  • KEPCO enforces the development about distribution automation technology continuously for 10 years and reached in fair level present. And distribution automation system was constructed actively meantime, its establishment will be completed 100% at late 2002s. Distribution automation system had been developed also in Japan, U.S.A and Europe etc. In japan, distribution automation system was established all business office to whole county. Lately, there is examining distribution automation expansion actively in developing country including China. Therefore, we try to analyze domestic and foreign technological variance as that examine foreign distribution automation trend and the development direction of domestic distribution automation technology forward.

  • Inchon International Airport (IIA) is one of many new airports being constructed in the Asia Pacific region. IIA is located at the center of Northeast Asia connecting 43 major cities within 3.5 hour flight. With the sate-of-the-art airport facilities, IIA will also have the diverse functions of a modern airport for international business, where airport users can work and relax at the same time. It will be built for the multifunction of Pentaport - Airport, Businessport, Teleport, Seaport and Leisureport. IIA will be a leading hub airport for Northeast Asia in the coming 21st century. This paper will focus on the development plan for Inchon International Airport and its current status.

  • There is an increasing need to apply artificial intelligence to the real application fields of industry. These include an intelligent process control, an expert machine and a diagnostic and/or maintenance machine. These applications are implemented in AI Languages. It is commonly recognized that AI Languages, such as Common Lisp or Prolog, require a workstation. This is mainly due to the fact that both languages need a large amount of memory space and disk storage space. Workstations are appropriate for a laboratory or office environment. However, they are too bulky to use in the real application fields of industry or business. Also users who apply artificial intelligence to these fields wish to have their own operating systems. We propose a new design method of an intelligent controller which is embedded within equipment and provides easy-to-use tools for artificial intelligence applications. In this paper we describe the new design method of a VMEbus based intelligent controller for artificial intelligence applications and a small operating system which supports Common Lisp and Prolog.

  • Much attention currently is being aimed to OA (office automation). OA has a potential for improving management decision making as well as increasing productivity of secretarial and clerical workers. This study construct a model that may be useful to the OA manager, in channeling OA efforts in the right direction. The purpose of this study is to analyze the improtance of critical success strategy for OA implementation, to test 5 hypotheses and 11 subsidiary hypothese of organizational characteristics and OA propulsion characteristics, and to suggest and evaluate a cussess strategy for OA implementation. The population consists of the Korean business in Seoul, 292 response of the 1000 questionaires were available and analyzed. The analytical methods are adopted on the frequency analysis to analyze the general characteristics, the one-way ANOVA, the Pearson's correlation analysis, the regression analysis for the test of the hypotheses.

  • A spreadsheet is a office automation software which has been widely used in almost all areas in business. A spreadsheet is used for calculation, data analysis, model building and so on. As a result, spreadsheet is a very important tool for generating knowlege in a firm. Errors in a spreadsheet model can cause a serious financial damage in a corporation. However in Korea few researches for reducing errors have been performed. Neither serious efforts to reduce errors have been executed by corporations. In this research we provided summarized the results from a survey for spreadsheet usage, summarized researches on errors in spreadsheet up to now, and suggested a rules and structured development method for reducing errors in a spreadsheet. Errors in spreadsheets are prevalent. To solve this serious problem, we need much more attention on this problem in research area. Corporations must put more efforts on setting policies and rules. And also we need the government's concern and support.

  • This paper describes the operating characteristic analysis of the PM-type linear oscillatory actuator used as a magnetic circuit breaker for the electromagnetic field, electric circuit, and mechanical motion problems. Transient calculations are based upon a 2D finite element magnetic field solution including non-linearity of materials. Changes of the dynamic characteristics from the eddy current in the plunger are quantified from finite element analysis. A new laminated model is proposed to decrease the eddy current effect.

  • Information sharing and automated office in the use of PC necessitate corporate network to implement business innovation. Building an efficient network requires competent knowledge on capabilities of various LAN technologies, hardwares and softwares that have rapidly improved in terms of efficiency and cost. This paper compares capabilities of network components: communication protocol, hardware, network operation system, low cost database software and mid-range priced SQL for application development. Also this study presents a new technology on virtual LAN and a selection guide among the various options of the network components which are suitable for PC-based small-sized network in balance of efficiency with economy. In the last section of this paper, a case of small-sized network is given for illustration.

  • A geometric compensation of thin-walled molded parts in reverse engineering is presented. Researches in reverse engineering have focused on the fitting of points to curves and surfaces. However, the reconstructed model is not the geometric model because the molded parts have some dimensional errors in measurements and deformation during molding. Geometric information can give an improved accuracy in reverse engineering. Thus, measurement data must be compensated with geometric information to reconstruct the mathematical model. The functional and geometric concepts of the part can be derived from geometric information. LSM (Least square method) is adopted to determine the geometric information. Also, an example of geometric compensation is given to improve the accuracy of geometric model and to inspect the reconstructed model.

  • Since 2010, enhancement of the building energy efficiency and certification system and public office building should have been acquiring the first grade of Building Energy Efficiency. The Building Energy Efficiency Rating evaluation tool and Dynamic Analysis Energy simulation program for Building Energy Efficiency are widely used. The suitability to those programs have been discussed as a variety of programs have been used accordingly. In this study, evaluated the characteristic of Building Energy Efficiency Rating tool(ECO2) of the business building. At a result, the variables on the Weather Data, building Profile and building Load property in hourly between those Building Energy Efficiency evaluation tools have different.
