Seismic response evaluation of 154 kV transformer porcelain bushing by shaking table tests

  • The use of electricity and communication between electronic devices is increasing daily, which makes the stability of electrical power supply vital. Since the 1990s, large earthquakes have occurred frequently causing considerable direct damage to electrical power facilities as well as secondary damage, such as difficulty in restoring functions due to the interruption of electric power supply. Therefore, it is very important to establish measures to protect electrical power facilities, such as transformers and switchboards, from earthquakes. In this study, a 154 kV transformer whose service life had expired was installed on the base fabricated by simulating the field conditions and conducting the shaking table tests. The dynamic characteristics and seismic behavior of the 154 kV transformer were analyzed through the resonance frequency search test and seismic simulation test that considers the front, rear, left, and right directions. Since the purpose of this study is to analyze the acceleration amplification in the bushing due to the acceleration amplification, the experimental results were analyzed focusing on the acceleration response and the converted acceleration amplification ratio rather than the failure due to the displacement response of the transformer. The seismic force amplification at the transformer bushing was evaluated by simulating the characteristics of electrical power facilities in South Korea, and compared with the IEC TS 61463 acceleration amplification factor. Finally, the amplification factor at zero period acceleration (ZPA) modified for each return period was summarized. The results of this study can be used as data to define the amplification factor at ZPA of the transformer bushing, simulating the characteristics of electrical power facilities in Korea.

가전제품용 경첩의 신뢰성 추정 (Reliability Estimation of Door Hinge for Rome Appliances)

  • This paper presents the reliability estimation of door hinge for home appliances, which consists of bushing and shaft. The predominant failure mechanism of bushing made of polyoxymethylene(POM) is brittle fracture due to decrease of strength caused by voids existing, and that of shaft made of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene(ABS) is creep due to plastic deformation caused by excessive temperature and lowering of glass transition temperature by absorbed moisture. Since the brittle fracture of bushing is overstress failure mechanism, the load-strength interference model is used to estimate the failure rate of it along with failure analysis. By the way, the creep of shaft is wearout failure mechanism, and an accelerated life test is then planned and implemented to estimate its lifetime. Through the technical review about failure mechanism, temperature and humidity are selected as accelerating variables. Assuming Weibull lifetime distribution and Eyring model, the life-stress relationship and acceleration factor, $B_{10}$ life and its lower bound with $90\%$ confidence at worst case use condition are estimated by analyzing the accelerated life test data.

Electrical characteristics of insulating materials for HTS bushing immersed in $LN_2$

  • For the operation of high temperature superconducting (HTS) power equipments, it is necessary to develop insulating materials and high voltage (HV) insulation technology at cryogenic temperature of bushing. In this paper, the surface flashover characteristics of various insulating materials in $LN_2$ are studied. These results are studied at both AC and impulse voltage under a non-uniform field. The negative impulse breakdown voltage of GFRP is slightly higher than the positive impulse breakdown voltage. The use of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, Teflon) as insulation body for HTS bushing should be much desirable. Especially, GFRP is excellent material not only surface flashover characteristics but also mechanical characteristics at cryogenic temperature. The surface flashover is most serious problem for the shed design in $LN_2$ and operation of superconducting equipment.

자이로 펌프의 로타 및 붓싱 재료에 관한 연구 (Study on Rotor and Bushing Material of Gyro-pump)

  • 본 연구에서는 자이로 펌프의 내구성 및 내마모성을 향상시키고자 로타와 붓싱 재질 개선방안을 조사하였다. 질화강과 SKD11 합금 부품에 스퍼터링 방법으로 TiN Coating과 가스질화법으로 표면처리를 행하였으며, 기지조직의 개선을 위하여 SKD11 합금의 열처리를 행하였다. 실험결과 TiN Coating부품은 펌프 작동 중 Coating층의 밀착력 부족으로 박리현상이 나타났으나, 가스질화 시 우수한 표면경도와 충분한 경화층으로 뜯김현상이 제거되었다. SKD11 합금의 열처리 탄화물 조절을 위한 SKD11 합금의 열처리 결과 경도가 증가하였다.

CVD 장비 Up Time 향상을 위한 기판 지지대의 재질 및 구조 최적화 (Material and Structure Optimization of Substrate Support for Improving CVD Equipment Up Time)

  • We study substrate support structures and materials to improve uptime and shorten preventive maintenance cycles for chemical vapor deposition equipment. In order to improve the rolling of the substrate support, the bushing device adopts a ball transfer method in which a large ball and a small ball are mixed. When the main transfer ball of the bushing part of the substrate support contacts the substrate support, the small ball also rotates simultaneously with the rotation of the main ball, minimizing the resistance that can be generated during the vertical movement of the substrate support. As a result of the improvement, the glass substrate breakage rate is reduced by more than 90 ~ 95 %, and the equipment preventive maintenance and board support replacement cycles are extended four times or more, from once a month to more than four months, and the equipment uptime is at least 15 % improved. This study proposes an optimization method for substrate support structure and material improvement of chemical vapor deposition equipment.

수력발전소 가이드 베인 저개도율 운전에 따른 가이드 베인 베어링 부슁의 마모 가속효과 평가 (Evaluation of Effect of Low Opening Operation on Increasing Wear of Bearing Bushings of Guide Vanes used in Hydropower Plants)

  • 가이드 베인은 수력발전소 수차에 공급되는 물량을 제어하는 핵심적인 역할을 수행한다. 가이드 베인 베어링 부슁에 발생하는 마모와 관련하여 많은 정비 사례들이 보고되고 있다. 수력발전소의 중요기능인 주파수 조정, 급전 등과 같은 부수적 서비스는 가이드 베인을 작게 열고 운전하는 저개도율 운전을 반복적으로 수행하게 한다. 이러한 저개도율 운전은 가이드 베인 베어링 부슁의 마모율을 증가시키는 것으로 경험적으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 수력발전소의 가이드 베인 저개도율 운전이 가이드 베인 베어링 부슁의 마모를 가속시키는 효과를 유한요소 유동/응력 해석 및 상대적인 마모 평가를 통해 정량적으로 평가한다. 평가 결과, 가이드 베인 개도율이 작을수록 가이드 베인면에 작용하는 압력이 증가하고 가이드 베인 스템 외면과 베어링 부슁 내면 사이의 접촉길이는 감소하였으며 베어링 부슁 표면에 작용하는 접촉압력이 크게 발생하여 상대적으로 마모량이 증가함을 확인하였다.

  • A study to minimize the error in water-meter is considered in this work. It is presumed that the large amount of error at large flowrate is occurred due to the vibration of the impeller shalt. After a newly designed bushing applying hydrodynamic journal bearing theory is adopted, the error at large flow rate is decreased remarkably comparing with the classical water-meter. It is concluded that the effect of a bushing in water-meter stabilizes the rotator of the impeller shaft.

  • In this describes the results of a study on the thermal expansion of FRP tube/flange for improved tightness characteristics of polymer bushing. The thermal expansion of FRP tube and flange were investigated. The thermal expansion of flange, FRP tube were studied by TGA, TMA. AS winding tension is increased glass fiber contents was increased in the range of 70.89~78.74 and thermal expansion coefficient was decreased in the range of 29.90~13.50.
