일부 신도시 고등학생의 식생활태도, 체위와 체력 변화에 대한 연구 (Effects of Eating Behavior and Body Fat on Exercise Performance of High School Students in Sungnam Area)

  • This study was carried out with 505(243 boys and 262 girls in the Sungnam area) high school students to investigate the effects of eating behavior and anthropometric variables of weight and height on excercise performance. General characteristics about subjects and eating behavior were surveyed by questionnaire, anthropometric data were collected using two methods. The weight and height of subjects in 1996 were measured, but the same data in 1995 were collected from health records of each student. Body fat content of subjects was measured by BIA(Body Impedance Analysis). The grades of exercise performance, which were evaluated by physical education teachers were collected from records of a physical strength test score of each subject. From these, the following result were found. Groups with different eating behaviors such as skipping meals, overeating, food preference for a specific food(milk, carbonated drink etc.) were significantly different in their weight and height and body fat contents. The growth rate of height in first and second grade boys was significantly higher than that for grade boys. The amount of weight gain from second grade to third grade was significantly more than that of other grades both for boys and girls. The mean of BMI was $21.66\pm{2.95}$ in boy, $21.50\pm{2.62}$ in girls. The percentage of body fat was $24.91\pm{6.55%}$ in boy $34.73\pm{4.88%}$ in girls. Amounts of body fat were significantly increased in third grade. The group with higher fat content and the higher BMI group had lower values of physical strength. And the ability to exercises perform decreased significantly by promotion of grade. The other variables such as degree of concern about weight control and preference of exercise, and frequencies of exercise per week were significant factors in body fat content and physical strength. As a countermeasure for these problems, nutrition and health education must be developed for adolescents and a practical, proper physical activity guidance campaign for them is necessary.

Electrochemical Behavior of Plasma Electrolytic Oxidized Films Formed in Solution Containing Mn, Mg and Si Ions

  • Titanium and its alloys that have a good biocompatibility, corrosion resistance, and mechanical properties such as hardness and wear resistance are widely used in dental and orthopedic implant applications. However, they do not form a chemical bond with bone tissue. Plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) that combines the high voltage spark and electro-chemical oxidation is a novel method to form ceramic coatings on light metals such as tita-nium and its alloys. This is an excellent re-producibility and economical, because the size and shape control of the nano-structure is relatively easy. Silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), and magne-sium (Mg) have a useful to bone. Particularly, Si has been found to be essential for normal bone, cartilage growth, and development. Mn influences regulation of bone remodeling be-cause its low content in body is connected with the rise of the concentration of calcium, phosphates and phosphatase out of cells. Pre-studies have shown that Mg plays very im-portant roles in essential for normal growth and metabolism of skeletal tissue in verte-brates and can be detected as minor constitu-ents in teeth and bone. In this study, Electrochemical behavior of plasma electrolytic oxidized films formed in solution containing Mn, Mg and Si ions were researched using various experimental in-struments. A series of Si-Mn-Mg coatings are produced on Ti dental implant using PEO, with the substitution degree, respectively, at 5 and 10%. The potentiodynamic polarization and AC impedance tests for corrosion behav-iors were carried out in 0.9% NaCl solution at similar body temperature using a potentiostat with a scan rate of 1.67mV/s and potential range from -1500mV to + 2000mV. Also, AC impedance was performed at frequencies anging from 10MHz to 100kHz for corrosion resistance.

소비음을 이용한 경피침주요법이 복부비만에 미치는 영향에 대한 임상연구 (The Effects of Sobi-eum(Xiaofei-yin) Mesotherapy on Abdominal Fat Distribution)

  • Objectives : This study was performed to figure out the effects of herbal mesotherapy on abdominal fat in obese women. Methods : Forty obese women those who were diagnosed abdominal obesity had been recruited during February, 2008. They were randomly assigned experimental or control group under block-randomization. Experimental group were treated with Sobi-eum(Xiaofei-yin) injection during 6 weeks (2 times a week) and placebo group were treated with normal saline injection under same procedures. Anthropometry, body impedance analysis, fat computed tomography, blood test, and questionnaires had been administered before and after the treatment. Results : Four subjects were dropped out (voluntary give up), so 18 in experimental group and 18 in placebo group were evaluated. There were significant changes after treatments in both groups. Although no significant differences have been found in the result of anthropometry, body impedance analysis and fat computed tomography between two groups, in the experimental group, the changes of total fat area had a highly significant relationship with all part of abdominal fat. While the placebo group had highly significant relationships with subcutaneous fat area, superficial and deep subcutaneous fat area but not with visceral fat area. Conclusions : Compaired with saline group, herbal mesotheraphy Sobi-eum(Xiaofei-yin) is effective in reduction of visceral fat after adjusting TFA.

