In this study, the applicability of CCMs (Carbondioxide conversion capture materials) manufactured by reacting carbon dioxide gas with DG (Desulfurization gypsum) as a cement substitute for secondary concrete products were evaluated and the basic physical properties of CCMs-mixed mortar and concrete specimens were measured to derive the optimal mixing ratio. The main chemical oxides of CCMs were CaO and SO3, and the main crystalline phases were CaSO4·2H2O, Ca(OH)2, CaCO3, and CaSO4. In addition, by the results of particle size analysis and heavy metal measurement, the applicability of CCMs as a cement substitute for secondary concrete products was confirmed. As a result of measuring the strength behavior using mortar and concrete specimens with CCMs, the compressive and flexural strength decreased as the mix ratio of CCMs increased, but requirements by the standards for interlocking blocks and retaining wall blocks, which are target products in this study, were satisfied up to the optimal mixing ratio of 10 wt.% substitution. Therefore, its applicability as a cement substitute for secondary concrete products was confirmed.

The purpose of this paper was to investigate the reforming characteristics and optimum operating condition of the GlidArc-assisted $C_3H_8$ reforming reaction for the synthesis gas(SynGas) production without formation of carbon black from propane using GildArc plasma reforming. Also, in order to increase the hydrogen production and the propane conversion rate, 13 wt % nickel catalyst was filled into the catalytic reactor and parametric screening studies were conducted, in which there were the variations of vapor mole ratio$(H_2O/C_3H_8),\;CO_2$ mole ratio($CO_2/C_3H_8$), input power and injection flow rate. When the variations of vapor mole ratio, $CO_2$ mole ratio, input power and injection flow rate were 1.86, 0.48, 1.37 kW and 14 L/min, respectively, the conversion rate of the propane reached its most optimal condition, or 62.6%. Under the condition mentioned above, the dry basic concentrations of the SynGas were $H_2\;44.4%,\;CO\;18.2%,\;CH_4\;11.2%,\;C_2H_2\;2.0%,\;C_3H_6\;1.6%,\;C_2H_4\;0.6%\;and\;C_3H_4$ 0.4%. The conversion rate of carbon dioxide was 29.2% and the concentration ratio of hydrogen to carbon monoxide($H_2/CO$) in the SynGas was 2.4.

LFG (Land-Fill Gas) includes components of $CH_4$, $CO_2$, $O_2$, $N_2$, and water. The preparation of synthesis gas from LFG as a DME (Dimethyl Ether) feedstock was studied by methane reforming of $CO_2$, $O_2$ and steam over NiO-MgO-$CeO_2$/$Al_2O_3$ catalyst. Our experiments were performed to investigate the effects of methane conversion and syngas ratio on the amount of LFG components over NiO-MgO-$CeO_2$/$Al_2O_3$ catalyst. Results were obtained through the activity reaction experiments at the temperature of $900^{\circ}C$ and GHSV of 4,000. The results were as following; it has generally shown that methane conversion rate increased with the increase of oxygen and carbon dioxide amounts. Highly methane conversion of 92~93% and syngas ratio of approximately 1.0 were obtained in the feed of gas composition flow-rate of 243ml/min of $CH_4$, 241ml/min of $CO_2$, 195ml/min of $O_2$, 48ml/min of $N_2$, and 360ml/min of water, respectively, under reactor pressure of 15 bar for 50 hrs of reaction time. Also, it was shown that catalyst deactivation by coke formation was reduced by excessively adding oxygen and steam as an oxidizer of the methane reforming.

The recycling technology by the catalytic conversion is one of the most promising techniques for the $CO_2$ treatment of coal burning power plant flue gases. The conversion of $CO_2$ to valuable product of $CH_4$ can be used as a fuel to run the turbine for electricity generation. Through this technique, the amount of coal needed for the combustion in a gas turbine can be reduced as well as $CO_2$ emissions. Therefore, a series of catalysts based on cerium oxide doped with copper, nickel and manganese were prepared by impregnation method. From the characterization analysis, it showed that the prepared catalysts calcined at $400^{\circ}C$ were amorphous in structure with small particle size in the range below 100 nm. Meanwhile, the catalyst particles were aggregated and agglomerated with higher surface area of $286.70m^2g^{-1}$. By increasing the calcination temperature of catalysts to $1000^{\circ}C$, the particle sizes were getting bigger (> 100 nm) and having moderate crystallinity with lower surface area ($67.90m^2g^{-1}$). From the catalytic testing among all the prepared catalysts, Mn/Ce-75/$Al_2O_3$ calcined at $400^{\circ}C$ was assigned as the most potential catalyst which gave 49.05% and 56.79% $CO_2$ conversion at reaction temperature of $100^{\circ}C$ and $200^{\circ}C$, respectively.
Hydrothermal synthesis was conducted with starting material as Barium hydroxide and hydrous titania ($TiO_2{\cdot}xH_2O$) to obtain barium titanate fine Powder. The conversion, crystal structure and properties of as-prepared powder were investigated according to reaction temperature, time and concentration. The effect of variables on conversion was in order of time < temperature < concentration and the maximum conversion reached to 99.5% in the case of hydrothermal synthesis at $180^{\circ}C$ for 2 h with 2.0 M reactant concentration. At low concentration such as 0.25 M, formation of unreacted $BaCO_3$ and $TiO_2$ was not inevitable at even high reaction temperature and these components converted into $BaTi_2O_5$ at high temperature and remained as impurity. As concentration of reactant increased, the size of as-synthesized $BaTiO_3$ powder deceased and Ba/Ti molar ratio approached into 1, showing Ba/Ti ratio of $1{\pm}0.005$ for reaction at $180^{\circ}C$ for 2 h with 2.0 M concentration.
The aromatic organic solvents(BTX) were decomposed in the fixed bed reactor packed with a 0.5% $Pt/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ catalyst, then, supercritical carbon dioxide(SC-$CO_2$) was used as the reaction media. And the conversion was dependent on the inlet concentration of BTX and the molar density of SC-$CO_2$. The conversion of BTX was decreased with increasing of inlet concentration, and was increased with temperature and pressure. The maximum conversion of benzene was 98.5% at $300^{\circ}C$ and 204.1 atm, and that of toluene and xylene were 82.0 and 76.5%, respectively, at $350^{\circ}C$ and 204.1 atm. The intermediate products of partial oxidation were identified as benzaldehyde, phenol, benzenemethanol, and so on. The BTX can be effectively converted into harmless $CO_2$ and $H_2O$ at appropriate operating condition. Thus, the nontoxic recovery process was suggested as the removal method of BTX.

