침전제 적하법을 이용한 $TiO_2$ 분말 제조 및 광촉매 특성 (Synthesis of Hydrous $TiO_2$ Powder by Dropping Precipitant Method and Photocatalytic Properties)

  • Hydrous titanium oxide particles with anatase phase were prepared from 0.05 mol TiCl4 solution using NH4HCO3 as precipitant by the droopping precipitant method. The sequential change of pH is completed by a sudden and steep increase in a pH value of the range of 6~7 to which the concentration of adsorbed OH- and H+ ions on TiO2 surface is equal. Rutile phase started precipitating with anatase phase as an increase of reaction temperature above 6$0^{\circ}C$ in aqueous 0.05mol TiCl4 solution and its specific surface area was found to decrease from 452 $m^2$/g($25^{\circ}C$) to 164$m^2$/g(8$0^{\circ}C$). Specific surface area decreased rapidly when anatase powders precipitated at 4$0^{\circ}C$ were heat-treated at temperature higher 40$0^{\circ}C$. FT-IR result confirmed that it was due to the decrease of OH species within hydrous titanium oxides. The loss of ethanol after illumination of the powder heated at $600^{\circ}C$ and $700^{\circ}C$ for 4 h was 66 and 68.8%, respectively.

Pyroelectric Characteristics of 0-3 PbTiO3/P(VDF/TrFE) Nanocomposites Thin Films for Infrared Sensing

  • [ 0-3PbTiO_3/P$ ](VDF/TrFE) nanocomposites thin films for passive pyroelectric infrared sensor have been fabricated by two-step spin coating technique. 65 wt% VDF and 35 wt% TrFE was formed to a P(VDF/TrFE) poder Nano size $PbTiO_3$ powder was used. 0-3 connectivity of $PbTiO_3$(VDF/TrFE) composites film is achieved and also observed by SEM photography successfully. The dielectric constant, and pyroelectric coefficient measured and compared with P (VDF/TrFE). A very low dielectric constant (13.48 at 1 kHz) and high enough pyroelectric coefficient (3.101 $nC/cm^2$.k at $50^{circ}C$) neasured. This nanocomposites can be used for a new pyroelectric infrared sensor for better performance.

Si 및 SrTiO3 기판 위에 증착된 Bi4Ti3O12 박막의 결정구조 및 배향에 따른 강유전 특성 (Ferroelectric Properties of Bi4Ti3O12 Thin Films Deposited on Si and SrTiO3 Substrates According to Crystal Structure and Orientation)

  • Ferroelectric $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}$ films were deposited on $SrTiO_3(100)$ and Si(100) substrate by using conductive $SrRuO_3$ films as underlayer, and their ferroelectric and electrical properties were investigated depending on crystal structure and orientation. C-axis oriented $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}$ films were grown on well lattice-matched pseudo-cubic $SrRuO_3$ films deposited on $SrTiO_3(100)$ substrate, while random-oriented polycrystalline $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}$ films were grown on $SrRuO_3$ films deposited on Si(100) substrate. The random-oriented polycrystalline film showed a good ferroelectric hysteresis property with remanent polarization ($P_r$) of $9.4{\mu}C/cm^2$ and coercive field ($E_c$) of 84.9 kV/cm, while the c-axis oriented film showed $P_r=0.64{\mu}C/cm^2$ and $E_c=47kV/cm$ in polarizaion vs electric field curve. The c-axis oriented $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}$ film showed a dielectric constant of about 150 and lower thickness dependence in dielectric constant compared to the random-oriented film. Furthermore, the c-axis oriented $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}$ film showed leakage current lower than that of the polycrystalline film. The difference of ferroelectric properties in two films was explained from the viewpoint of depolarization effect due to orientation of spontaneous polarization and layered crystal structure of bismuth-base ferroelectric oxide.

