Purpose - This study is to propose discriminative management strategies to long-term care facilities based on the empirical analysis after reviewing the effects of social support, perceived by long-term care facility employees, to service orientation. Research design, data, and Methodology - The research model designed social support, job stress, organizational commitment, and service orientation. The survey collected data from 453 customers in a long-term care facility in jeju. The SPSS 18.0 package was used for analysis. Results - First, social support for long-term care facility employees has a negative(-) effect to job stress. Test results, social support factors except appraisal support had a negative impact on job stress. Second, social support has a positive(+) effect to organizational commitment. Test results, informational support, tangible support and appraisal support had significant effects on organizational commitment. However, emotional support had a positive impact on affective commitment and normative commitment. Third, social support has a positive(+) effect to service orientation. Test results had a positive impact. Fourth, job stress has a negative(-) effect to organizational commitment. In the test results, employee's continuance commitment and normative commitment had significant negative effects in job stress. However, affective commitment had no significant impact. Fifth, job stress has a negative(-) effect to service orientation. Test results showed a negative impact. Conclusions - The study implies the following. First, that there should be a change in the social perception of long-term care facilities. 'Long-Term Care Insurance for The Elderly' was enacted to emphasize this responsibility for the elderly problems as a new system. Enactment of this Act was expected to improve the quality of life of the people by stabilizing the elderly life and reducing the burden of families. Therefore, long-term care facility system should be as efficient as possible for making plans for systematic and organizational support. Second, the efforts of facility managers to minimize job stress of employees is necessary. Accordingly, performing spontaneous work is required for a comfortable working environment and management. Third, the systematic education and training to employees for service oriented behavior of the facility will be required in the long term.
Objectives : To evaluate the effect of heath examination program which introduce web-based input system, OCS(Order communicating system) and interface with national health insurance corporation, this study was done. Method : To Exam/Order and tests separately at anytime, the experimental health examination program which had web-based questionnaire input system, on-line measurement input system, interface program with national health insurance corporation and introduced OCS was developed. Experiment and old examination program were compared in terms of satisfaction and cost. Result : The 95.7% of respondents were satisfied with web-based input system, the 95.4% satisfied with OCS use, and 97.8% satisfied with test at anytime they want. The cost and time reduction between experiment and old program were 4,159,000won and $600.3{\pm}5.75$(seconds) per man input-time. Conclusion : The experimental health examination program is good for employee and hospital. If the health examination program for non-employee will be developed, it will be done efficiently and effectively, but Internet securities will be considered.
This study was designed to develop the strategy plans for the customer satisfaction on foodservice in the senior care facilities. For this, we examined the level of the customer satisfaction and foodservice quality. Additionally, the association between service quality, customer satisfaction, and social, psychological, physical factors of the aged were tested. Data from convenience samples from 3 senior care facilities were collected by using a questionnaire. Exploratory factor analyses were completed on 20 attributes for the food and service quality and 7 items for the social and psychological states of the aged, respectively. Cronbach's a was estimated for reliability, and Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis were used for statistical analyses. The level of the satisfaction on foodservice was 4.01 of 5.0. The satisfaction on foodservice did not show the significant differences by gender, education level, BMI, and socio-psychological satisfaction. But the foodservice quality and the satisfaction showed significant difference by income and physical problem, and the goal of life of the eldely, respectively. Multiple regression analyses revealed that the determinants of the customer satisfaction on foodservice were the core quality of product, confidence, professionalism of employees and secondary quality of products. Especially, the kindness of employee is the most important attribute of the foodservice. Based on these results, we can set the strategy plans as follow: (1) the introduction of the foodservice evaluation system (2) the deployment of the event activities for offering fun to the customer (3) the continuous training of employees for ensuring the professional and kind service system, and (4) the introduction of selective menu system and take-out service of menu.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate food sanitation training program for the improvement of food service operation in day-care centers. Subjects consisted of 55(experimental) and 25(control) foodservice employees and 33(experimental) and 20(control)directors. The results of this study can be summarized as follow: 1. The majority of child care directors(55.0%(control), 46.9%(experimental)) received food sanitation education but 70% of control and 75.7% of experimental group did not conduct any practical sanitation training for employees. 2. The employee's food sanitary practices of control and experimental did not show any significant difference at the pre-test level but only the experimental group showed a significant improvement at the post-test level. 3. The sanitary knowledge of food service employees between two groups did not show any significant difference at the pre-test level, but a significant knowledge improvement was observed at the post-test level such as food poisoning concepts and sanitary equipment maintenance only in experimental group. 4. Dicrectors' sanitary practices affected the employees' sanitary practices but directors' food sanitary knowledge did not have much influence on the employees' knowledge.

