Three typical biological solid wastes, namely, animal manure, garbage, and sewage sludge, were compared with regard to the composting process and the changes in microbial community structure. The effects of different bulking agents such as rice straw, vermiculite, sawdust, and waste paper were compared in manure compost. The differences in the microbial community were characterized by the quinone profile method. The highest mass reduction was found in garbage composting (56.8%), compared with manure and sludge (25% and 20.2%, respectively). A quinone content of $305.2\;{\mu}mol/kg$ was observed in the late stage of garbage composting, although the diversity index of the quinone profile was 9.7, lower than that in manure composting. The predominant quinone species was found to be MK-7, which corresponds to Gram-positive bacteria with a low G+C content, such as Bacillus. The predominance of MK-7 was especially found in the garbage and sludge composting process, and the increase in quinones with partially saturated long side-chains was shown in the late composting process of manure, which corresponded to the proliferation of Actinobacteria. The effects of different bulking agents on the composting process was much smaller than the effects of different raw materials. High organic matter content in the raw materials resulted in a higher microbial biomass and activity, which was connected to the high mass reduction rate.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the feasibility of composting of vegetable wastes containing high moisture. The parameters investigated were the effect of energy source addition, difference in bulking agent and recirculation of leachate produced during composting. Laboratory scale composting reactors were used in this study. Chinese cabbages were used as a vegetable waste. Dog food was added to the vegetable waste as a energy source. Wood chips and leaves of platan were used as bulking agents. There may be an appropriate amount of energy source to be added for composting high moisture content vegetable waste. In this study, the appropriate amount of energy source was 20% of the vegetable waste by weight basis. Recirculation of total amount of leachate produced each day on the same day may not be an appropriate approach due to the significant heat-quenching effect. When the total amount of leachate produced was equally devided and recirculated everyday through the whole composting period, the heat-quenching effect was comparatively less significant. There were no notable differences in the temperature profile and the $CO_2$ evoluation rate when leaves were used instead of wood chips as bulking agents. Considering waste recycling, it is desirable to use leaf waste as bulking agents if available, because the leaves are also wastes to be disposed of.
This study was conducted to investigate physicochemical and microbiological properties during composting process when pig manure was composted with some bulking agents(Saw dust, Rice hull, Crushed wood). The pig manure consisted of 2.95% total nitrogen, 4.55% $P_2O_5$, 2.07% $K_2O$, 81.2% organic matter and 14.0 C/N, dry base. The inorganic content of bulking agents were similar one another, and C/N ratio was Saw dust 392. Rice hull 91.5, Crushed wood 266. The temperature of Saw dust composting slowly increased at initial stage, whereas one of Rice hull and Crushed wood rapidly increased and stabilized similarly to outdoor temperature after about 2 month. The pH of compost increased during initial 1 month after decreasing, but thereafter decreased rapidly. The C/N ratio rapidly decreased at initial stage, and it slowly decreased after 1 month. Total nitrogen somewhat increased according to composting process. Ammonium-nitrogen increased until 60th day, and thereafter it was rapidly inclined to decrease. The population of aerobic bacteria, Bacillus spp., actinomycetes and fungi increased up to > $10^{10}cfu\;g^{-1}$ fresh weight, > $10^7$, > $10^8$ and > $10^6$, respectively in Rice hull and Crushed wood composting, and more than ones in Saw dust composting, and specially actinomycetes. The persuasive Bacillus spp. isolated from composting process were B. lentimorbus, B. licheniformis, B. pumilus, B. megaterium, etc.
This study was carried out to estimate the economic impacts on operation cost and curtail the bulking agent between two kinds of plants in swine farms. Bulking agents and Plants have a variety of roles in the fields of the composting for livestock manure and also represent an economic problem in terms of plant operation costs and compost production. Two farms which have rotary(size of reactor : 10${\times}$35${\times}$1.5m) or bucket(size of reactor : 10${\times}$68${\times}$2m) plants were used for 24 weeks for bucket conveyor system, which are composed of refilling rice hull as a bulking agent every 3 weeks till decreasing volume, for 4 weeks for rotary conveyor system, which has continuous compost production system without refilling rice hull, respectively. Composts was produced in 24 weeks in the bucket conveyor system, in 4 weeks in the rotary conveyor system, respectively. The results are as follows : 1. The tissue change of Rice hull at the composts of 45 days pursuant to composting steps was more crumbling in bucket conveyor system than in rotary conveyor system. 2. Microbial counts of the final composts for safety and quality showed that total bacteria counts was 1.01${\times}$108 cfu/g in bucket conveyor system, 2.82${\times}$108 cfu/g in rotary conveyor system, Salmonella was 0.3${\times}$102 cfu/g in bucket conveyor system, 7.6${\times}$102 cfu/g in rotary conveyor system, colifom bacteria was 0.5${\times}$106 cfu/g in bucket conveyor system, 1.5${\times}$106cfu/g in rotary conveyor system, fungi 1.24${\times}$106 cfu/g in bucket conveyor system, 0.01${\times}$106 cfu/g in rotary conveyor system, respectively. However, Any system used in this trial could not be met the regulation of A grade compost of EPA and USA. 3. C:N ratio according to the composting was more rapidly changed in bucket conveyor system with 64.5 of 5 days compost to 25.4 of final products than in rotary conveyor system with 26.7 of 5 days compost to 25.9 of final products. 4. Based on the mechanical characteristics of plants used in trial and compared with Rotary conveyor system, the Bucket conveyor system in which has 0.72 ㎥/㎥ of bulking agent capacity per slurry could be curtailed 1.78 ㎥of rice hull for disposal of waste, 1㎥. It was proper facilities to produce composts quantitative in Rotary conveyor system, and to treat waste quantitative and obtain good results in compost quality in Bucket conveyor system.

