Optimum Design of the Brushless Motor Considering Parameter Tolerance (설계변수 공차를 고려한 브러시리스 모터 출력밀도 최적설계)

  • This paper presents the optimum design of the brushless motor to maximize the output power per weight considering the design parameter tolerance. The optimization is proceeded by commercial software that is adopted the scatter-search algorithm and the characteristic analysis is conducted by FEM. The stochastic optimum design results are compared with those of the deterministic optimization method. We can verify that the results of the stochastic optimization is superior than that of deterministic optimization.

  • An advanced simulation model for brushless dc (BLDC) motor drives using Matlab is presented. In the developed model, the dynamic characteristics of speed and torque as well as voltages and currents of pwm inverter components can be effectively monitored and analyzed. Therefore, it can be expected that the developed simulation model can be an easy-to-design tool for the development of BLDC motor drives including control algorithms and topological variations with reduced computation time and memory size.

  • This paper presents a new current control method to reduce torque ripple of Brushless DC Motor during commutation. In the proposed control strategy, the current slopes of rising and decaying phase during commutation is equalized by the compensation voltage. By adding the compensation voltage for it to the current controller output, the reduced torque ripple can be obtained. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed method reduces the torque and the current ripples significantly.

  • A Clustering Adaptive Fuzzy Logic Controller(CAFLC) is applied to the torque control of a brushless do motor drive. Objective of this system includes elimination of torque ripple due to cogging at low speeds under loads. The CAFLC implemented has advantages of computational simplicity, and self-tuning characteristics. Simulation results showed that the torque ripple and dynamic response of the system using a CAFLC were superior to the model reference adaptive controlled system.

  • This paper proposes an intelligent controller for brushless DC motor and load with unknown nonlinear dynamics. The proposed intelligent control system consists of a plant identifier and PID controller with varying gains. The identifier is constructed using an Auto Regressive Moving Average (ARMA) model. In order to tune the parameters of the identifier and the gains of the PID controller efficiently, e also propose a modified Evolution Strategy. Experimental results show that the proposed intelligent controller for brushless DC motor has good control performance under unknown disturbance.

  • Brushless DC motors have a trapezoidal back EMF wave form and are fed with rectangular stator currents. Under these conditions, the torque produced is theoretcally constant. However, in practice, torque ripple may exist, one major cause of which conies from phase current commutation. In this paper we propose an improved method of reducing the torque ripple due to phase current commutation of indirectly restricting the uncommutated current through control of the other phase currents. Simulation results are present.

  • 최근 동기발전기에 각종 brushless여자방식이 고안되고 있으나 공통된 개발 목표란 신뢰도와 경제성에 있다. 이것은 구성재료의 발달과 반도체의 개발이 크게 작용하였으며 종래의 직류여자기에 비하여 전기적인 섭동부의 완전 제거와 동시에 보다 소형경량화된 동기발전기의 개혁이 필요하다고 본다. 실제 동기발전기에서 전기자와 계자사이에 energy전달은 불가피한 기본원리로서 전기적인 방식과 자기적인 방법으로 구분할 수 있다. 전자는 도체의 섭동 즉 commutator, seipring brush의 마모와 기계적 손실이 있어 신뢰도가 낮은 반면 적은 여자전력으로 가능하나 자기적인 방식은 공극의 reluctance로 인하여 여자전력이 증가한다. 이러한 문제점을 해결할 수단으로서 commutatorless, static excitation, exciterless, harmonics excitation 방식 등이 고안되고 있으나 섭동부의 완전제거란 불가능하여 본고에서는 동기발전기를 중심으로 Brushless여자방식의 종류와 원리에 대하여 이론적으로 해설하고자 한다.

Design Optimization and Development of Linear Brushless Permanent Magnet Motor

  • A method of design optimization for minimization of force ripple and maximization of thrust force in a linear brushless permanent magnet motor without finite element analysis is represented. The design optimization method calculated the driving force in the function of electric and geometric parameters of a linear brushless PM motor using the sequential quadratic programming method. Using electric and geometric parameters obtained by this method, the normalized force ripple is reduced 7.7% (9.7% to 2.0%) and the thrust force is increased 12.88N (111.55N to 124.43N) compared to those not using design optimization.

  • In a permanent magnet brushless dc motor, cogging torque is produced by the magnetic attraction between the rotor mounted permanent magnets and the stator teeth. This always produces a pulsating torque ripple resulting in vibration and acoustic noise, which is detrimental to the motor performance. This paper deals with the analytical prediction of cogging torque and the various cogging torque minimization techniques as applied to a permanent magnet brushless dc motor.

  • High-speed brushless permanent magnet machines are good for compressor and aerospace applications, etc. since they are conductive to high efficiency, high power density, small size and low weight. This paper presents 3-phase permanent magnet brushless AC Motor designed for the high-speed drives. Especially, we predicted the inverter high frequency pulse width modulation (PWM) switching caused eddy current losses in a permanent magnet brushless dc motor.
