurements show an extinction ratio of up to 18 dB and an input signal rejection ratio of up to 20 dB.

  • We have analyzed the effect of multipath cochannel interference and Gaussian noise on binary DPSK systems used in land mobile radio communications. Considering multipath channel as non-selective Rayleigh channel, we have found a gnenral equation for bit error rates (BER) deriving the probability density function (p.d.f) of output of phase detector. The numerical results are shown in graphs and discussed as functions of carrier to noise power ratio (CNR), carrier to interferer power ratio (CIR) and correlation of signal component over the pulse length.

  • The error rate performance of phase shift Keyed(PSK) signal has been evaluated in terms of carrier-to-noise ratio(CNR), carrier-to-interferer ratio(CIR), impulsive index, and the phase difference between signal and interferer in the environment of cochannel PSK inter-ference and impulsive noise. We hays derived a general equation of the probability density function (p.d.f.) of output of coherent phase detector. And the error rate of the received binary PSK(BPSK) signal has been numerically evaluated. The graphic results show us that the best case is the situation of the signal and the inter- ferer meet with orthogonal phase.
