  • Proportional Fair (PF) share policy has been adopted as a downlink scheduling scheme in CDMA2000 l×EV-DO standard. Although It offers optimal performance in aggregate throughput conditioned on equal time share among users, it cannot provide a bandwidth guarantee and a strict delay bound. which is essential requirements of real-time (RT) applications. In this study, we propose a new scheduling policy that provides quality-of-service (QoS) guarantees to a variety of traffic types demanding diverse service requirements. In our policy data traffic is categorized Into three classes, depending on sensitivity of Its performance to delay or throughput. And the primary components of our policy, namely, Proportional Fair (PF), Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ), and delay-based prioritized scheme are intelligently combined to satisfy QoS requirements of each traffic type. In our policy all the traffic categories run on the PF policy as a basis. However the level of emphasis on each of those ingredient policies is changed in an adaptive manner by taking into account the channel conditions and QoS requirements. Such flexibility of our proposed policy leads to offering QoS guarantees effectively and. at the same time, maximizing the throughput. Simulations are used to verify the performance of the proposed scheduling policy. Experimental results show that our proposal can provide guaranteed throughput and maximum delay bound more efficiently compared to other policies.

  • The study examines the existence of twin deficit in two emerging economies (Turkey and Iran) and also investigates the relation of twin deficit with specific macroeconomic indicators such as the GDP, money supply, foreign direct investment, and the interest rate both in short and long-run periods. The twin-deficit concept refers to a situation where the current account deficit and budget deficits exist in the same corresponding period of an economy. This study employs the Bound Test Autoregressive lag distributed (ARDL) model on time-series quarterly secondary data of Turkey and Iran from 1992 to 2019. The stationarity of variables has been ensured through the Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) test at the level and the first difference. The results reveal the existence of a twin deficit in both the short and long-run periods only in Iran. Its existence could not be observed in the Turkish economy. The findings suggest a positive relationship between twin deficit and GDP, and a negative relationship between twin deficit and FDI and M2. At the same time, the relationship of the twin deficit with interest rate could not be found in the Iranian economy. The findings may be helpful for economic managers of both countries in executing their economic policies.

  • Approximations such as the delete-term approximation, rare event approximation, and minimal cutset upper bound (MCUB) need to be prudently applied for the quantification of a seismic probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) model. Important characteristics of seismic PSA models indicate that preserving the success branches in a primary seismic event tree is necessary. Based on the authors' experience in modeling and quantifying plant-level seismic PSA models, the effects of applying negate-down to the success branches in primary seismic event trees on the quantification results are summarized along with the following three insights gained: (1) there are two competing effects on the MCUB-based quantification results: one tending to increase and the other tending to decrease; (2) the binary decision diagram does not always provide exact quantification results; and (3) it is identified when the exact results will be obtained, and which combination provides more conservative results compared to the others. Complicated interactions occur in Boolean variable manipulation, approximation, and the quantification of a seismic PSA model. The insights presented herein can assist PSA analysts to better understand the important theoretical principles associated with the quantification of seismic PSA models.

  • Granules-bound starch synthase II (GBSSII), one of the isoforms of granule-bound starch synthase (GBSS), is responsible for amylose synthesis by expressing in non-storage tissues such as leaf, stem, root, and pericarp. Up to date, little is known about this gene functions and basic knowledge of heritable characteristics of this gene, GBSSII. We identified functional haplotypes and performed evolutionary analyses on the GBSSII using 374 rice accessions (320 Korean bred and 54 wild) based on the classified groups. A total of 14 haplotypes were found, and almost all haplotypes (13) were functional, carrying 19 non-synonymous SNPs in two exons (exons 1 and 2). The lowest nucleotide diversity was detected in Tropical japonica (0.00145), while the highest pi-value was in Aus (0.01081), illustrating the signal of this gene evolution. The highest Tajima's D value in Aus (1.6380) indicates GBSSII gene domestication signature under balancing selection, while the lowest Tajima's D value in Temperate japonica (-0.8243) highlights that they were under positive selection, which may be purified due to the excess of rare alleles. The highest genetic differentiation was observed between Tropical japonica and aroma (FST = 0.921928). In contrast, the highest interbreed level was detected in Aus-admixture (FST = -0.20157). The genetic relatedness between and or among the wild and cultivated subpopulations was revealed through PCA, population structure, and phylogenetic analyses.

