Background: Evaluation of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)-strand break is important to elucidate the biological effect of ionizing radiations. The conventional methods for DNA-strand break evaluation have been achieved by Agarose gel electrophoresis and others using an electrical property of DNAs. Such kinds of DNA-strand break evaluation systems can estimate DNA-strand break, according to a molecular weight of DNAs. However, the conventional method needs pretreatment of the sample and a relatively long period for analysis. They do not have enough sensitivity to detect the strand break products in the low-dose region. Materials and Methods: The sample is water, methanol and plasmid DNA solution. The plasmid DNA pUC118 was multiplied by using Escherichia coli JM109 competent cells. The resonance frequency and Q-value were measured by means of microwave dielectric absorption spectroscopy. When a sample is located at a center of the electric field, resonance curve of the frequency that existed as a standing wave is disturbed. As a result, the perturbation effect to perform a resonance with different frequency is adopted. Results and Discussion: The resonance frequency shifted to higher frequency with an increase in a concentration of methanol as the model of the biological material, and the Q-value decreased. The absorption peak in microwave power spectrum of the double-strand break plasmid DNA shifted from the non-damaged plasmid DNA. Moreover, the sharpness of absorption peak changed resulting in change in Q-value. We confirmed that a resonance frequency shifted to higher frequency with an increase in concentration of the plasmid DNA. Conclusion: We developed a new technique for an evaluation of DNA damage. In this paper, we report the evaluation method of DNA damage using microwave dielectric absorption spectroscopy.
In text-to-speech systems, the conversion of text into prosodic parameters is necessarily composed of three steps. These are the placement of prosodic boundaries. the determination of segmental durations, and the specification of fundamental frequency contours. Prosodic boundaries. as the most important and basic parameter. affect the estimation of durations and fundamental frequency. Break prediction is an important step in text-to-speech systems as break indices (BIs) have a great influence on how to correctly represent prosodic phrase boundaries, However. an accurate prediction is difficult since BIs are often chosen according to the meaning of a sentence or the reading style of the speaker. In Japanese, the prediction of an accentual phrase boundary (APB) and major phrase boundary (MPB) is particularly difficult. Thus, this paper presents a method to complement the prediction errors of an APB and MPB. First, we define a subtle BI in which it is difficult to decide between an APB and MPB clearly as a variable break (VB), and an explicit BI as a fixed break (FB). The VB is chosen using the classification and regression tree, and multiple prosodic targets in relation to the pith and duration are then generated. Finally. unit-selection is conducted using multiple prosodic targets. In the MOS test result. the original speech scored a 4,99. while proposed method scored a 4.25 and conventional method scored a 4.01. The experimental results show that the proposed method improves the naturalness of synthesized speech.
In this paper, the relation between the vibration and the sound radiated due to the piezoelectric ESWL (Extra-corporeal Shock Wave Lithotripter) is examined And the relation between the focus and the vibration of the objects is examined. The same experiments with the objects that can be breton are done and the relation between the vibration and the break efficiency of the phantom is experimentally investigated. These results show that the relativity between the power of the peak frequency and the break efficiency can be confirmed.
Up to the present time, laminated insulators have been used for the insulation of electrical apparatus. The reason to use laminated insulators is based on the fact that electrical break-down voltage depends on the weak spot theory. If thin insulators are laminated, the weak spot existence probability across the electrodes decreases according to the number of lamination. In this test, the effect of the number of lamination and the thickness of each lamination sheets on their break-down voltage are discussed. The results taken as a whole indicate; (1) The break-down voltage of laminated insulators composed of thin sheets are higher than those of thick sheets, however, the voltage may become the same beyond any definite thickness of laminated insulators. (2) When the lamination sheets becomes thinner, the variation of break-down voltage is great according to the number of lamination sheets. (3) It may by effective to use laminated insulators even when the insulators are aparted from the electrodes.
In this paper, the relation between the radiated sound and the vibration due to piezoelectric ESWL(Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripter) is examined and the results of the experiments are represented. Next, the relation between the focal point and the vibration of the objects is examined. The same experiments with the objects that can be broken are done and the relation between the vibration and the break efficiency of the phantom is experimentally investigated. These results show that the relativity between the power of the peak frequency and the break efficiency can be confirmed.

For the Radio Frequency Integrated Passive Device (RFIPD) application, we have successfully developed and characterized high break-down voltage metal-insulator-metal (MIM) capacitors with 2,000 ${\AA}$ plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) silicon nitride which deposited with $SiH_4/NH_3$ gas mixing rate, working pressure, and RF power of PECVD at $250^{\circ}C$ chamber temperature. At the PECVD process condition of gas mixing rate (0.957), working pressure (0.9 Torr), and RF power (60 W), the AFM RMS value of about 2,000 ${\AA}$ silicon nitride on the bottom metal was the lowest of 0.862 nm and break-down electric field was the highest of about 8.0 MV/cm with the capacitance density of 326.5 $pF/mm^2$.
In this note, we present a different asymptotes from the standard approximate lines of the Bode magnitude plot. Wherein the pseudo break frequency is defined in terms of coefficients of denominator and numerator polynomials of the transfer function instead of its poles and zeros. Several comparative examples are given. This result can be used for the characteristic ratio assignment(CRA) [1], [2] with frequency response requirements, which is a method of designing linear controller in parameter space.

We present the results from analysis of the Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) for the 4 Hz quasi-periodic oscillations (QPO) around the black hole X-ray binary XTE J1550-564. The resultant Hilbert spectra demonstrate that the QPO is composed of a series of intermittent signals appearing occasionally. From the analysis of the HHT, we further found the distribution of the lifetimes for the intermittent oscillations and the distribution for the time intervals with no significant signal (the break time). The mean lifetime is 1.45 s and 90% of the oscillation segments have lifetimes less than 3.1 s whereas the mean break time is 0.42 s and 90% of break times are less than 0.73 s. We conclude that the intermittent feature of the QPO could be explained by the Lense-Thirring precession model and rules out interpretations of continual frequency modulation.

In this paper, In this paper, we use two methods to compare the slim speakers. That way, the diaphragm scan using laser and diaphragm photographed using a thermal imaging camera. Slim speaker has the structure of a flat plate type. Break-up mode by this characteristic is displayed in a larger size. Further, since the installation space is narrow, it has limited moving coil cooling. As a result, the break-up mode slim speakers, a significant impact on quality. In this study, try to connect the break-up mode of the diaphragm, the heat transfer mode of the diaphragm. Experiment for comparison, a two-step. The first step is to measure the divided vibration through the vibration plate scan. The second step measures the diaphragm photographed using a thermal imaging camera. Then, compare the results of both of the same frequency. Thus, comparing the heat transfer pattern and the pattern of break-up mode. Tend to be analysis of break-up mode from the pattern comparison, and document for the optimum design.
This is a dissertation is in urgent announce of the domestic legislation about bungee jumping. A bungee jumping operator puts the blame on us for causing the bungee jumping accident but before calling it, equipment of bungee jumping was old and deficient. Fee of bungee jumping is fifty thousand won. A rope seller has raised the price, as operator break the rope used limit. So that is reasonable price. Even now, operator break the rope used limit and legislation about bungee jumping is nonexistent so bungee jumping accidents occur with frequency in domestic.