Background: University health services have provided comprehensive medical care, counseling, health promotion, and public health services to their students and several other local institutions. To their faculty and staff, university health care centers have served occupational health services and employee assistant program. Purpose: We performed this study to review the health promotion services on two kinds of health care center with different style of university formate. Methods: We tried to collect the data by literature review and interview with executive and provider at health care center in University of California at Berkeley and San Jose State University. Results: Our results were as followed. First, students could use the medical services just as they would their regular doctor's office and urgent care center. Second, the health promotion unit offered programs and services for keeping students healthy and safe, including many opportunities for students to get involved in shaping the public health of the campus. Third, the health promotion recommendation offered from ACHA was useful guideline to improve health status of their member in university campus. Finally, the student satisfaction surveys were used for evaluation and quality improvement. Conclusions: The systematic approach to improve health status of students, faculty and staff can use to maintain a state of optimum health among the diverse student community in support of academic excellence. Coupled with health promotion and public health programs, university health service have to reach all segments of the healthy campus community. To achieve study goals in university, the health care center contributes to promote accountability and responsibility for the health and well being of the members in their campus.
The price of the hospitals' services is regulated by the governmental health insurance reimbursement schedule in Korea. On the other hand, the emphasis on the quality of care of hospitals service is ever increasing. Under the environment, hospitals have to understand the effects of the activities to improve quality of care on efficiency and on financial performance so that they develop a management strategy that allows quality of care, operational efficiency, and financial achievement simultaneously. This study investigates the relationship among the concepts. The sample for the study includes 23 hospitals that have more than 300 beds. The concept of quality of care is measured by the score reported by the Hospital Standardization Survey (HSS) instituted by Korean Hospital Association. Efficiency is measured by the ratio of number of employee to the number of patients served. Financial performance is measured by the financial ratios indicating the profitability of a hospital. An analysis is performed using the multiple regression. The results show significant positive relationships between the HSS score and efficiency indicators, md between the HSS score and profit measures. However, the significant positive relationship between the HSS score and profit measures disappeared when efficiency indicators were introduced to the model. This study concludes that the structural quality of a hospital has a positive effect on efficiency of the hospital and that the structural qualify indirectly affects the financial performance of a hospital through the improvement of efficiency. Based on the findings, the implications on hospital management and health policy are discussed.

Purpose : This study aimed to identify the job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention of workers at dementia care centers, and the correlations between these factors. Methods : A survey of 131 dementia care center employees was conducted. This comprised 48 questions covering respondent characteristics, organizational satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention. Results : Employees with no intention to change jobs had significantly higher job satisfaction and organizational commitment than those with job change intentions. Turnover intention was significantly correlated with both job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The higher the organizational commitment and the lower the turnover intention, the higher the job satisfaction. The higher the job satisfaction and the lower the turnover intention, the higher the organizational commitment. Analysis of the sub-components of the main variables found The lower the work environment, compensation, and sense of belonging to the organization, the higher the turnover intention. Conclusion : Regular educational programs are needed to improve the expertise of workers at the dementia care center, and opportunities for employees to communicate their needs should be maximized. In addition, higher salaries will attract more able and willing employees, reduce turnover, and provide and a sense of of belonging to the organization. Attention to the proper distribution of work and recruitment of appropriate human resources will further improve the working environment. If the job satisfaction and organizational commitment of workers at the dementia care center are increased and the number of employees intending to change jobs is reduced, the length of employee service will increase and contribute to improved care and service quality for dementia patients.
