Urban Runoff Network Flow Velocity Monitoring System Using Ubiquitous Technique and GIS (Ubiquitous 기술과 GIS를 이용한 도시배수관망 유속측정 시스템 개발)

  • Reliable hydrologic data acquisition is the basic and essential requirement for efficient water management. Especially the acquisition of various stream data in a certain location is very important to construct on alarm system to response an urban flood which occurs frequently due to the effect of climate change. Although the frequency of stream inundation flood occurrence becomes low owing to the consistent stream improvement, the urban flood due to the drainage system problems such as deterioration and bad management occurs continuously. The consistent management and current status understanding of the urban drainage system is essential to reduce the urban flood. The purpose of this study is to develop the urban runoff network flow velocity monitoring system which has the capability of collecting stream data whenever, wherever and to whomever without expert knowledge using Code Division Multiple Access technique and Bluetooth near-distance wireless communication technique. The urban runoff network flow velocity monitoring system consists of three stages. In the first stage, the stream information obtained by using ubiquitous floater is transferred to the server computer. In the second stage, the current state of the urban drainage system is assessed through the server computer. In the last stage, the information is provided to the user through a GUI. As a result of applying, the developed urban runoff network flow velocity monitoring system to Woncheon-Stream in Suwon, the information necessary for urban drainage management can be managed in real time.

  • This paper describes the development of the sensor interface and driver program for a point of care (POC) device. The proposed pac device comprises an ARM9 embedded processor and eight-channel sensor input to measure various bio-signals. It features a user-friendly interface using a full-color TFT-LCD and touch-screen, and a bluetooth wireless communication module. The proposed device is based on the system on a programmable chip (SOPC). We use Altera's Excalibur device, which has an ARM9 and FPGA area on a chip, as a test bed for the development of interface hardware and driver software.

  • In this paper, we propose a control system for synchronizing attitude between an Android smartphone and a mobile robot. The control system is comprised of a smartphone and a mobile robot. The smartphone transports its attitude to the mobile robot and receives the attitude of mobile robot through bluetooth communication. Further, the smartphone displays the mobile robot on the screen by using embedded camera, which can be used as a pseudo augmented reality. Comparing the received attitude data from smartphone, the mobile robot measures its attitude by an AHRS(attitude heading reference system) and controls its attitude. Experiments show that the synchronization performance of the proposed system is maintained in the error range of $1^{\circ}$.

  • 홈 네트워크 산업은 인간의 욕구와 맞물려 앞으로의 발전 가능성이 큰 분야이다. 미 가전협회의 조사에 따르면 소비자들도 홈 네트워크 시스템에 많은 관심을 가지고 있고, 애널리스트 샘 루세노는 "홈 오토메이션 시장은 해를 거듭할수록 규모가 커질 것이다."라고 예상하고 있다. 최근 네트워크 기술은 유선에서 무선으로 발전되고 있으며 홈 네트워크 서비스에는 유선보다 무선 네트워크 기술이 많이 쓰이고 있다. 본 논문에서는 각종 무선 네트워크 통신 기술에 대해 비교분석하고 홈 네트워크 서비스와의 연관성을 살펴보기 위하여 현재 홈 네트워크 서비스에 널리 사용되고 있는 무선 네트워킹 기술인 IEEE 802.11 무선랜 그룹과, IEEE 802.14.1의 블루투스 및 IEEE 802.14.5에 정의된 지그비 통신 기술에 대한 비교분석 한다.

A Low-Voltage High-Performance CMOS Feedforward AGC Circuit for Wideband Wireless Receivers

  • Wireless communication systems, such as WLAN or Bluetooth receivers, employ preamble data to estimate the channel characteristics, introducing stringent settling-time constraints. This makes the use of traditional closed-loop feedback automatic gain control (AGC) circuits impractical for these applications. In this paper, a compact feedforward AGC circuit is proposed to obtain a fast-settling response. The AGC has been implemented in a 0.35 ${\mu}m$ standard CMOS technology. Supplied at 1.8 V, it operates with a power consumption of 1.6 mW at frequencies as high as 100 MHz, while its gain ranges from 0 dB to 21 dB in 3 dB steps through a digital word. The settling time of the circuit is below 0.25 ${\mu}s$.

  • We expect u-Education based on ubiquitous information and technology will be the next generation education system. We performed a comparative study of well designed school homepage at H elementary school and the other case of homepage at C elementary school in Seoul. We conclude the former shows better performance and educational achievement under U-Learning environment and we propose a next generation U-Learning system architecture.

  • The suitcase can follow its owner all on its own via the Bluetooth connectivity in your phone. A robotic vacuum cleaner than can understand voice commands and even follow homeowner. Robots are used in a variety of applications such as a robot wheelchair. In this paper, I focus the problem of automatic return to the base in the process of developing the moving robot for loading things. In this paper, I propose the indoor localization method which is able to determine the position of the robot in the building by using image processing techniques.

  • In this paper, we developed a more efficient system for the remote control and monitoring of a wheeled mobile robot using internet without spatial limitation. The hardware configuration of the remote control system for a wheeled mobile robot includes a client PC executed on the remote site, a embedded web-server and a mobile robot with many measuring equipments. The communication between a client PC and a embedded web-server is implemented through internet. And the Bluetooth module is used for connecting a embedded web-server and a mobile robot. A GUI program has been developed by using JavaScript in order to easily control a mobile robot on a client PC.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a portable gait-event detection system which is necessary for the cycle-to-cycle FES(functional electrical stimulation) control of locomotion. To make the system portable, we made following modifications in the gait signal measurement system. That is, 1) to make the system wireless using Bluetooth communication, 2) to make the system small-sized and battery-powered by using low power consumption ${\mu}$ P(ATmega8535L). The gait-events were analyzed in off-line at the main computer using ANN(Artificial Neural Network). The Proposed system showed no mis-detection of the gait-events of normal subject and hemiplegia subjects. The performance of the system was better than the previous wired-system.

  • In this paper, Elevator is designed for real time security & management. Security & Management System is designed for wireless communication between an Elevator and an manager, between Elevation and an manager. Also, to have remote control capability, embedded system platform with TCP/IP techniques are applied to process control system with independent open structure for the precise data transmission and without constraint of operating system. Security and Management system is designed to solve problem of network port by Bluetooth module. Moved recording, unworked table, life of device and replacement time of device are made database, database is applied to Fuzzy Rule for pre-detection unworked Elevator. Security & Management system is designed safety and convenience for customers using Elevator as well as rapidly treatment with unworked Elevator.
