멤브레인형 LNG 수송선 코파담내의 난류 자연대류 (The Turbulent Natural Convection in Membrane Type LNG Carrier Cofferdam)

  • The turbulent natural convection in the membrane type LNG carrier cofferdam with heating points has been studied by numerical method. As the numerical methods, we introduced the three turbulence model, a standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ model and two case of a low Reynolds number models. The parameters considered for this study ore number and capacity of heating points i.e., $1{\leq}Ns{\leq}12$ and $1.0{\times}10^5{\leq}Qs(W/m^3){\leq}1.0{\times}10^8$. The results of the isotherms and velocity vectors have been represented for various parameters. The temperature and velocity at upper position in the space ore shown to be higher than those at lower position. For obtaining the optimal temperatures, $20{\sim}30^{\circ}C$ in the cofferdam space, the heating capacities show $2.0{\times}10^7W/m^3$ at g-heating points and $1.0{\times}10^7W/m^3$ at 12-points. The mean temperature in the cofferdam space can be expressed as a function of number and capacity of heating points.

PIV와 CFD에 의한 LNG선박의 Hood room 환기특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Ventilation Characteristics of LNG Carrier Hood room by PIV and CFD)

  • LNG Carriers are currently known as sole commercial means of shipping natural gas on the sea. They are designed to proven dangerous explosion for shipping a lot of gas over long distance. In this study. In this study, a scaled model chamber was made to investigate ventilation characteristics of the hood room in LNG carrier. Experimental study was performed in model using visualization equipments with laser apparatus and image intensifier CCD camera gated by an AOM controller Twelve different kinds of measuring area were selected as experimental condition. Instant simultaneous velocity vectors at whole field were measured by using 2-D PIV system which software adopts two-frame grey-level cross correlation algorithm. To look into stagnation area of hood room for LNG carrier, a three-dimensional numerical simulation with standard ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ model was carried out by using PHOENICS for three kinds of Reynolds number, $6.5{\times}10^3$, $9.7{\times}10^3\;and\;1.29{\times}10^4$, based on the cavity inlet velocity and cavity height. The flow pattern showed the large scale counter-clockwise forced-vortex rotated at center area, small eddies at each corner and stagnation area located at left-back upper side of model.

  • Saltation occurs in horizontal flow of solid and gas when the carrier gas velocity is small enough to permit enough to settling of the solid particles within the transport line. So we should examine the pneumatic flow system to lessen the unbured carbon in the power plant. In this paper the saltation velocity was studied on the various solid flow rate in the constant pipe diameter and on the various temperatures of the flow gas. The air velocity in the power plant transport lines was also surveyed in order to compare with the saltation velocity. As the solid flow rate increased in the constant diameter, saltation velocity increased and as the temperater of the flow gas inereased in the transport line, saltation velocity also increased.

  • 도립형 OMVPE 반응기를 레이저 라만 분광법을 사용하여 조사하였다. 운반기체인 질소나 수소의 순수한 회전 라만 분산 스펙트럼을 통해 반응기 내부의 축 중심 방향의 온도 분포를 정확히 측정할 수 있었다. 주입 기체의 유속과 반응기의 종횡비가 변수로 변화되었으며 실험결과, 기판 표면 근처의 수직방향 온도 구배를 크게 유지하기 위해서는 보다 빠른 기체 유속의 사용, 보다 큰 반응기 종횡비의 사용, 그리고 질소의 사용이 유리함을 알 수 있었다.

  • It has been observed that the reduction rate of the inversion layer carrier mobility due to the increase of the longitudinal electric field(drain to source direction) decreases as the transverse electric field increases. The effects of this physicar phenomenon to the I-V characteristics of the short channel NMOSFET are studied. It is shown that these effects increase the drain Current in the saturatio region, which agrees with the genarally observed decrepancy between the experimental I-V charateristics and the I-V modeling which dose not include this physical phenomenon. Also it is shown that this effect becomes more important when the device channel length decreases and the device operates in the high electric field range.

  • The OLED research is gone for two directions. One is material development research, and another one is structural improvement part. All two are thing to heighten luminescence efficiency of OLED. n other to improve luminescence efficiency of OLED Electron - hole pairs must consist much more in the device Their profiles are sensitive to mobility velocity of electrons and holes. In this paper, we demonstrate the difference of velocity between hole and electron by experiments, and compare with a data of simulation and experiment changing hole carrier transport layer thickness, so we get the optimal we improve luminescence efficiency. We suggest improving the efficiency of OLEDS would be to balance the injection of electrons and holes into light emission layer of the device. And, we improve understanding of the various luminescence efficiency through experiments and numerical analysis of luminescence efficiency in variable hole carrier transport layer's thickness.

  • The studies on OLED(Organic Light-Emitting Diode) materials and structures have been researched in other to improve luminescence efficiency of OLED. Electrons and holes are injected into the devices, transported across the layer and recombine to form excitons, their profiles are sensitive to mobility velocity of electrons and holes. A suggested means of improving the efficiency of LEDs would be to balance the injection of electrons and holes into light emission layer of the device. In this paper, we demonstrate the difference of velocity between hole and electron by experiments, and compare with a data of simulation and experiment changing hole carrier transport layer thickness, so we get the optimal we improve luminescence efficiency.   • Chemical Mechanical Polishing(CMP) is popularly used in production of semiconductor because of large area polishing ability probability of improvement for more integrated circuit. However, present CMP processing causes some non-uniformity errors which can be critical for highly integrated circuit. Previous studies predict that flow-field of slurry during CMP can create non-uniformity, but no quantitative measurement has conducted. In this study, using PIV, slurry velocity flow-field during CMP is measured by changing the ratio of RPM of pad and carrier with tuned PIV system adequate for small room in CMP machine and Cabot's non-groove pad Epad-A100. The result show that velocity of slurry is majorly determined by pad-rpm and the ratio of between carrier and pad rpm make some changes in streamlines.

  • Effects of magnetic field and carrier gas velocity on the magnetic separation of FCC catalyst by a high gradient magnetic separator were studied. The activities of the equilibrium catalyst, the magnetic particles and the nonmagnetic particles were evaluated in a fixed bed microreactor The results showed that heavy metal contaminated catalyst can be selectively separated by means of high gradient magnetic separation at magnetic field 0.5T and carrier gas velocity 0.3m.s$^{-1}$ , and lightly metal contaminated catalyst retained high catalytic activity.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop the model of turbulence modulation due to the presence of particles in various types of particle-laden flows Available experimental data are surveyed and the dependence of turbulence modulation of carrier-phase on particle size, concentration and. particle Reynolds number are examined. This study takes into account the effect of wake produced by particle, the drag between phases and the velocity gradient in the wake to estimate the production of turbulence. The model of turbulence modulation using the mixing length theory under the assumption of equilibrium flow is proposed. Numerical results show that the model is successful in predicting the characteristics of the particle-laden in various flow conditions both qualitatively and quantitatively.