A study on the status of sickness and medical care of insured and non-insured groups of employee and his family in Naju fertilizer company, in the year of 1973, was carried out. The results obtained are as follows: 1. 66.8% of all employee was subscribed in this medical insurance program. No woman employee was subscribed and the rate of subscription was increased from 16.1% to 92.0% by age increases. 2. Also, as of period of service, the rate of subscription was increased from 11.3% to 89.4% by the period gets longer. 3. Employee who reside within boundary of the company (76.2%) subscribed more than that whom reside outside boundary (63.9%). 4. Rate of subscription was also indreased by family size becomes larger. In case of single, it was only 19.6% but in the case of family size became more than 6, it increased to 87.4%, 5. As of amount of monthly income, although no one had subscribed those who get less than 30,000 won a month. Subscriber, increased by monthly income get greater. 6. Subscribed family reside within company boundary utilized hospital 35.5 times a year whereas non-subscribed family reside within these utilized 12.5 times. And, subscribed family reside outside boundary utilized hospital 32.2 times a year and non-subscribed family utilized 9.6 times. Regardless of resident area, family who subscribed to this program utilized hospital more often than non-subscribed family. 7. The utilization of the hospital became gradually frequent from 15.6 times to 36.5 times per family by family size became larger. but in non-subscribed group, although it was increased from 8.3 times to 16.5 times per family, it was droped to the least 6.9 times at 2 person family. 8. 17,496 hospital visits were made by all employee and his family in the year 1973. 86.9% of them was made by subscribed group and the rest (13.1%) was made by non-subscribed group. Observing of the type of these sickness by the classification of WHO, only three types of VII (26.7%), XVII (25.0%) and IX(19.3%) were made more often by non-subscribed group while the others were made more by subscribed group. 9. Anual average medical expenditure per family was 13,098.9 won for subscribed family while it was 3,076.1 won for non-subscribed family. 10. Anual average hospital visits per capita was 6.5 times for subscribed groups and 3.4 times for non-subscribed group. Anual average medical expenditure per capita was 2,580.8 won for subscribed group while it was 1,061.0 won for non-subscribed one.
This study is to confirm the effects of COVID-19 stress and patient-related social stress (unreasonable demand, aggression) on emotional exhaustion and patient-friendly orientation. In addition, it is to confirm the role of moderating variables in the relationship between the meaning of work of health care providers and patient-related stress caused by COVID-19 and emotional exhaustion. Data were collected through an online survey targeting health care service providers, and the final 219 copies were used for analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that corona stress is a factor that increases emotional burnout for health care providers. In the case of patient-related stress, it was confirmed that the patient's unreasonable demands increased emotional exhaustion, but aggression did not show statistically significant results. These research results can provide not only theoretical implications for health care service quality improvement, but also managerial implications for preparing plans for internal employee management.

This study analyzed the factors related to the job satisfaction and turnover rate of students in the skin care contract department, and suggested ways to enhance long-term employee retention. Frequency analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed using the SPSS statistical program and based on the survey data of 260 skin care contract students. The main results were as follows. First, contract students had high job satisfaction because of sufficient in-service training during the internship and also received the authority to perform the job duties of their positions. Second, the regular technical education for the job of contract students gave them confidence in job performance and job confidence, which led to long-term employee retention. Third, contractual students' turnover was reduced by applying compensation such as incentives, awards, and promotion opportunities in accordance with their work performance. Therefore, the results of the study suggest that compensation based on job performance, and the confidence in job performance of skin care contract students, can lead to increased job satisfaction, a reduced turnover rate and better long-term employee retention.
