  • In this paper, the control scheme is proposed that PI controller parameter used for TAH speed control is adapted by fuzzy logic method using only the motor current waveform. By scheduling PI parameters, minimization of the vibration and the energy consumption and overcoming AoP loads becomes possible. In in vitro tests experimental results show our approach is a good scheme that is adapted to changing afterloads well.

  • Heart Rate Variability (HRV) system is useful for evaluating the balance in homeostasis of autonomic nervous system. In this study, we implement HRV monitoring system by performing real time FFT spectrum analysis on R-R intervals data acquired from Electrocardiogram (ECG) acquisition and transmitting the data by RF communication module.

  • DNA microarray is a high-throughput biomedical technology that monitors gene expression for thousands of genes in parallel. The abundance and complexity of the gene expression data have given rise to a requirement for their systematic management and analysis to support many laboratories performing microarray research. On these demands, we developed Xperanto for integrated data management and analysis using user-friendly web-based interface. Xperanto provides an integrated environment for management and analysis by linking the computational tools and rich sources of biological annotation. With the growing needs of data sharing, it is designed to be compliant to MGED (Microarray Gene Expression Data) standards for microarray data annotation and exchange. Xperanto enables a fast and efficient management of vast amounts of data, and serves as a communication channel among multiple researchers within an emerging interdisciplinary field.

  • In order to understand and quantitatively analyze the physical phenomena and behavior of each component of mammography system during the breast imaging, we simulated mammography imaging using Monte Carlo simulation codes. MCNP4B code was used for our simulation purpose, and we investigated the effect of target material, anode angle, filtration, peak voltage and exposure on the image quality of mammograms. From the simulation results we expect that optimized operation condition of mammography system can be found.
