Effect of Composition Size of Sintered Body and Electrode on Resonant Characteristics of $Pb(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3 PbTiO_3-PbZrO_3$ Piezoelectric Ceramics (소결체 및 전극의 크기와 조성이 $Pb(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3 PbTiO_3-PbZrO_3$계 압전세라믹스의 공진특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of composition size of sintered body and electrode on resonant characteristics of the system $Pb(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3 PbTiO_3-PbZrO_3$ has been decribed. Composition ranged from X=40 to X=55 diameter of sintered body ranged from D=6.5 to D=12.5(mm) and diameter of electrode ranged from De=5.5 to De=11 (mm) In the composition of morphotropic phase boundary antiresonant frequency (fa) dcreased slowly whereas resonant frequency (fr) decreased rapidly on the ground of this Δf(fa-fr) and electromechanical coupling fractor Kp increased and Qm showed low value. On the contrary in toward the composition of tetragonal and rhombo-hedral fa increased slowly whereas fr increased rapidly on the ground of this Δf and Kp decreased and Qm increased abruptly. Substance of the above statements have no concern with size of sintered body and ele-ctrode. The other side as the size of electrode decreased Qm fr, fa and Δf increased. Cm and Co dominantly affect the resonant frequency and antiresonant frequency.

Characteristics of Flow over a Pair of Circular Cylinders in a Side-by-Side Arrangement (나란히 배열된 한 쌍의 원형실린더를 지나는 유동 특성)

  • Two-dimensional flow over a pair of circular cylinders in a side-by-side arrangement at low Reynolds numbers has been numerically investigated in this study Numerical simulations are performed, using the immersed boundary method, for the ranges of 40$\leq$Re$\leq$160 and $g^{*}$<5, where Re and $g^{*}$ are, respectively, the Reynolds number and the spacing between the two cylinder surfaces divided by the cylinder diameter. Results show that a total of six kinds of wake patterns are observed over the ranges: antiphase-synchronized, inphase-synchronized, flip-flopping, single bluff-body, deflected, and steady wake patterns. It is found that the characteristics of the flow significantly depends both on the Reynolds number and gap spacing, with the latter much stronger than the former. Instantaneous flow fields, time traces, flow statistics and so on are presented to identify the wake patterns and then to understand the underlying mechanism. Moreover, the bifurcation phenomenon where either of two wake patterns can occur is found at certain flow conditions.ons.

  • The characteristics of near wakes of circular cylinders with serrated fins are investigated experimentally using a hot-wire anemometer for various freestream velocities. Near wake structures of the fin tubes are observed using a phase average technique. With increasing fin height and decreasing fin pitch. oscillation of streamwise velocity increases. It file oscillation of lateral velocity decreases. The time averaged V-component velocity distribution of the finned tube is contrary to that of the circular cylinder due to the different strength of entrainment flow. This strength is affected by the distance of (equation omitted) = 1.0 contour lines. (equation omitted) = 1.0 contour line approaches to the wake center line when the fin density is increased. When the distance between (equation omitted) = 1.0 contour lines comes close the shear force should be increased and the flow toward the wake center line can be more strengthened because of the shear force. Factors related to the velocity recovery in the near wake of the finned tube are attributed to tile turbulent intensity, the boundary layer thickness. the position and strength of entrainment process.

Stabilization Characteristics of DME-Air Diffusion Flames Depending on the Configuration of the Fuel-Air Tubes in Half Closed Combustion Spaces (반밀폐 연소공간 내 동축관 형상에 따른 DME-공기 확산화염의 안정화 특성)

  • The effects of configuration of fuel and air tubes on the flame stabilization were experimentally investigated in half-closed combustors. Flame behaviors and stabilities of methane, propane, and DME flames were compared by changing tube diameters and the locations of the fuel and air tubes. It was found that flammability limits are significantly affected by the outlet boundary condition, which disturbs compositions of burned and unburned mixtures near the flame base. And it was found that there exist critical inner tube heights, over which flame stability is determined only by the fuel flow rate. Conclusively, flame stabilization is governed by the flame propagation velocity in an ordinary mixing flow and the non-uniform mixture concentration in the combustion space which is affected by flow recirculation and the combustor configuration. The compositions of $NO_x$ and CO were compared to know basic characteristics of methane, propane, and DME flames.

  • Numerical analysis has been carried out to investigate air-side convective heat transfer characteristics in compact heat exchanger with flat tubes and continuous plate fins having a symmetric and non-symm etric staggered arrangements. Simulation results such as air velocity and temperature distributions are presented, and heat transfer coefficients are compared with previous experimental results. In order to investigate the flow and heat transfer features by periodic boundary conditions, the three blocks were used. Predicted heat transfer coefficients between the three blocks are similar while there are relatively differences, compared with the experimental data. From the calculated results a correlation for Colburn j factor in the compact heat exchanger system is suggested. The predicted results in this study can be applied to the optimal design of air conditioning system.