제2형 당뇨병 환자에서 피부두겹두께의 측정부위 예측 및 비만지표들 간의 관련성 (Prediction of Suitable Site to Measure Abdominal Skin Fold Thickness and Correlation among Obesity Indicators in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to predict measuring site suited for abdominal skin fold thickness (ASFT) by measuring the distribution of abdominal subcutaneous fat thickness (AScFT) and ascertain the correlations among obesity indicators. Methods: The size of analysis materials was 124 secondary data measured by ultrasonic device, bioelectrical impedance analyzer and caliper. Data were analyzed using t-test, and Pearson's correlation. Results: The average of AScFT was 10.63± 6.79mm with its range 1.39-36.16 mm, and AScFT of female and of central parts were thicker than those of male and outer parts in the abdomen. The average of ASFT was 29.26±12.59 mm. Site 5 on Figure 1 was most similar to the average of AScFT in both sexes. Body mass index (BMI) and waist hip ratio (WHR) were 23.65±3.98 and 0.88±0.05 respectively. The body weight, BMI, WHR, visceral fat, ASFT vs AScFT revealed in significant correlation (r= .29, r= .55, r= .39, r= .33. r= .29). Conclusion: BMI and WHR seem more useful than other obesity indicators, when obesity control is necessary for Type 2 diabetes patients. Site 5 on Figure 1 is most suitable site to measure ASFT.

파크골프운동이 노인의 신체구성 및 수면에 미치는 영향 (The effect of Park Golf exercise on body composition and sleep of the elderly)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 파크골프 운동이 신체구성 및 수면에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 규명하는데 있다. 신체구성 측정은 다주파수임피던스측정기(Inbody720)를 이용하여 Weight, %BodyFat, BMI, WHR을 측정하였으며, 수면은 오진주 등(1998)의 수면측정도구로 측정하였다. 신체구성의 변화를 보면 실험군 집단에서 실험 전 체중 $60.56{\pm}6.25kg$, BMI $25.40{\pm}12.4kg/m^2$, %BodyFat$36.46{\pm}4.67%$, WHR $0.93{\pm}0.17$에서 12주후 체중 $58.3{\pm}7.16kg$, BMI $24.28{\pm}2.32kg/m^2$, %BodyFat $35.1{\pm}3.02%$, WHR $0.92{\pm}0.16$으로 유의한 감소(p<.05)가 나타났고, 수면점수의 변화를 살펴보면 운동프로그램 실시 후 실험군의 수면점수는 42.03에서 47.43으로 5.37증가하였고 대조군은 42.48에서 43.4로 0.94 증가하였으며 두 집단 간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 이 연구에서 수행한 12주간의 파크골프운동은 노인의 신체구성과 수면에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

알쏭이모자반 (Sargassum confusum) 주정추출물이 성인여성 체지방 감소에 미치는 영향 (The effect of Sargassum confusum on reduction of body fat in obese women)

  • 해조류인 알쏭이 모자반 추출물의 섭취로 인한 체지방 감소 효능을 평가하고자 이중맹검법을 사용하여 BMI 23 이상의 과체중 혹은 비만 성인 여성에게 8주간 알쏭이 모자반 추출물을 섭취하게 한 후 체격지수, 혈액 분석, 식사섭취상황 등을 조사하였다. 최종 대조군은 14명, 실험군은 16명이었으며 1일3회 각 4개의 캡슐을 섭취시켰다. 인체시험 결과 시험전후 비교시 대조군에 비하여 시험군의 체지방률과 체지방량, 허리둘레가 지속적으로 유의하게 감소하였으며 혈청 트리글리세롤과 렙틴농도가 더욱 유의하게 감소하였고 변배설량은 유의하게 증가하여 지방 배설효과를 기대할 수 있었다. 시험기간 동안 7명의 피험자가 심각하지 않은 부작용으로 시험에서 탈락하였으나 건강상 불편함을 호소하는 피험자 수의 두 군간의 차이는 보이지 않았다. 따라서 알쏭이 모자반 추출물은 8주간 섭취 시 심각한 부작용을 유발하지 않으면서 피험자의 허리둘레, 체지방율과 함께 혈청 렘틴 수치를 유의하게 감소시킬 수 있고 배변횟수를 유의하게 증가시켜 특히 복부비만을 해소할 수 있는 비교적 안전한 기능성 소재로 기대되므로 작용기전을 설명할 수 있는 심층 연구가 필요로 된다.

과체중.비만 소아에 대한 한방비만치료프로그램 효과 (The Effect of Management Program of Oriental Medicine for Obesity Control on Overweight and Obese Pediatrics)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of oriental treatment on pediatric overweight and obesity. Methods From the December 2006 to the May 2008, 19 children were treated of obesity control in J Korean Hospital, electrolipolysis, auricular acupuncture was done 2 times per week for 4 weeks with the consulting of diet and exercise. Nine children were treated for 9 weeks. We checked the change of weight at treatment time and the body composition measured by bioelectrical impedance analysis(BIA) per 2 weeks. Results After 4 weeks treatment, the weight loss was 2.67${\pm}$1.75kg. And after 9 weeks treatment, the weight loss of 9 children was 5.91${\pm}$2.73kg. Total fat mass measured by BIA significantly decreased 2.38${\pm}$1.19kg after 4 weeks. BMI and the weight loss of children were significantly correlated. After 4 weeks treatment the BMI significantly decreased 1.43${\pm}$0.89kg/m$^2$. After 8 weeks treatment the BMI of 9 children significantly decreased 3.31${\pm}$1.47kg/m$^2$. Conclusions The pediatric obesity could be effective treated by herdal medicine and electroacupuncture.

