  • It is significant to construct deterministic measurement matrices with easy hardware implementation, good sensing performance and good cryptographic property for practical compressed sensing (CS) applications. In this paper, a deterministic construction method of bipolar chaotic measurement matrices is presented based on binary sequence family (BSF) and Chebyshev chaotic sequence. The column vectors of these matrices are the sequences of BSF, where 1 is substituted with -1 and 0 is with 1. The proposed matrices, which exploit the pseudo-randomness of Chebyshev sequence, are sensitive to the initial state. The performance of proposed matrices is analyzed from the perspective of coherence. Theoretical analysis and simulation experiments show that the proposed matrices have limited influence on the recovery accuracy in different initial states and they outperform their Gaussian and Bernoulli counterparts in recovery accuracy. The proposed matrices can make the hardware implement easy by means of linear feedback shift register (LFSR) structures and numeric converter, which is conducive to practical CS.

  • For compressed sensing (CS) applications, it is significant to construct deterministic measurement matrices with good practical features, including good sensing performance, low memory cost, low computational complexity and easy hardware implementation. In this paper, a deterministic construction method of bipolar measurement matrices is presented based on binary sequence family (BSF). This method is of interest to be applied for sparse signal restore and image block CS. Coherence is an important tool to describe and compare the performance of various sensing matrices. Lower coherence implies higher reconstruction accuracy. The coherence of proposed measurement matrices is analyzed and derived to be smaller than the corresponding Gaussian and Bernoulli random matrices. Simulation experiments show that the proposed matrices outperform the corresponding Gaussian, Bernoulli, binary and chaotic bipolar matrices in reconstruction accuracy. Meanwhile, the proposed matrices can reduce the reconstruction time compared with their Gaussian counterpart. Moreover, the proposed matrices are very efficient for sensing performance, memory, complexity and hardware realization, which is beneficial to practical CS.

  • PN(Pseudo Noise) sequences play an important role in wireless communications, such as in a CDMA(code division multiple access) communication system. If there is a crash when multiple users simultaneously connected to a system, then PN sequences with low correlation help to minimize multiple access interference in such communication system. In this paper we propose a family of non-linear extended binary sequences with low cross-correlations and the family include $m$-sequence, GMW sequence, Kasami sequence and No sequence with optimal cross-correlation in terms of Welch bound. And we analyze cross-correlation of these sequences.

  • In this paper, a family of binary sequences generated by GMW sequences and No sequences is introduced and analyzed. Each sequence within a family has period $N=2^n-1$, n=2m and there are $2^m$ sequences within that family. We obtain auto and cross-correlation values and linear span of the synthesized sequence.

  • In this paper, we generalize the family of binary bent sequences introduced by Olsen, Scholtz and Welch [2] to obtain the generalized binary bent sequences with optimal correlation and balance properties. The modified trace transform is introduced and it enables us to use linear function from ${F_{2^n}}$ to the intermediate field ${F_{2^e}}$, where e|n. If we choose e=1, our method becomes the conventional binary bent sequence case. Also, some examples are given which show that our construction gives the family of simple binary sequences with optimal correlation and balance properties.

  • Code-Division Multiple-Access(CDMA) allows several users simultaneous access to a common channel by assigning a distinct pseudonoise sequence called spectrum code to each user. Each user in a CDMA system uses a assigned spectrum code to modulate their signal. Choosing the codes used to modulate the signal is very important in the performance of CDMA systems. The best performance will occur when there is good separation between the signal of a desired user and the signals of other users. The receiver synchronizes the code to recover the data. The use of an independent code allows multiple users to access the same frequency band at the same time. In this paper we propose a generalized model of non-linear binary sequence using trace function and analyze cross-correlation of these sequences. These sequences with low correlation, large linear span and large family size, in a direct-sequence spread spectrum communication system, help to minimize multiple access interference, increase security degree of system and enlarge user number.

  • The design of PN(Pseudo Noise) sequences with good cross-correlation properties is important for many research areas in communication systems. In this paper we propose new family of binary sequences $S^r=\{Tr_1^m\{[Tr_m^n(a{\alpha}^t+{\alpha}^{dt})]^r\}{\mid}a{\in}GF(2^n),\;0{\leq}t<2^n-1\}$ composed of Gold-like sequences and find the value of cross-correlation function when $d=2^{n-1}(3{\cdot}2^m-1)$, where n=2k, gcd(r, $2^m-1$)=1. Also we analyze the linear span of $S^r$ for some special r. Proposed sequences are extension of Gold-like sequences and GMW-sequences.

  • Based on an interleaving technique and quadriphase periodic complementary sequence (CS) mates, this paper presents a method for constructing a family of 16-quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) periodic CS mates. The resulting mates arise from the conversion of quadriphase periodic CS mates, and the period of the former is twice as long as that of the latter. In addition, based on the existing binary periodic CS mates, a table on the existence of the proposed 16-QAM periodic CS mates is given. Furthermore, the proposed method can also transform a mutually orthogonal (MO) quadriphase CS set into an MO 16-QAM CS set. Finally, three examples are given to demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, Interference-Cancelled CDMA system using binary ZCD spreading codes is introduced. Proposed Interference-Cancelled CDMA system can be usefully used for the intra-cellular Interference-Cancelled wireless communication systems. Binary ZCD spreading code sets have various sequence period and family sizes and the ZCD properties of them are very effective for Interference-cancelled CDMA Systems. In this paper, we mathematically analyzed the system performance of our proposed Interference-Cancelled CDMA system in the AWGN channel and various interference environments such as MAI and MPI. Furthermore, using the BER performance simulation we certify the available interference cancellation properties of the proposed system.