  • The bisexuality deconstructivity and diversity that are great characteristics on the comtemporary fashion are showed in the fashion collections. The purpose of this paper is to investigate and analyze the influence of these characteristics made by the post modern-feminism fashion through the cultural pattern analysis. The post modern-feminism was analyzed by dividing the cultural pattern into 1) the deconstructivity of androcentrism -This characteristic was presented in the costume design that breaks the basic from of the line color and quality of the material showing in men's clothes. 2) By rejecting main current fashion -Subculture style appeared in main current fashion the boundary of main and anti-main current fashion was vagued and the phenomena that the identity of subgroup was weakened were showed. 3) In the coexistence of double-sided value -This characteristic was presented in the cross-dressing fashion that cut away women's slender part and men's rough part. 4) In the open-minded thought of gender -This tendency was reached an extreme from excessive exposure to design which gives the sexual stimulus. This paper is expected to be helpful to understand the contemporary fashion by treating the cultural category associated with post-modern feminism in relation to contemporary fashion and to establish the direction of 21 century fashion.

  • The combustion characteristics of the hybrid catalytic(catalytic+thermal) combustor with a lean methane-air mixture on platinum catalyst were investigated numerically using a 2-D boundary layer model with detailed homogeneous and heterogeneous chemistries. for the more accurate calculations, the actual surface site density of monolith coated with platinum was decided by the comparison with experimental data. It was found that the homogeneous reactions in the monolith had little effect on the change of temperature profile, methane conversion rate and light off location. However, the radicals such as OH and CO were produced rapidly at exit by homogeneous reactions. The effect of operation conditions such as equivalence ratio, temperature, velocity, pressure and diameter of the monolith channel at the entrance were studied. In thermal combustor, the production of N$_2$O was more dominant than that of NO due to the relative importance of the reaction N$_2$+O(+M)→N$_2$O(+M). Finally the productions of CO and NOx by amount of methane addition were studied.

  • Most of studies, using ESPI method, have handled tension, thermal and vibration analysis, and is limited to isotropic materials. However, tension and vibration simultaneously are loaded in real structure. Also, almost study using ESPI method is locally limited to the analysis on the isotropic materials and a few studies on the anisotropic materials have reported. Existing methods, such as the accelerometer method and FEA method, to analyze vibration have some disadvantages. Using the accelerometer method that is generally used to analyze vibration phenomena, it is impossible to analyze vibration on the oscillating body and one can observe no vibration mode shape during experiment. In case of the FEA method, it is difficult to define boundary conditions correctly if the shape of a body tested is complex, and one can just obtain vibration mode shapes on the peak amplitude in each modes. In this study, plane plate of stainless steel(STS304), isotropic material, that is used as structural steel is analyzed about vibration characteristics under tension. Also, in the study of stainless steel, the characteristics of composite material(AS4/PEEK) used as high strength structural material in aircraft is evaluated about vibration under tension, and studies the effect of tension on vibration.

A Study on the Pitting Corrosion Resistance of Laser Surface Treated Nickel-Base Alloy (레이저 표면처리된 Nickel-Base 합금의 공식 저항성 연구)

  • The effect on the pitting corrosion resistance of laser welding and surface treatment developed as a repair method of stream generator tubing material that was a major component of primary system at nuclear power plant was observed. Some heat-treated Alloy 600 tubing materials used at domestic nuclear power plants were laser-surface observed. Some heat-treated Alloy 600 tubing materials used at domestic nuclear power plants were laser-surface melted and the microstructural characteristics were examined. The pitting corrosion resistance was examined through Ep(pitting potential) and degree of pit generation by means of the electrochemical tests and the immersion tests respectively. The pit formation characteristics were investigated through microstructural changes and the pit initiation site and pit morphology. The test results showed that the pitting corrosion resistances was increased in the order of the followings; sensitized Alloy 600, solution annealed alloy600, and laser surface melted Alloy 600. Pits were initiated preferably at Ti-containing inclusions and their surroundings in all tested specimens and it is believed that higher pitting resistance of laser-surface treated Alloy 600 was caused by fine, homogeneous distribution of non-soluble inclusions, the disappearance of grain boundary, and the formation of dense, stable oxide film. The major element of corrosion products filled in the pit was Cr. On the other hand, Fe was enriched in the deposit formed on the pit.

Implementation of an Interleaved AC/DC Converter with a High Power Factor

  • An interleaved bridgeless buck-boost AC/DC converter is presented in this paper to achieve the characteristics of low conduction loss, a high power factor and low harmonic and ripple currents. There are only two power semiconductors in the line current path instead of the three power semiconductors in a conventional boost AC/DC converter. A buck-boost converter operated in the boundary conduction mode (BCM) is adopted to control the active switches to achieve the following characteristics: no diode reverse recovery problem, zero current switching (ZCS) turn-off of the rectifier diodes, ZCS turn-on of the power switches, and a low DC bus voltage to reduce the voltage stress of the MOSFETs in the second DC/DC converter. Interleaved pulse-width modulation (PWM) is used to control the switches such that the input and output ripple currents are reduced such that the output capacitance can be reduced. The voltage doubler topology is adopted to double the output voltage in order to extend the useable energy of the capacitor when the line voltage is off. The circuit configuration, principle operation, system analysis, and a design example are discussed and presented in detail. Finally, experiments on a 500W prototype are provided to demonstrate the performance of the proposed converter.