This study was carried out to investigate how much coal fly ash could be substituted for sawdust as a bulking agent for livestock waste composting. The mixtures of coal fly ash and sawdust in the weight ratio of 8 to 2, 7 to 3, 6 to 4, 5 to 5, 4 to 6, 3 to 7 and 2 to 8 were added to livestock waste as the bulking agent. The same amount of the bulking agents and livestock waste was mixed and composted during 21 days. Following effects were analyzed during composting experiment : the variation of temperature, pH and various compound contents. The results were summarized as follows: The more the sawdust was added, the higher the maximum temperature in slurry type livestock farm but faster it reached in scrapper type. Water content was maintained under good condition by adding the bulking agent mixed of the same amount of coal fly ash and sawdust. pH was in the range of 7~10 by adding the bulking agent mixed of the same amount of coal fly ash and sawdust. The more the sawdust was added, the higher organic matter content was measured. Nitrogen content with increasing the amount of sawdust added but it was higher did not showed any tendency Organic matter/Nitrogen ratio reduced during the composting period in scrapper type but it showed contrary tendency in slurry type with that of scrapper type.
Composting of animal residues with weeds and waste papers as bulking agents was tested. Coorperative form of work with farmers, students, cleaning women and members of citizens' movement was attempted. The responses of participants for composting, through it's laboriousness and dirtiness, were favorable with feeling of doing good for social services. The temperature of compost was raised up to 83 $^{\circ}C$. in spite of cold winter weather after turning. The pH, water content, total carbon, total nitrogen and C/N ratio showed the similarity to stability steps of other usual composts. The contents of heavy metals were low except Cu in comparison with standard levels. The uses of waste papers as a bulking agent for composting of animal residues, especially for organic farming, would need more diverse investigations.
Endoscopic treatment is a minimally invasive treatment for managing patients with vesicoureteral reflux (VUR). Although several bulking agents have been used for endoscopic treatment, dextranomer/hyaluronic acid is the only bulking agent currently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for treating VUR. Endoscopic treatment of VUR has gained great popularity owing to several obvious benefits, including short operative time, short hospital stay, minimal invasiveness, high efficacy, low complication rate, and reduced cost. Initially, the success rates of endoscopic treatment have been lower than that of open antireflux surgery. However, because injection techniques have been developed, a recent study showed higher success rates of endoscopic treatment than open surgery in the treatment of patients with intermediate- and high-grade VUR. Despite the controversy surrounding its effectiveness, endoscopic treatment is considered a valuable treatment option and viable alternative to long-term antibiotic prophylaxis.

This study was conducted to evaluate effects of compressed expansion rice hull (CERH) as bulking agent on physicochemical properties of composting poultry manure (PM) and of its fertilization on lettuce and pak choi growth. Treatments were designed as follows; sawdust treatment (90% PM + 10% sawdust; SP), peatmoss treatment (90% PM + 10% peatmoss; PP), and CERH treatments [PCR1 (90% PM + 10% CERH 1.3 mm) and PCR2 (90% PM + 10% CERH 3.0 mm)]. Physicochemical properties such as temperature, water content, pH, and total carbon of composted poultry piles for 31 days were unaffected by various bulking agents. However, total nitrogen content in compost pile was higher in PP and PCR1 than that of SP or PCR2. After composting for 31 days, content ranges of N, P2O5, and K2O in the composting PM piles were 19.1~19.7%, 47.6~51.6%, 2.76~3.65%, and 2.53~2.90%, respectively. As compared to SP treatment, dry weight of lettuce treated with PP and PCR1 increased by more than 10%, but only in PP for pak choi. These results indicated that CERH 1.3 could be used as bulking agents for composting PM on behalf of peatmoss or sawdust.
Drug excipients are material used in the formulation of pharmacologically active drugs. They have a variety of roles including dilutents/fillers/bulking agents, binders/adhesives, propellant, disintegrants, lubricants/dlidants, colors, flavors, coating agents, polising agents, fragrance, sweeteening agent, polymers and waxes. Excipient should be inert or inactive and does not interfere with the test. Nowadays within industry there has been a recent surge of interest in novel excipient for novel dosage forms. The purpose of the review is to introduce the administration systems of drug excipient about kinds, matters to be attended to change of excipients.
To study the optimum conditions of composing with sewage sludge, the variations of temperature and $CO_2$ generation amount during composting periods were investigated. The conditions were that sewage sludge added to bulking agents such as sawdust and rice hull were used and differently treated with microorganism seeding or not, initial C/N ratio, air flow rate and initial moisture contents. The results were summarized as follows : Seeding of 5% microorganism was higher temperature than not seeding. And using rice hull as bulking agents, and adjusting 21${\sim}$22 of initial C/N ratio, $200ml/l\;{\cdot}\;min$. of air flow rate and 64${\sim}$65% of initial moisture contents were higher temperature than any other conditions. Seeding of 5% microorganism was more $CO_2$ generation amount than not seeding. And using saw dust was more $CO_2$ generation amount than using rice hull as bulking agents. In the case of initial C/N ratio, adjusting 21${\sim}$42 was also more $CO_2$ generation amount than adjusting 12${\sim}$14. Judging from the result, it should be considered that the optimum conditions of composting with sewage sludges were seeding of 5% microorganism and adjusting 21${\sim}$22 of initial C/N ratio, $200ml/l\;{\cdot}\;min$. of air flow rate and 64${\sim}$65% of initial moisture contents.