침전제적하법에 의한 나노 TiO2코팅 석탄회 복합체 제조 (Synthesis of Nano TiO2 Coated on Fly Ash Composites by the Precipitation Dropping Method)

  • 광촉매용 TiO$_2$코팅 석탄회 복합체를 침전제적하법을 이용하여 합성한 후, $700^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 열처리하여 제조하였다. 석탄회 표면의 TiO$_2$ 입자 석출상태와 결정상은 반응용액의 pH, 침전제인NH$_4$HCO$_3$의 주입속도, 교반속도, 반응온도 및 TiC1$_4$ 의 첨가량에 영향을 받았다. NH$_4$HCO$_3$의 주입속도=1.0ml/min, 반응용액의 pH=6, 교반속도=1,000rpm 및 반응온도=8$0^{\circ}C$인 석탄회의 표면에는 약 10m의 TiO$_2$ 입자가 균일하게 석출되었으나,NH$_4$HCO$_3$의 주입속도=0.3 및 0.5ml/min, 반응용액의 pH=2 및 11 ,교반속도=300~500rpm 및 반응온도=5$0^{\circ}C$ 이하인 석탄회의 표면에는 불균일한 TiO$_2$ 입자의 석출이 관찰되었다. NH$_4$HCO$_3$의 주입속도와 반응온도가 증가하고 TiC1$_4$의 농도가 감소함에 따라 석탄회 표면에 석출된 anatase상의 결정성은 열처리온도에 따라 증가하였으나,800"C에서 rutile로 전이하였다 반응온도와 NH$_4$HCO$_3$의 주입속도 및 Tic14의 농도가 증가함에 따라 rutile상이 생성되었다. $700^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 열처리하여 약 21m의 anatase상 TiO$_2$ 입자가 코팅된 석탄회 복합체는 1.25g/㎤의 밀도, 82.8%의 강도 및 69.5Lab의 백색도를 나타내었으며, 광촉매로 응용이 가능하였다.능하였다.

수열합성법에 의한 BaTiO3분말합성 및 소결체의 제조 (Preparation and Characterization of Hydrothermal BaTiO3 Powders and Ceramics)

  • 공침전물을 원료로 사용한 수열합성법을 통해 저온에서 미립의 BaTiO$_3$ 분말을 합성하였다. 출발물질로는 BaCl$_2$와 TiCl$_4$ 의 수용액을 사용하였다 이들의 혼합용액을 제조한 다음 과산화물 형태의 침전을 얻기 위해 과산화수소수($H_2O$$_2$)를 첨가하였으며 이렇게 준비된 용액을 암모니아수에 적하하여 공침전물을 얻었다. 이 과산화공침전물을 수열합성의 원료로 사용하였으며 반응온도와 시간 및 pH를 달리하면서 합성하였다. pH 13 이상이 요구되어 강염기인 KOH나 NaOH를 사용하는 일반적인 수열합성법과 달리 암모나아수로도 얻을 수 있는 pH 12 이하에서 perovskite BaTiO$_3$가 합성되었으며, 11$0^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 균일하고 미세한 BaTiO$_3$ 분말을 합성할 수 있었다. 13$0^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 얻은 분말의 경우 합성시간과 관계없이 일정한 물성을 보여주었다. 이렇게 합성된 분말은 76 $m^2$/g의 높은 비표면적을 보였으며 20 nm 이하의 미세한 일차입자들이 약하게 결합된 응집체를 이루고 있었다. 수열합성분말을 이용하여 l150~120$0^{\circ}C$의 온도범위에서 소결한 시편의 소결특성 및 유전 물성을 평가하였다.

  • 고에너지 반사 전자회절기(RHEED) 및 투과전자현미경(HRTEM)을 이용하여 Si(111)-7 $\times$ 7 면에서의 Ti 박막의 성장 mode와 Si(111) 면에서의 C54 TiSi2의 정합성장 을 조사하였다. 초고진공에서 Si(111)-7 $\times$ 7 표면에 상온에서 Ti를 증착하면 Ti/Si 계면에 서 비정질의 Ti-Si 중간막이 먼저 형성되고 그 위에 Ti 박막은 다결정으로 성장하였다. 160ML의 Ti를 증착한 시료를 초고진공 내에서 75$0^{\circ}C$로 10분 열처리하면 C54 TiSi2가 정합 성장하였으며 이는 HRTEM 격자상 및 TED Pattern으로 확인할 수 있었다. TiSi2/Si(111) 시 료를 다시 $900^{\circ}C$로 가열하면 TiSi2위에 단결정 Si층이 [111] 방향으로 성장하였다.

