Car Ride Safety and Comfort Analysis considering Low-frequency Vibration of Car Body

  • In this paper, we found that modification of the local flexibility (or local stiffness) of the 4 parts on which shock absorbers are mounted in the vehicle body has some influence the level of ride safety and comfort. Multi-body dynamic analysis considering the flexibility of the vehicle body is performed using MSC/ADAMS and MSC/NASTRAN. More concretely speaking, natural frequencies and mode shapes computed by MSC/NASTRAN are used as input data for multi-body dynamic analysis in MSC/ADAMS. It is confirmed that the ride comfort can be improved by appropriately changing the local stiffness of the vehicle body through several simulations using MSC/ADAMS.

운동요법, 운동.행동수정요법이 중년 비만여성의 비만도, 혈중지질 및 자아존중감에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Exercise Therapy and Exercise-Behavior Modification Therapy on Obesity, Blood Lipids, and Self-esteem of the Obese Middle-aged Women)

  • To examine the effect of the exercise therapy, and exercise-behavior modifi- cation therapy on obesity, blood lipids and self-esteem of the obese middle-aged women. Method: A total of 35 middle-aged women (BMI: over 30) were selected for this research. Walking at a 50% intensity was administered 4 days a week for 12 weeks, while the behavior modification therapy performed for 60~90 minutes per week for 12 weeks. Result: Body weight and BMI has significantly reduced in the case of EG and E BG. The result of comparing body weight between groups showed significant difference between EG and CG, and E BG and CG whereas BMI showed significant difference between EG and CG only. TC, TG, LDL-C, %TC/HDL-C have shown significant decrease in EG and E-BG, while HDL-C displayed significant increase in EG and E BG. And HDL-C showed significant decrease in CG. As for comparison between groups, significant difference was noted in EG and CG, and E BG and CG at TC, HDL-C, LDL-C, and in EG and CG at %TC/HDL-C. Self-esteem displayed significant increase in EG and E BG; however, there was no significant different in CG. As for comparison between groups, there was significant difference noted in E BG and CG only. Conclusion: The results showed that the exercise therapy and the exercise-behavior modification therapy were effective in changing obesity, blood lipids and self-esteem of the obese middle-aged women.

유한요소해석을 이용한 전동식 지게차의 진동저감 (Vibration Structure of an Electronic Forklift by Using the Finite Element Analysis)

  • In this paper, vibration sources of an electric forklift are identified and the forklift vibrations are reduced by structural modification by using the finite element analysis. From some experiments, it is also found that resonances occur because the natural frequencies of the forklift exist in usual driving speed range. To vibration sources of the electric forklift, the modeling is designed by using a commercial 3D CAD program CATIA and the finite element model is designed by a using finite element analysis program ANSYS which can perform modal analysis of flexible mode. To shift the natural frequencies out side the driving speed range, the frame part, the connection parts between main body and loader are modified to increase stiffness. It is verified that considerable amount of vibration are reduced by the structural modification.

차실 내부소음의 특성과 저감에 관한 실험적 고찰(상)

  • The nature and the sources of sound in cars is discussed in the light of many previous works, and the importance of the system resonances inside cars is suggested. An investigation of a 'boom' problem in a small size passenger car is described. It was established that the 'boom' frequencies coincided with engine firing frequency and also with several system resonances. To find out main transmission path of the noise to the car interior, various possible sources were eliminated from the investigation by means of simple modification to the vehicle. Data on the structural modes of the body, and the acoustic modes of the passenger compartment at various forcing cases were obtained to provide better understanding of the problem. It was found that the acoustic resonance responsible for the boom was controlled largely the bending motion of the floor. To investigate the effect of the structural modification to the acoustic response, center floor of the car was reinforced. a great reduction of the noise inside the car especially at the offending speed range, was achieved by this modification.

전동식 지게차의 진동저감에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Vibration Reduction of a Forklift with an Electric Motor)

  • In this paper, vibration sources of an electric forklift are identified and the forklift vibrations are reduced by structural modification. For vibration identification, vibration signals are measured by an accelerometer when the forklift is moving. These signals are presented in a waterfall plot in order to find the dependency of frequency components on the forklift speed. It is found that main vibration source is tire pattern excitation. From some experiments and finite element analyses, it is also found that resonances occur because the natural frequencies of the forklift exist in usual driving speed range. To shift the natural frequencies outside the driving speed range, the connection parts between main body and loader are modified to increase stiffness. It is verified that considerable amount of vibration are reduced by the structural modification.

  • In the prototype stage of a car developing program, the efficiency of trouble shooting is an important factor to be considered. Structural modifications by the design sensitivity analysis are applied to a steering wheel system for improving the idle vibration of the prototype passenger car. For the design sensitivity analysis, the experimental modal analysis for the steering system attached to a body-in-white is fulfilled and the modal parameters extracted from the experimental data are used to predict the effect of structural modification, The design sensitivity results rank the locations to be reinforced in terms of frequency variation. The modification of steering system according to the sensitivity analysis results shifted the resonant frequency of the system effectively. In addition, the idle test of the car after the structural modifications f steering system shows that the proposed method can reduce vibration of the steering wheel efficiently.