The power to gas (P2G) is one of the energy storage technologies that can increase the storage period and storage capacity compared to the existing battery type. One of P2G technologies produces hydrogen by decomposing water from renewable energy (electricity) and the other produces $CH_4$ by reacting hydrogen with $CO_2$. The objective of this study is the reaction of $CO_2$ methanation which synthesized methane by reacting carbon dioxide and hydrogen. The effect of $CO_2$ conversion and $CH_4$ selectivity on reaction temperature, pressure, and methane contents over 40% Ni catalyst was mainly investigated throughout this study. As a result, the activity of this catalyst appeared to be the highest in $CH_4$ yield at around $400^{\circ}C$ and the selectivity of $CH_4$ increased with increasing reaction pressure. The methane content was not significantly influenced below 3% of all componets. As the space velocity increases from 10,000 to 30,000/hr, the $CO_2$ conversion rate tends to decrease.
In this study, we synthesized a combination of graphene oxide (GO) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) and confirm that GO can be used for CO2 photoreduction. TiO2 exhibited highly efficient combination with other conventional electric charges generated by these paration phenomenon for suppression of hole-electron recombination. This improved the efficiency of CO2 photoreduction. The synthetic form of GO-TiO2 used in this study was agraphene sheet surrounded by TiO2 powder. Efficiency and stability were enhanced by combination of GO and TiO2. In a CO2 photoreduction experiment, the highest CO conversion rate was 0.652 μmol/g·h in GO10-TiO2 (2.3-fold that of pure TiO2) and the highest CH4 production rate was 0.037 μmol/g·h in GO0.1-TiO2 (2.4-fold that of pure TiO2). GO enhances photocatalytic efficiency by functioning as a support and absorbent, and enabling charge separation. With increasing GO concentration, the CH4 level decreases to~45% due to decreased transfer of electrons. In this study, TiO2 together with GO yielded a different result than the normal doping effect and selective CO2 photoreduction.

Global warming due to greenhouse gas emissions is considered as a major problem worldwide, and many countries are making great efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Many technologies in post-combustion, pre-combustion and oxy-fuel combustion $CO_2$ capture have been developed. Among them, a hybrid pre-combustion $CO_2$ capture system of a water gas shift (WGS) reactor and a membrane gas separation unit was investigated. The 2 stage WGS reactor integrated high temperature shift (HTS) with a low temperature shift (LTS) was used to obtain a higher CO conversion rate. A Pd/Cu dense metal membrane was used to separate $H_2$ from $CO_2$ selectively. The performance of the hybrid system in terms of CO conversion and $H_2$ separation was evaluated using a 65% CO, 30 % $H_2$ and 5% $CO_2$ gas mixture for applications to pre-combustion $CO_2$ capture. The experiments were carried out over the range of WGS temperatures ($200-400^{\circ}C$), WGS pressures (0-20bar), Steam/Carbon (S/C) ratios (2.5-5) in a feed gas flow rate of 1 L/min. A very high CO conversion rate of 99.5% was achieved with the HTS-LTS 2 stage water gas shift reactor, and 83% $CO_2$ was concentrated in the retentate using the Pd/Cu membrane.

Cogeneration is an energy conversion process, where electricity and useful heat are produced simultaneously in one process. Also, carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced as well. The cogeneration process may be based on the use of steam, gas turbines or combustion engines. However, there have been few models with an output of less than 100 kilowatt. In the present study, a spark ignited gas engine with generation output of 10 kilowatts was developed for micro cogeneration package. The gas engine shows 29.2$\%$ of thermal efficiency under Stoichiometric combustion and 33.6$\%$ of thermal efficiency under lean combustion. NOx emission shows less than 10ppm at 13$\%$ oxygen under stoichiometric combustion and about 100ppm at 13$\%$ oxygen under lean combustion.
