Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify factors that affect decision-making for e-commerce users and to present ecommerce companies with the company's strategic directions for consumer purchases. Research design, data, and methodology: In this study, a structured research model was derived to confirm the relationship between brand image, product liking, heuristic and purchase intention and the difference according to psychological power. For analysis a total of 212 valid questionnaires from e-commerce users were used. confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equations were conducted to verify. Results: Both brand image and product liking had a significant effect on purchase intention as well as heuristics. However, heuristics did not affect the purchase intention. It was found that the relationship between brand image, product liking, heuristic, and purchase intention differed depending on the psychological power. Conclusions: Companies should seek ways to increase the positive brand image and likability of products so that consumers can quickly purchase products. In the relationship between brand image and heuristic, the low-psychological group has more influence on heuristic, and in case of product liking, the high-psychological group has more influence on heuristic. In the relationship between brand image and product liking for purchase intention, both in the high psychological power group affect more influence on purchase intention. Since the process of purchasing products varies depending on the consumer psychological power tendency, it is necessary to identify the characteristics of consumers and establish strategies for purchasing promotion measures.

The current research aims to explore which type of identity-based message can be more persuasive for Chinese consumers to form positive restaurant brand attitude based on their cultural orientation, and to examine the roles of brand objective relevance and psychological power state in the persuasive process. The study employs a 2(identity expression focus: warmth vs. competence) × 2(message description manner: identity-defining vs. identity-referencing) × 2(experienced power state: high vs. low) between-subjects design, and conducts an online survey where 240 Chinese participants in total has responded to the questionnaires. SPSS and AMOS programs have been used to examine the hypotheses. The findings suggest that, first, the warmth-focused messages (identity-defining messages) more positively affected Chinese consumers' object relevance than the competence-focused messages (identity-referencing messages); Second, high power-experienced Chinese consumers rather than low power consumers tend to perceive more object relevance at the warmth self-defining messages; Third, brand object relevance revealed a mediation effect in the process of the warmth-focused messages (identity-defining messages) affecting brand attitude. This research offers new insight into the relationships between consumers' cultural orientation, understandings of power, and identity-based consumer behavior, suggesting marketers should take those social influences and consumer diversities into account when developing the message to persuade consumers.

Brands play a critical role as a core asset and the primary driver for corporate growth because of their power of identity and influence on customers' perceptions in restaurant industry. However, in spite of diverse and dynamically changing recent brand portfolio strategies of restaurants, a study on the effect of brand diversification on financial performance has been rarely conducted in the restaurant industry context. Considering competing viewpoints regarding diversification's influence on financial performance, the purpose of this study is, therefore, to examine the effect of brand diversification on firm performance of restaurants. The results indicated that brand diversification is positive effect to profitability. Brand diversification seems to be attractive and might be a reasonable growth strategy to expand market power by satisfying diverse consumer needs. Therefore, restaurant managers should be consider in implementing brand diversification strategy especially in dynamically changing trend of brand diversification in the current restaurant industry.

The earlier studies have verified that brand values have significant impact on financial values such as stock return and stock price to justify marketing costs for brand building. Except for Mizik and Jacobson (2008), however, little research has addressed what kinds of brand components composing brand values have a significant relationship with financial values. As a follow-up research of Mizik and Jacobson (2008), this research focuses on what kinds of relationships exist between the unanticipated change of each brand asset component and stock return, one of the financial values. The authors selected six brand asset components from the Korea-Brand Power Index(K-BPI) data in which 'Top of Mind,' 'Unaided Awareness,' and 'Aided Awareness' are brand awareness measures and 'Image,' 'Purchase Intention,' and 'Preference' are brand loyalty measures. Out of those six brand components, they found that unanticipated changes of 'Top of Mind,' 'Unaided Awareness,' 'Image,' and 'Preference' have significantly positive effect on unexpected stock return change. Therefore, they conclude that these four brand asset components provide incremental information in explaining unanticipated stock return.