걷기운동과 행동수정 프로그램이 비만여중생의 체조성, 체력 및 대사증후군 관련인자에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Walking and Behavior Modification Program on Body Composition, Physical Fitness and Metabolic Syndrome Related Factors in Obese Girls)

  • 비만 여중생을 대상으로 하여 12주간 행동수정 프로그램을 포함한 걷기운동을 실시한 결과 비만 여중생의 체조성, 체력, 대사증후군의 유병률 및 대사증후군 위험인자에서 긍정적인 변화를 가져오는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 다중선형회 귀분석 결과 체조성의 상완위팔근육둘레, 허리둘레, 신체발달지수, 체수분, 체지방량의 개선과 체력의 50m달리기 향상이 BMI, WHR, HDL-C, 공복혈당, 수축기혈압, HOMA지수를 개선시킬 수 있는 것으로 나타나 유산소성 걷기운동과 행동수정 프로그램에 의한 식사량조절과 식습관 변화가 비만청소년에 있어서 대사증후군에 의한 심혈관질환과 당뇨병, 심리적 우울증에 효과적인 프로그램이 될 수 있다고 생각된다. 그러나 피험자 수가 적고, 실험기간이 짧아 실험결과를 일반화하기에는 주의가 필요하며, 실험이후에 학생들의 지속적 운동 습관을 유지하기 위한 프로그램의 개발이 필요하다고 생각된다.

다중 파라메트릭 변환곡선 기반 선수 선형 변환기법 연구 (Study on Hull Form Variation of Fore Body Based on Multiple Parametric Modification Curves)

  • In this paper, we propose a systematic hull form variation technique which automatically satisfies the displacement constraint and guarantees a high level of fairness. This method is possible through multiple parameter correction curves. The present method is to improve the hull form variation method based on parametric modification function and consists of two sub-categories: SAC variation and section lines modification. For SAC variation, the utilization of two B-Spline curves satisfying GC1 condition led to the satisfaction of displacement constraint and high level of fairness at the same time. Section lines modification methods involves in using two fuctions: the first is the waterplane modification function combining two cubic splines. the other function is the sectional area modification function consisting of 2nd order polynomial over the DLWL(Design Load Waterline) and 3rd order polynomial below the DLWL, This function enables not only the fundamental U-V section shape variation but also systematically modified section lines. The present method is expected to be more useful in the hull form optimization process using CFD compared to the existing method.

Walter Van Beirendonck 디자인에 나타난 미학 (Design Aesthetics of Walter Van Beirendonck)

  • Walter Van Beirendonck expresses a fairy tale world of perverted sexual desire of sadism and masochism, violence, and aggressiveness that breaks from a transient one-time concept as is an essential element of fashion. This study classifies the aesthetic characteristic shown on the design of Walter Van Beirendonck and analyzes the intent of his symbolism and meaning. The attempt has a meaning in exploring a new directionality of fashion by conveying a critical message to this end, contemporary fashion breaks down boundaries with artistic genre and connects a problematic consciousness that exists in life with fashion. The results of study on the aesthetic characteristics of Walter Van Beirendonck are as follows. First, Beirendonck emphasized an interpersonal image about body by giving a question through the deconstruction of image on a perfect body into race, age, and body based on body modification. Second, fetishism appeared as a consciousness that human identity and character can be changed by connecting a fetish element of sexual identity, and sadism and masochism with fashion's imagination. Third, infantilism as an amusement expression of the form metaphorically satirized life of modern people. Fourth, makeup shown on performance or festival of an African tribe was used in the way of mixture or reuse for ethnography to obtain inspiration from ethnography. Fifth, pop art combined a popular culture code as amusement through mass production and mass media. Aesthetics of Beirendonck do not have norm and are bold in using form, color, pattern, print, and styling because Beirendonck reinterpreted critical attitudes about essential problems that human life entails into a motif of his symbolic meaning in amusement. In regards to his design aesthetics, Beirendonck expanded fashion to the scope of Gesamtkunstwerk in a consistent and continued theme combined with philosophical creativity and differentiated from other fashion designers.

TTX 차량의 능동 현가장치 설치 및 수정 작업 개선을 위한 대차/차체 인터페이스 볼스터 개발 (Bogie/Carbody Interface Bolster Development for the Installation of Active Suspensions and the Modification Operation Improvement of TTX Vehicle)

  • The carbody underframe of TTX vehicle should be modified a lot for the installation of new devices such as an active suspension system between the bogie and the carbody of TTX vehicle, because the carbody underframe is one body structure consisting of a center sill welded with a carbody bolster. Modification operation of the carbody takes a lot of time and cost, because the huge sized carbody structure should be moved to a machining apparatus and machined to guarantee the manufacture accuracy of new device installation brackets. For this reason, modification operation improvement is needed to install new devices more efficiently between the bogie and the carbody. This paper introduce the development of 'bogie/carbody interface bolster' that not only supports the carbody weight but also enables new devices to be installed more efficiently between the bogie and the carbody. This development has advantage to reduce working time and cost to install new devices such as an active suspension system between the bogie and the carbody by minimizing the modification of the carbody of TTX vehicle.
