Most object detection methods use a horizontal bounding box that causes problems between adjacent objects with arbitrary directions, resulting in misaligned detection. Hence, the horizontal anchor should be replaced by a rotating anchor to determine oriented bounding boxes. A two-stage process of delineating a horizontal bounding box and then converting it into an oriented bounding box is inefficient. To improve detection, a box-boundary-aware vector can be estimated based on a convolutional neural network. Specifically, we propose a ResNeXt101 encoder to overcome the weaknesses of the conventional ResNet, which is less effective as the network depth and complexity increase. Owing to the cardinality of using a homogeneous design and multi-branch architecture with few hyperparameters, ResNeXt captures better information than ResNet. Experimental results demonstrate more accurate and faster oriented object detection of our proposal compared with a baseline, achieving a mean average precision of 89.41% and inference rate of 23.67 fps.

A Formulation based on macroelement concept is developed to analysis the prestressed concrete box girder bridges. The proposed method enables to model the arbitrary shapes and boundary conditions of prestressed concrete box girder bridges. The validity of the algoriyhm is demonstrated through comparisons with other results.
The buckling behavior of the web of steel girders are largely dependent on the size and the location of stiffeners and the restraining effect of top and bottom flanges. Elastic and inelastic buckling analyses based or the Spline Finite Strip Method were executed to study the stiffening effect of the longitudinal stiffener on the web of box girders and to find how the top and bottom flanges had effects on the web, where geometric boundary conditions were limited by both hinged, both fixed and the flange sections. The basic assumption for the longitudinal end boundary conditions was that the vertical stiffeners had the rigidity enough to force nil deflection line on the web panel so that the junction line between web and vertical stiffener was assumed to be hinged boundary conditions. The provisions on the longitudinal stiffener of the plate and box girders of the Korean Standard Highway Bridge Specifications(1995) and AASHTO Specifications(1994 LRFD) were compared with the results obtained numerically for the various longitudinal stiffener size of box girders. Simple equations and design curves for the longitudinal stiffener of the web were proposed for the practical use.
Improving the stability of the ground in seismic design requires an understanding of the dynamic behavior of the ground under seismic loads. The shaking table test is an important methodology to provide this understanding. This study aimed to assess the influence on boundary conditions, as they are among the most important factors affecting the test. This was achieved by testing the influence of boundary conditions on the seismic responses of model slopes at different locations in the testing apparatus. A model slope was fabricated at different locations in a laminar shear box, and the influence of the boundary conditions was then measured. Each model slope was created at 100, 50, and 25 cm from the soil wall, and sine wave seismic loads of the same size were inputted. The results confirmed that the acceleration was amplified by the influence of the boundary in the case of the slope being located 25 cm from the boundary, whereas the influence of the boundary conditions decreased when the slope was located at 50~100 cm.
The stress and vibration analysis of stiffened box structure is investigated by experiment and FEM analysis. The effects of stiffener number and box section shape on the structure response are presneted. The 1st natural frequency of stiffened folded byx structure with a stiffeners is 300 Hz. It is highter than that of stiffened rectangular box structure with 5 stiffeners, which is 251 Hz. Maximum deflection of folded box structure with thickness of 1 mm is lower than that of rectangular box structure with thickness of 1 or 2 mm. The natural frequencies of box structures are increeased with the number of stiffener, while the deflections are decreased with the number of box structures. When we compare between fundamental frequency (251 Hz) of stiffened (with 5 stiffeners) and one (137.64 Hz) of unstiffened rectangular box structure under clamped-clamped boundary condition, the ratio of frequency increase is 82%. The stiffened structures of 2 mm thickness can reduced to 120% of maximum deflection of 1 mm thickness rectangular box structures.
In this study, we conducted verification of key influencing factors during cone penetration testing using the developed Mini Cone Penetration Tester (Mini-CPT), and compared the experimental results with empirical formulas to validate the equipment. The Mini-CPT was designed to measure cone penetration resistance through a Strain Gauge, and the resistance values were calibrated using a Load Cell. Moreover, the influencing factors were verified using a model ground constituted in a soil box. The primary influencing factors examined were the boundary effect of the soil box, the distance between cone penetration points, and the cone penetration speed. For the verification of these factors, the experiment was conducted with the model ground having a relative density of 63.76% in the soil box. It was observed that the sidewall effect was considerably significant, and the cone penetration resistance measured at subsequent penetration points was higher due to the influence between penetration points. However, within the speed range considered, the effect of penetration speed was almost negligible. The measured cone penetration resistance was compared with predicted values obtained from literature research, and the results were found to be similar. It is anticipated that using the developed Mini-CPT for constructing model grounds in the laboratory will lead to more accurate geotechnical property data.
In this study, the response acceleration amplification according to different conditions was analyzed by changing the boundary condition of the soil called LSB (Laminar Shear Box), which is placed on a 1 g shaking table for earthquake simulation experiments. Experiments were carried out with different boundary conditions by fixing both sides of the LSB, and two samples were tested by installing an accelerometer at the same location. In addition, using DEEPSOIL v7 program, a one-dimensional ground response analysis was performed to compare and analyze with the free field condition. As a result, it was confirmed that the acceleration was amplified as it went from the lower layer to the upper layer, and as a result of comparing it with the ground response analysis, it was confirmed that it appeared similar to the analysis under the free field condition. As a result of the SA (Spectrum acceleration) analysis, a result similar to that of the ground response analysis was obtained, and in the case of fixing, it was confirmed that the PSA (Peak Spectral Acceleration) was further amplified.
Laminar-shear-boxes are widely used to simulate free-field seismic ground response by using a l-g shaking table or geo centrifuge in geotechnical earthquake engineering. This study numerically modeled and compared the ground responses in the free field, rigid box, and laminar shear box by using a 3-D FEM program. It is found from the numerical simulations that the laminar shear box can simulate the free field ground movement more precisely than the rigid box. However, the laminar shear box underestimated the surface acceleration of the free field ground. It also showed low-frequency characteristics probably because the stiffness and inertia effect of surrounding ground are neglected.
For any fixed $\lambda\leq-\frac{1}{2}$, there exists $f(\eta){\in}C^1[0,+\infty)$ which satisfies the following nonlinear boundary value problem f'+ff'+$\lambda(l-f'^2)=0$ a.e.in $(0,+\infty)$, f(0)=0, f'(0) = 0, $f'(+\infty)=1$, which arises in boundary layer theory in fluid mechanics.
For the spatially coupled free vibration analysis of composite box beams resting on elastic foundation under the axial force, the exact solutions are presented by using the power series method based on the homogeneous form of simultaneous ordinary differential equations. The general vibrational theory for the composite box beam with arbitrary lamination is developed by introducing Vlasov°Øs assumption. Next, the equations of motion and force-displacement relationships are derived from the energy principle and explicit expressions for displacement parameters are presented based on power series expansions of displacement components. Finally, the dynamic stiffness matrix is calculated using force-displacement relationships. In addition, the finite element model based on the classical Hermitian interpolation polynomial is presented. To show the performances of the proposed dynamic stiffness matrix of composite box beam, the numerical solutions are presented and compared with the finite element solutions using the Hermitian beam elements and the results from other researchers. Particularly, the effects of the fiber orientation, the axial force, the elastic foundation, and the boundary condition on the vibrational behavior of composite box beam are investigated parametrically. Also the emphasis is given in showing the phenomenon of vibration mode change.