  • The impact of gender, sex-role identity and cultural background on self - control behaviors was studied with the use of reports from 410 college students(201 Koreans and 209 Americans), who were administered both the Bem Sex Role Inventory and the Missouri Self Control Instrument. Gender, sex - role identity and cultural background significantly affected self - control and satisfaction. Regardless of cultural background, males showed a higher level of self - control and satisfaction than females. Androgenous students from both nations used a higher level of expressed/yielded self - control and more satisfied than the students with other sex - role identities. There were some differences in self - control between the Korean and American students. For the American students, the level of expressed self - control was the critical factor in explaining self - control behavior, whereas the level of yielded self - control was the critical factor for the Korean students. This was explained as a phenomenon of culture - bound relationships. Regardless of sex and sex - role identity, the level of satisfaction of Korean students was significantly lower than that of American students. The present results suggested that Korean students have some sort of conflict between self - control and satisfaction. The conflict can probably be attributed to the recent influx of western culture emphasizing goal - oriented control.

  • As new information and communication technologies evolve, security threats are also becoming increasingly intelligent and advanced. In this paper, we analyze the time series data continuously entered through a series of periods from the network device or lightweight IoT (Internet of Things) devices by using the statistical technique and propose a system to detect abnormal behaviors of the device or abnormality based on the analysis results. The proposed system performs the first level abnormal detection by using previously entered data set, thereafter performs the second level anomaly detection according to the trust bound configured by using stored time series data based on time attribute or group attribute. Multi-level analysis is able to improve reliability and to reduce false positives as well through a variety of decision data set.

  • For the measurement of liquid level in ship's cargo tank, ballast tank, fuel oil tank and fresh water tank, several types of gauge meter are used such as tubular type, magnetic float type, reflex type transparent type and welding pad type. Among them, magnetic float type gauge meter is environmental friendly device because it is free of power source and maintenance. The main obstacle of the device is relatively large error bound. In this paper, finite element method is used to design and analysis of the magnetic float type gauge meter. The operation of reed switch according to the magnetic field has been successfully described and agreed well with experimental measurement. The optimum geometry with combination of permanent magnet and reed switches are designed to achieve 98 % accuracy of fluid level.

  • To find compounds of immunomodulating and anti-allergic function, effects of protein-bound polysaccharides extracted from Phellinus igniarius (PI), Fomitella fraxinea (FF) and Agrocybe cylindracea (AC) on hemagglutinin titer (HA), hemolysin titer (HY), plaque forming cell (PFC), rosette forming cell (RFC) and phagocytosis were investigated in BALB/C mice. The oral administration of the protein-bound polysaccharides of PI, FF and AC for 10 days resulted in the enhanced phagocytic activity of peritoneal exudate cells (PEC), spleen cells (SC) and blood lymphocyte cells (BLC). Moreover, PI showed the activating effect on the phagocytosis of PEC and AC in SC. In the experiment of PFC and RFC, the results of the experimental group which was given each samples as compared to the control group, showed the enhanced level of activity such as PI 130%, FF 90% and AC 70%. Generally, HY and HA showed from ten to hundred times of level in each sample groups, as compared to the control group.

  • Choi Buk(1712-1786) is the master of three poems, caligraphy, paintings of the Middle Class Painter. There is a resisting cynicism against discrimination, a madly free and unbridled madness that is not bound by itself, and a master sense due to pride in his artistic talents. Madness and stubborn as an image of a unique painting through unworldly and clasical scholar oriented Muninhwa. His muninhwa has many poetic picture paintings where poetry and painting are one, and the technique of painting depicting objects is based on the power of the muscles and is a madness brush which is not bound anywhere. And it expresses the level of art in a higher level through the unconventional composition of the unconventional composition, the simplicity of the line, and the unique operation of margins and colors. His Muninhwa appeared naturally in the works of art, which is a pride of enterprising people and a belief that aesthetic pursuit of a change of the unchanging ones.

  • One main complexity of the copula constructions concerns a mismatch between morphology and syntactic constituency: the copula seems to form a morphological unit with the immediately preceding element, whereas in terms of syntax the copula appears to take this as its syntactic complement. In capturing such mismatches, we show that the copula is treated as an independent verb at the level of tectogrammatical structure (or syntax tree), whereas as a bound morpheme at the level of phonogram-matical structure (or domain tree), in terms of Dowty 1992 (or Reape 1994). This paper, adopting the notion of DOMAIN in HPSG, shows that copula constructions are a subtype of compacting-constructions. These constructions compact the domain value of the copula and that of its preceding element together into one domain unit, eventually making it inert to syntactic phenomena such as scrambling, deletion and pro-form substitution. This construction-based approach provides a clean analysis for the formation of the copula construction and related phenomena.