한국성인의 제2형 당뇨병 유무에 따른 체액 조성 차이 및 영양소 섭취량 분석 (Analysis of difference in body fluid composition and dietary intake between Korean adults with and without type 2 diabetes mellitus)

  • 본 연구는 한국인을 대상으로 제2형 당뇨병 환자와 질병이 없는 정상대조군을 비교하여 성별에 따른 체액 불균형 정도와 영양소 섭취량을 평가하고자 하였다. 조사대상자는 총 57명으로, T2DM이 있는 T2DM군 (n = 36)과 T2DM이 없는 정상대조군 (n = 21)으로 나누어 분석하고, 성별에 따른 체액량의 차이를 고려하여 남성 T2DM군 (n = 24), 남성 정상대조군 (n = 9), 여성 T2DM군 (n = 12), 여성 정상대조군 (n = 12)으로 세분화하여 지표들의 특징을 분석하였다. BIA를 통하여 연구대상자의 체액 조성을 분석한 결과, ECW/ICW는 T2DM군이 정상대조군보다 유의적으로 높았고, 부종지수를 나타내는 ECW/TBW는 T2DM군이 정상대조군보다 유의적으로 높게 나타났다. 성별에 따른 체액 조성을 분석한 결과, 남성과 여성 모두 T2DM군은 정상대조군보다 높은 ECW/ICW, ECW/TBW를 보이며 동일한 체수분율 양상이 나타났다. 식사일기를 통해 연구대상자의 영양소 섭취량을 분석한 결과, 1,000 kcal 당 탄수화물, 식이섬유, 비타민 A, 비타민 C, 나트륨, 칼륨 섭취량은 T2DM군이 정상대조군보다 많았고, 1,000 kcal 당 지방, 콜레스테롤 섭취량은 T2DM군이 정상대조군보다 적었다. 본 연구를 통해 T2DM 환자에게서 체액 불균형이 나타날 가능성이 높음을 알 수 있었으며 추후 당뇨 합병증의 평가, 진단의 기초 자료로 널리 활용될 것으로 사료된다.

Reliability and Data Integration of Duplicated Test Results Using Two Bioelectrical Impedence Analysis Machines in the Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study

  • Objectives: The Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study (KoGES), a multicenter-based multi-cohort study, has collected information on body composition using two different bioelectrical impedence analysis (BIA) machines. The aim of the study was to evaluate the possibility of whether the test values measured from different BIA machines can be integrated through statistical adjustment algorithm under excellent inter-rater reliability. Methods: We selected two centers to measure inter-rater reliability of the two BIA machines. We set up the two machines side by side and measured subjects' body compositions between October and December 2007. Duplicated test values of 848 subjects were collected. Pearson and intra-class correlation coefficients for inter-rater reliability were estimated using results from the two machines. To detect the feasibility for data integration, we constructed statistical compensation models using linear regression models with residual analysis and R-square values. Results: All correlation coefficients indicated excellent reliability except mineral mass. However, models using only duplicated body composition values for data integration were not feasible due to relatively low $R^2$ values of 0.8 for mineral mass and target weight. To integrate body composition data, models adjusted for four empirical variables that were age, sex, weight and height were most ideal (all $R^2$ > 0.9). Conclusions: The test values measured with the two BIA machines in the KoGES have excellent reliability for the nine body composition values. Based on reliability, values can be integrated through algorithmic statistical adjustment using regression equations that includes age, sex, weight, and height.

휴대폰 전자파와 인체의 상호 영향 및 뼈 유사 물질 합성 연구 (Electromagnetic Interactions between a Cellular Phone and the Human Body and Synthesis of a Bone-Equivalent Material)

  • 유한차분 시간영역 수치해석 기법을 사용하여 휴대폰과 인체 간의 전자파 결합 현상을 시율레이션하였고, 인체 두부의 모형을 제작하기 위한 생체 뼈 유사 물질의 합성에 관한 연구를 수행했다. 휴대폰 모형을 제작 하여 자유 공간에서 안테나 반사계수 및 복사 패턴을 측정하였다. 인체와 안테나 사이의 거리를 매개 변수로 하여 안테나의 입력 임피던스, 반사계수, 복사 패턴, 효율, 그리고 인체 두부의 전력 홉수량을 계산하였다. 인 체 근접 효과에 의하여 안테나 공진 주파수가 약 12 %까지 감소되었으며, 출력이 0.6W일 때, 두부와 안테나 사이의 거리가 30mm이상 떨어져 있을 경우, l-g 평균 최대 SAR가 ANSVIEEE 안전 기준인 1.6 W /kg 이 하로 계산되었다. 뼈 유사 물질의 합성에는 에폭시, 응고제, 그리고 흑연 분말을 기본 물질로 하고, 전도도를 제어하기 위해 소량의 전도성 에폭시를 첨가하였다. 850 MHz에서 비유전율이 18.04, 전도도가 0.347로서 생체 뼈의 특성에 매우 근접하는 시료가 합성되었음을 보였다.
