  • Most people are using a Color-CCD-Camera in other to acquire a color image. But we are getting a color image with the Monochrome-CCD-Camera equipped for Rotation-Color-Filter in front of the camera lens. The Monochrome CCD Camera has some advantages such as the low price. In addition Rotation-Color-Filter's design is very simple. So we can make this structure easily and economically. In this paper, we described how to make a color image from Monocrome-Camera and correcting color well.

  • This paper is to present a method for recognizing an image of a tracking object by processing the image from a camera, whose attitude is controlled in inertial space with inertial co-ordinate system. In order to recognize an object, a pseudo-random M-array is attached on the object and it is observed by the camera which is controlled on inertial coordinate basis by inertial stabilization unit. When the attitude of the camera is changed, the observed image of M-array is transformed by use of affine transformation to the image in inertial coordinate system. Taking the cross-correlation function between the affine-transformed image and the original image, we can recognize the object. As parameters of the attitude of the camera, we used the azimuth angle of camera, which is de-fected by gyroscope of an inertial sensor, and elevation an91e of camera which is calculated from the gravitational acceleration detected by servo accelerometer.

  • Stereoscopic image generated by depth image-based rendering(DIBR) for surveillance robot and camera is appropriate in a low bandwidth network. The image is very important data for the decision-making of a commander and thus its integrity has to be guaranteed. One of the methods used to detect manipulation is to check if the stereoscopic image is taken from the original camera. Sensor pattern noise(SPN) used widely for camera identification cannot be directly applied to a stereoscopic image due to the stereo warping in DIBR. To solve this problem, we find out a shifted object in the stereoscopic image and relocate the object to its orignal location in the center image. Then the similarity between SPNs extracted from the stereoscopic image and the original camera is measured only for the object area. Thus we can determine the source of the camera that was used.

  • In general, camera calibration is consisted of Indoor and Outdoor system. In case of Indoor system, it was optimized experimental condition. However, Outdoor system is different camera parameters for each image that is compared to equaled position. That is, it imply that camera parameters are varied by an environment with light or impulse noise, etc. So we make use of Image sequence because that they provide the more information for each image. In addition to, we use Corresponding line because it has less error than Corresponding point. Corresponding line has also the more information. In this paper, we suggest on-line camera calibration method using the time-varying Image sequence and Corresponding line. So we calculate camera parameters with intrinsic and extrinsic parameters in On-line system.

  • In this paper, we designed an image processing system for the high speed line-scan camera which adopts the new memory model we proposed. As a resolution and a data rate of the line-scan camera are becoming higher, the faster image processing systems are needed. But many conventional systems are not sufficient to process the image data from the line-scan camera during a very short time. We designed the memory controller which eliminates the time for transferring image data from the line-scan camera to the main memory with high-speed SRAM and has a dual-port configuration therefore the DSP can access the main memory even though the memory controller are writing the image data. The memory controller is implemented by VHDL and Xilinx SPARTAN-IIE FPGA.

  • This paper addresses the effective and quantitative image DB construction for the development of front looking camera systems. The automotive industry has expanded the capability of front camera solutions that will help ADAS(Advanced Driver Assistance System) applications targeting Euro NCAP function requirements. These safety functions include AEB(Autonomous Emergency Braking), TSR(Traffic Signal Recognition), LDW(Lane Departure Warning) and FCW(Forward Collision Warning). In order to guarantee real road safety performance, the driving image DB logged under various real road conditions should be used to train core object classifiers and verify the function performance of the camera system. However, the driving image DB would entail an invalid and time consuming task without proper guidelines. The standard working procedures and design factors required for each step to build an effective image DB for reliable automotive front looking camera systems are proposed.

  • We developed a low cost digital X-Ray image capturing system using a CCD camera, instead of using the high cost image plate and image intensifier. In order to reduce the system volume, we directly made the dark box shorter than the previous model. Using the graphic language, we developed a program in order for post-processing the images captured by the CCD camera. This program improves the image resolving power.

  • In this paper, we propose a method for correction of perspective distortion on a taken image. An image taken by a camera is caused perspective distortion depending on the direction of the camera when objects are projected onto the image. The proposed method in this paper is to obtain the normal vector of the plane through the depth information using a depth camera and calculate the direction of the camera based on this normal vector. Then the method corrects the perspective distortion to the view taken from the front side by performing a rotation transformation on the image according to the direction of the camera. Through the proposed method, it is possible to increase the processing speed than the conventional method such as correction of perspective distortion based on color information.

  • A gamma camera system using radionuclide has a functional imaging technique and is frequently used in the field of nuclear medicine. In the gamma camera, it is extremely important to improve the image quality to ensure accurate detection of diseases. In this study, we designed a blind-deconvolution framework after a noise-reduction algorithm based on a non-local mean, which has been shown to outperform conventional methodologies with regard to the gamma camera system. For this purpose, we performed a simulation using the Monte Carlo method and conducted an experiment. The image performance was evaluated by visual assessment and according to the intensity profile, and a quantitative evaluation using a normalized noise-power spectrum was performed on the acquired image and the blind-deconvolution image after noise reduction. The result indicates an improvement in image performance for gamma camera images when our proposed algorithm is used.

  • Camera calibration is the process of determining the coordinate relationship between a camera image and its real world space. Accurate calibration of a camera is necessary for the applications that involve quantitative measurement of camera images. However, if the camera plane is parallel or near parallel to the calibration board on which 2 dimensional objects are defined(this is called "ill-conditioned"), existing solution procedures are not well applied. In this paper, we propose a neural network-based approach to camera calibration for 2D images formed by a mono-camera or a pair of cameras. Multi-layer perceptrons are developed to transform the coordinates of each image point to the world coordinates. The validity of the approach is tested with data points which cover the whole 2D space concerned. Experimental results for both mono-camera and stereo-camera cases indicate that the proposed approach is comparable to Tsai's method[8]. Especially for the stereo camera case, the approach works better than the Tsai's method as the angle between the camera optical axis and the Z-axis increases. Therefore, we believe the approach could be an alternative solution procedure for the ill -conditioned camera calibration.libration.
