A Study on Developing the Guideline of Risk Management utilizing BCP technique for Airport Corporation (공항전문기업의 BCP기법을 활용한 위기대응 가이드라인 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of the establishment of corporation's Business Continuity Plan(BCP) is to maintain corporations' own business and establish the response plan in order to resume operation in a short time period when crisis situations occur due to natural disaster and human error. This study has presented all types of procedures and criteria which are needed to establish the airport crisis response system in order to maintain the business continuity by utilizing BCP technique. Basically the risk response procedures must be established in the process of (1) preparation stage, (2) plan development stage, (3) documentation stage, (4) test & maintenance stage. The guideline has been suggested that each stage must be carried out in the sequence of Policy & Planning Responsibility, Business Impact Analysis, Recovery Strategy & Plans, Emergency Plan & SOP, Training Awareness and Maintenance & Review

A Study on the Application of Business Disaster Reduction Activities to Strengthen the Business Continuity of Hydrogen Charging Stations (수소충전소의 사업연속성 강화를 위한 기업재해경감활동 적용 연구)

  • Purpose: In order to compensate for the limitations of the risk assessment of hydrogen charging stations, it is proposed to apply business disaster reduction activities as a way to strengthen safety and business continuity for accidents that may occur during operation. Method: We explored the application of business disaster reduction activities that can reduce, eliminate, transfer, and accept risks by classifying risks according to the passage of time in the installation and operation of hydrogen charging stations, identifying key tasks, deriving risk scenarios. Result: Existing research results are appropriately applied to the risk assessment conducted in the stage before the installation of hydrogen charging stations. However, there is a limit to the risks that can occur at the operational stage, so applying business disaster reduction activities with several example scenarios has resulted in that it can be applied as a way to strengthen safety and business continuity. Conclusion: All of the currently implemented risk assessments for hydrogen charging stations are being used appropriately. However, it proposes business disaster reduction activities that apply various risk scenarios as an evaluation and response to possible risks at the operational stage.

An Analysis of Business Management in the Farming Service Company (위탁영농회사의 사업실태 및 경영성과 분석)

  • This study was carried out to find out the possibility of continuity of the Farming Service Company (FSC), which has been founding since 1991 by the public administration to obtain the scale economy in the rice production, through the only financial analysis of the FSC. The results obtained were as follows. 1. The FSC's business is forward to the off-farm business rather than farm business. Based on the profit ratio, the profit ratio of off-farm business is more than that of farm business. It may cause the difficulty of policy to obtain the scale economy in the farming through the FSC. 2. Without subsidies the average net profit of the FSC was negative, which may provide the motives to the FSC to seek out the way to survive through the off-farm business, unless the FSC's could break up. 3. After all, the possibility of continuity of the FSC through the only financial analysis seems to be very little. Therefore the public administration should reconsider the present policy which is to found the more FSC continuously. If government wants to support the FSC continuously, government should focus on the conglomeration of farm land to increase the productivity of farming and on the subsidy of off-farm business to increase the profit ratio of the FSC.

  • If the System is downed by computer or disasters, it can have a bad influence on the reliability of the corporation and business continuity because all companies are computerized. Accordingly, interest on the business continuity without the loss of data in the corporate is increasing. In this paper, system faults have been defined as physical faults and logical faults and CDP solution using Flash SSD has been proposed for enhancing IOPS which is needed for realtime-backup. In order to measure IOPS performance of the CDP using Flash SSD, we constructed an experimental system. From the results we can see that IOPS performance of CDP using Flash SSD is about 50 times more effective than that of the S-ATA.

  • This study investigated the effect of the delivery service quality of Mongolian online shopping on the customer value, customer trust, and relationship persistence intention of Mongolian consumers. Through this, the purpose of this study is to understand the priorities of the quality conditions of delivery services (accuracy, economy, information, safety, tangibility, etc.) that Mongolian consumers value. The empirical analysis results of this study are as follows. First, the effect of delivery service quality on the intention to continue the relationship showed partially significant results. In other words, economics, information, and safety, excluding accuracy and tangibility, influenced the intention to continue the relationship. Second, the effect of delivery service quality on customer value was partially significant. In other words, accuracy, economy, safety, and tangibility, excluding informativity, influenced customer value. Third, the effect of delivery service quality on customer reliability was partially significant. In other words, economics, safety, and tangibility, excluding accuracy and informativity, influenced customer reliability. Fourth, the hypothesis of customer value on customer reliability was adopted, followed by the hypothesis of customer value on relationship continuity intention. Finally, the hypothesis of customer reliability on relationship continuity intention was adopted.

A study on the optimal distance between the data center and the disaster recovery center for the business continuity (업무 연속성 확보를 위한 재해복구센터의 최적 거리에 관한 연구)

  • As the business dependency to information systems and the frequency of the large scale disasters increase, implementing the disaster recovery center has been a common practice. However, since there has been little quantitative decision method for the distance between the data center and the disaster recovery center, the distance decision has been commonly made by qualitative guidelines. In this research, the decision method for the optimal distance between the data center and the disaster recovery center is developed, using the cost analysis including the operation cost and the expected disaster cost. An illustrative numerical example is provided.

  • 1980년대 후반과 90년대 초반부터 정보시스템의 비상계획과 재해복구의 새로운 개념으로 대두된 업무지속성관리(BCM:Business Continuity Management)는 정보시스템이 조직의 업무처리(Business Process)에 중심을 두고 활용되는 현실에서 업무의 중단없는 지속적인 업무수행이 조직의 중요 이슈로 대두되는 추세를 반영하여, 비상시 또는 재해시 복구의 대상을 단순한 전산센터나 시스템 단위에 초점을 맞추는 것이 아니라, 가장 중요한 업무처리 차원에서 중단없이 업무를 수행할 수 있도록 관리하는 것을 말한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 업무지속성관리가 기존의 재해복구나 보안관리 등의 개념들과 어떠한 관계를 갖고 있는지를 정의함으로서, 업무지속성관리의 개념과 범위를 좀 더 명확히 하고, 정보시스템의 운영환경별(중앙집중처리, 분산처리, 외부위탁처리) 업무지속성관리를 적용하는 방안에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.

A Classification Model and Case Analyses of Backup Centers for Business Continuity Management (업무지속성관리를 위한 백업센터 유형분류모델과 사례분석)

  • This paper firstly introduces a classification model for designing the architecture of backup centers in terms of business continuity management. We propose that the replication solution, the level of disaster recovery, and the outsourcing style as three important factors that help explain the architecture of backup centers. We provide the details of each factor of the model and apply them to the real world cases of backup centers in Korea. We conclude that the model is well fitted to many cases of currently available backup centers and can provide backup center architects with a well classified architecture model with specific guidelines.

  • Recently, accidents such as human accidents are increasing rapidly due to natural disasters and changes in social conditions due to abnormal weather. As a result, damage has been causing massive damage unlike the past. In the case of small and medium enterprises excluding financial institutions and big company, there is no system for prevention and restoration for stable operation from various risks such as human and natural disasters. As the current disaster continues, public and private companies have raised the need for BCM, and with the introduction of the ISO22301 certification system, the company has been establishing and operating Enterprise Disaster Management Standards in the Ministry of Public Safety and Security since 2007. However, in most SMEs, it is hard to bear the input of internal labor and investment cost, and there is a lack of personnel with expertise to conduct BCM diagnosis. Therefore, in this paper, we will study the diagnosis level of enterprise continuity plan which is commonly used in Korea and abroad. Based on this, we will study the BCM system diagnosis method which can be applied to small and medium enterprises in Korea efficiently.