  • [ $Pb(Zr_{0.2}Ti_{0.8})O_3/SrRuO_3$ ] heteroepitaxial thin films were deposited at various temperatures on single crystal $SrTiO_3$ substrates by pulsed laser deposition and characterized for the microstructural and ferroelectric properties. The $SrTiO_3$ substartes etched by buffered oxide etch $(pH{\thickapprox}5.8)$ solution for 20s followed by the thermal annealing at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 1h showed the terrace ledges with a 0.4nm height. The $SrRuO_3$ bottom electrodes with a thickness of 52nm grown on $SrTiO_3$ single crystal also exhibit a terrace ledge similar to that of $SrTiO_3$. The PZT thin films were grown with an epitaxial relationship and showed typical P-E hysteresis loops shown at the epitaxial films. The 56nm thick-PZT films deposited at $650^{\circ}C$ exhibit a remanent polarization $(p_r)$ of $80{\mu}C/cm^2$ and a coercive field $(E_c)$ of 160kV/cm.

La2O3첨가에 따른 무연 Bi(Na,K)TiO3-SrTiO3 세라믹스의 압전 특성 (Piezoelectric Properties of Pb-free Bi(Na,K)TiO3-SrTiO3 Ceramics with the Amount of La2O3 Addition)

  • In this study, lead-free pirzoelectric ceramics were investigated for pressure sensor applications as a function of the amount of ${La}_2{O}_3$ addition at $Bi(Na, K)Ti{O}_3-SrTi{O}_3$system. With increasing the amount of addition, the density and dielectric constant increased up to 0.9 wt% ${La}_2{O}_3$ addition and decreased above 0.9 wt% ${La}_2{O}_3$addition. Electromechanical coupling factor( $K_{P}$) showed the maximum value at 0.2 wt% ${La}_2{O}_3$addition and decreased above 0.2 wt% ${La}_2{O}_3$ addition. Electromechanical coupling $factor{(K)}_P$, density, dielectric constant$(\varepsilon_\Gamma)$, piezoelectric constant$(d_33)$ and curie temperature$(T_C)$ showed optimum value of 0.40, 5.75 g/㎤, 768, 215 pC/N and 320 $^{\circ}C$ at 0.2 wt%${La}_2{O}_3$addition, respectively.

  • A $TiO_2$ films in dye-sensitized solar cells was fabricated using $TiO_2$ colloidal sol prepared from titanium iso-propoxide used as a starting material by applying the sol-gel method. It was characterized by particle size analyzer, XRD, FE-SEM, and BET analysis. The adsorption isotherms of dye molecule on $TiO_2$ films were obtained at three different temperatures (30, 45, $60^{\circ}C$) and at three different pH (3, 5, 7). The adsorption kinetics of dye molecule on $TiO_2$ films were obtained at three different temperatures (30, 45, $60^{\circ}C$. The adsorption experimental data were correlated with Langmuir isotherm model and pseudo-second-order model. Also the isosteric enthalpies of dye adsorption were calculated by the Clausius-Clapeyron equation. In addition, the adsorption energy distribution functions which describe heterogeneous characteristics of nanocrystalline $TiO_2$ film surface were calculated by using the generalized nonlinear regularization method. We found that efficient adsorption of N719 dye from aqueous solution onto $TiO_2$ films can be successfully achieved by dye adsorption conditions and morphology of $TiO_2$ films.

Non-Steady State Gas Permeation Measurements of $TiO_2$-Doped YSZ

  • Mobilities of electrons ($\mu_p$) and holes ($\mu_p$) in 2, 5, and 10 mol% $TiO_2$-doped yttria stabilized zirconia (TD-YSZ) have been estimated by a non-steady state gas permeation method using models proposed by Weppner and Maruyama. Values of $\mu_n$ and $\mu_p$ were found to be closed to those in non-doped YSZ reported earlier. The concentration of electrons and holes were calculated from $\mu_n$ and $\mu_p$ values and the partial conductivities of electrons and holes measured by a dc-polarization method. The concentration of electrons at unit oxygen partial pressure increased with increasing $TiO_2$concentration, while the hole concentration was almost independent of $TiO_2$concentration.
