The present paper deals with the continuous work of extending multi-dimensional limiting process (MLP), which has been quite successfully proposed on two- and three-dimensional structured grids, onto the unstructured grids. The basic idea of the present limiting strategy is to control the distribution of both cell-centered and cell-vertex physical properties to mimic a multi-dimensional nature of flow physics, which can be formulated as so called the MLP condition. The MLP condition can guarantee a high-order spatial accuracy without yielding spurious oscillations. Recently, MLP slope limiter was proposed based on the MUSCL-type reconstruction in two-dimensional case and it can be readily extended to three-dimensional case. Through various numerical analyses and extensive computations, it is observed that the proposed limiters are quite effective in controlling numerical oscillations and very accurate in capturing both discontinuous and continuous multi-dimensional flow features on 3-D tetrahedral grids.
Despite the high cost of memory and CPU time required to resolve the boundary layer, a viscous unstructured grid solver has many advantages over a structured grid solver such as the convenience in automated grid generation and vortex capturing by solution adaption. In present study, an unstructured Cartesian grid solver is developed on the basis of the existing Euler solver, NASCART-GT. Instead of cut-cell approach, immersed boundary approach is applied with ghost cell boundary condition, which can be easily applied to a moving grid solver. The standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ model by Launder and Spalding is employed for the turbulence modeling, and a new wall function approach is devised for the unstructured Cartesian grid solver. Developed approach is validated and the efficiency of the developed boundary condition is tested in 2-D flow field around a flat plate, NACA0012 airfoil, and axisymmetric hemispheroid.

In this paper, we explained characteristics of integral imaging microscope using point light source. To display the bio-medical information, which is captured as a form of the elemental images, using autostereoscopic displays, the characteristics analysis of three-dimensional information is required. For integral imaging microscope using point light source array, the elemental image capturing configuration has to satisfy a specific condition. We explain the condition to capture the elemental images and show the experimental results.

Because Image on the CRT change under different illuminants, human is difficult to see original color of object. If what is information of used illuminant on capturing object know, image can be transformed according to viewing condition using the linear matrix method. To know information of used illuminant at an image, the spectral radiance of illuminant can be estimated using the linear model of Maloney and Wandell form an image. And then image can be properly transformed it using color appearance model. In this paper, we predict the spectral radiance of illuminant using spectral power distribution of specular light and using surface spectral reflectance at maximum gray area. and then we perform visual experiments for the corresponding color reproduction according to viewing condition. In results, we ensure that the spectral radiance of illuminant at an image can be well estimated using above algorithms and that human visual system is 70% adapted to the monitor's white point and 30% to ambient light when viewing softcopy images.

In this paper, an Euler equation solver based on a Cartesian-grid method and non-uniform staggered grid system is applied to predict the ship motion response and added resistance in waves. Water, air, and solid domains are identified by a volume-fraction function for each phase and in each cell. For capturing the interface between air and water, the tangent of hyperbola for interface capturing (THINC) scheme is used with a weighed line interface calculation (WLIC) method. The volume fraction of solid body embedded in a Cartesian-grid system is calculated by a level-set based algorithm, and the body boundary condition is imposed by volume weighted formula. Added resistance is calculated by direct pressure integration on the ship surface. Numerical simulations for a Wigley III hull and an S175 containership in regular waves have been carried out to validate the newly developed code, and the ship motion responses and added resistances are compared with experimental data. For S175 containership, grid convergence test has been conducted to investigate the sensitivity of grid spacing on the motion responses and added resistances.

For the purpose of investigating the effective removal of heating/cooling load from light-weighted building envelope, two air-conditioning systems, conventional parameter air-conditioning system and air-barrier system, are evaluated and compared by both experiment and simulation with six different cases during heating and cooling season. In addition, the characteristics of window-side building thermal load are assessed by varying supply air velocity in order to seek the optimal system operation condition. The results are as follows. 1) Air-barrier system is more effective to remove heating/cooling load at perimeter zone than conventional parameter air-conditioning system. Moreover, the better effectiveness appears during cooling season than during heating season. 2) The experiment during cooling season provides that indoor temperature of air-barrier system shows $1^{\circ}C$ less than that of the conventional system with similar outdoor air temperature profile, and indoor temperature distribution is more uniform throughout the experimented model space. It concludes that air-barrier system can achieve energy saving comparing to the conventional system. 3) The capturing efficiency of air-barrier system is 0.47 on heating season and 0.2 on cooling season with the same supply air volume. It results that the system performs effectively to remove building thermal load, moreover demonstrates high efficiency during cooling season. 4) The simulation results provide that capturing efficiency to evaluate the effective removal of building load from perimeter zone shows high value when supply air velocity is 1 m/s.
For this research an extension of the LIF technique that the LIEF(Laser Induced Exciplex Fluorescence) technique has been used LIEF technique is the unique method to allows the visualization of fuel vapor phase and liquid phase individually by capturing each signals of them. In this work performed that the basic procedure for advanced LIEF technique using TEA and benzene as dopants md high power KrF excimer laser to excite the dopants. Iso-octane is used as the fuel because it does not absorb light at the laser wavelength. The boiling point of benzene and TEA are $81^{\circ}C\;and89^{\circ}C$, respectively, in comparison to $99^{\circ}C$ for iso-octane. It is observed that the behavior and distribution of high pressed fuel injection from various test condition. The injection pressure is set as 3MPa. and 5MPa. And the ambient pressure of test chamber is atmospheric pressure and 1MPa, the ambient temperature of chamber is room temperature, $300^{\circ}C\;and\;500^{\circ}C$ to imitate the condition of GDI engine cylinder.

In this study, the heat transfer augmentation without additional blower power was obtained by using punched plate. Though this scheme has some disadvantages such as decrease of momentum caused by the punched plate, it has significantly increased heat transfer coefficients in the stagnation region. Compared with the case of no punched plate, heat transfer coefficients were increased by punched plate more than 2 times near the optimum condition determined in this study. Liquid crystal and hue-capturing technique were used in this study to obtain heat transfer coefficients.
Accurate simulation of jet plume exhausting into the open space as well as onto the opposing wall is of interest both numerically and physically; the latter, from a system designer's point of view. In the current work, Navier-Stokes computation is undertaken to capture the flow pattern of a supersonic jet impinging onto a rectangular duct which deflects the vertical jet horizontally. Of particular interest are the flow structure in the jet exhaust area, pressure pattern and the magnitude of pressure force at the bottom wall. Usefulness of present characteristic boundary condition applied at the exiting plane of the duct is demonstrated by capturing such complex flow structures for different lengths of the deflection duct.
This paper proposes a novel sensorless maximum power point tracking (11PPT) algorithm for PV systems. The method is based on dividing the operating time into several intervals in which the PV terminals are short circuited in one interval and the calculated short-current of the PV is obtained and used to determine the optimum operating point where the maximum output power can be obtained. The proposed MPPT algorithm has been introduced into a current-controlled boost converter whose duty ratio is controlled to the maintain MPP condition. The same sequence is then repeated regularly capturing the PV maximum power. The main advantage of this method is eliminating the current sensor. Meanwhile, this MPPT algorithm reduces the power oscillations around the peak power point which occurs with perturbation and observation algorithms. In addition, the total cost will decrease by removing the current sensor from the PV side. Finally, simulation results confirm the accuracy of the proposed method.
