  • Multiplexing information over parallel data channels based on RF MIMO concept is possible to achieve considerable data rates over large transmission ranges with just a single transmitting element. Visual multiplexing MIMO techniques will send independent streams of bits using the multiple elements of the light transmitter array and recording over a group of camera pixels can further enhance the data rates. The proposed system is a combination of the reliance on computer vision algorithms for tracking and OOK cell frame modulation. LED array are controlled to transmit message in the form of digital information using ON-OFF signaling with ON-OFF pulses (ON = bit 1, OFF = bit 0). A camera captures image frames of the array which are then individually processed and sequentially decoded to retrieve data. To demodulated data transmission, a motion tracking algorithm is implemented in OpenCV (Open source Computer Vision library) to classify the transmission pattern. One of the most advantages of proposed architecture is Computer Vision (CV) based image analysis techniques which can be used to spatially separate signals and remove interferences from ambient light. It will be the future challenges and opportunities for mobile communication networking research.

  • Artificial Heart Valve is the one of the most important artificial organ which has been implanted to many patients. The most important problems related to the artificial heart valve prosthesis are thrombosis and hemolysis. Usual method to test against this problem in vivo experiment, which is complex and hard work. Nowadays the request for In vitro Artificial Heart Valve testing system is increasing. Several papers has announced us flow pattern of Artificial Heart Valve is highly correlated with thrombosis and hemolysis. They usually gel flow pattern by LDA, it is also hard work and has narrow measuring region. In this reason we have determined to develop PTV(Particle Tracking Velocimetry). By using High-speed camera and image processing technique, flow pattern could be relatively easily obtained. Parachute and Bileaflet Artificial Heart Valve designed by SNU were testified.

  • The limited number of roads and the increasing number of vehicles demand the automatic regulation of overspeed vehicles, illegal vehicles, and overloaded vehicles and the automatic charge calculation depending on the type of the vehicle. To meet such requirements, it is important to remove the shadow of the vehicle as processing and recognizing an image captured by a camera. The shadow of the vehicle is likely to cause misclassification of the vehicle type due to diverse errors and mistakes occurring when detecting geometrical properties of the vehicle. In case that shadows of two different vehicles are overlapped, not only the type of the vehicles may be misclassified but also it is difficult to accurately identify the type of the vehicles. In this paper, we propose a robust algorithm to remove the shadow of a vehicle by calculating the luminance, the chrominance, the gradient density of the cast shadow from information acquired using the image subtraction of the background, and to recognize the substantial vehicle figure. Even when it is hard to detect and split a target vehicle from its shadow as shadows of vehicles are attached to each other, our robust algorithm can detect the vehicle figure only. We implemented our system with a general camera and conducted experiments on various vehicles on general roads to find out our vehicle shade removal algorithm is efficient when detecting and recognizing vehicles.

  • This paper proposed a real-time earlobe detection system using deep learning on the web. Existing deep learning-based detection methods often find independent objects such as cars, mugs, cats, and people. We proposed a way to receive an image through the camera of the user device in a web environment and detect the earlobe on the server. First, we took a picture of the user's face with the user's device camera on the web so that the user's ears were visible. After that, we sent the photographed user's face to the server to find the earlobe. Based on the detected results, we printed an earring model on the user's earlobe on the web. We trained an existing YOLO v5 model using a dataset of about 200 that created a bounding box on the earlobe. We estimated the position of the earlobe through a trained deep learning model. Through this process, we proposed a real-time earlobe detection system on the web. The proposed method showed the performance of detecting earlobes in real-time and loading 3D models from the web in real-time.

  • worker-centered safety management for hazardous areas in the plant is required. The causes of gas accidents in the past five years are closely related to the behavior of the operator, such as careless handling of the user, careless handling of the suppliers, and intentional, as well as equipment failure and accident of thought. In order to prevent such accidents, real-time monitoring of hazardous areas in the plant is required. However, when installing a camera in a work space for real-time monitoring, problems such as human rights abuse occur. In order to prevent this, an infrared camera with low resolution with low exposure of the operator is used. In real-time monitoring, image analysis is performed using CNN algorithm, not human, to prevent human rights violation.

  • The mask parameters of a coded aperture are critical design features when optimizing the performance of a gamma-ray camera. In this paper, experiments and Monte Carlo simulations were performed to derive the minimum detectable activity (MDA) when one seeks a real-time imaging capability. First, the impact of the thickness of the modified uniformly redundant array (MURA) mask on the image quality is quantified, and the imaging of point, line, and surface radiation sources is demonstrated using both cross-correlation (CC) and maximum likelihood expectation maximization (MLEM) methods. Second, the minimum detectable activity is also derived for real-time imaging by altering the factors used in the image quality assessment, consisting of the peak-to-noise ratio (PSNR), the normalized mean square error (NMSE), the spatial resolution (full width at half maximum; FWHM), and the structural similarity (SSIM), all evaluated as a function of energy and mask thickness. Sufficiently sharp images were reconstructed when the mask thickness was approximately 2 cm for a source energy between 30 keV and 1.5 MeV and the minimum detectable activity for real-time imaging was 23.7 MBq at 1 m distance for a 1 s collection time.
