  • With the rapid growth of Information technology and up-to-date wireless network application technologies, huge and various types of data are produced in every moment, the value and significance of the analysis techniques using big data are increased recently. Big data, which were useless since they were too huge to manage in the past, enables us to get new inspirations and values in various practical application areas through the development of big data computing devices and analytic tools. Nowadays, however, it is true that most of the big data are still wasted without properly analyzed and used. In the long run, the preliminary stipulations for finding inspirations and extracting new values from big data are securing big data analysis and application techniques to process big data efficiently. In this paper, we study accurate data analysis techniques and data process technologies those are able to extract needed inspirations and values from big data efficiently, then design the smart application that adopts these techniques practically.

  • Storing large amounts of data has always been a big problem from the beginning of computing history. Big Data has made huge advancements in improving business processes by finding the customers' needs using prediction models based on web and social media search. The main purpose of big data stream processing frameworks is to allow programmers to directly query the continuous stream without dealing with the lower-level mechanisms. In other words, programmers write the code to process streams using these runtime libraries (also called Stream Processing Engines). This is achieved by taking large volumes of data and analyzing them using Big Data frameworks. Streaming platforms are an emerging technology that deals with continuous streams of data. There are several streaming platforms of Big Data freely available on the Internet. However, selecting the most appropriate one is not easy for programmers. In this paper, we present a detailed description of two of the state-of-the-art and most popular streaming frameworks: Apache Ignite and Hazelcast. In addition, the performance of these frameworks is compared using selected attributes. Different types of databases are used in common to store the data. To process the data in real-time continuously, data streaming technologies are developed. With the development of today's large-scale distributed applications handling tons of data, these databases are not viable. Consequently, Big Data is introduced to store, process, and analyze data at a fast speed and also to deal with big users and data growth day by day.

  • The process and change of convergence in the economy and industry with the development of digital technology and combining with new technologies is called Digital Transformation. Specifically, it refers to innovating existing businesses and services by utilizing information and communication technologies such as big data analysis, Internet of Things, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. Digital transformation is changing the shape of business and has a wide impact on businesses and consumers in all industries. Among them, the big data and analytics market is emerging as one of the most important growth drivers of digital transformation. Integrating intelligent data into an existing business is one of the key tasks of digital transformation, and it is important to collect and monitor data and learn from the collected data in order to efficiently operate a data-based business. In developed countries overseas, research on new business models using various data accumulated at the level of government and private companies is being actively conducted. However, although the trade and import/export data collected in the domestic public sector is being accumulated in various types and ranges, the establishment of an analysis and utilization model is still in its infancy. Currently, we are living in an era of massive amounts of big data. We intend to discuss the value of trade big data possessed from the past to the present, and suggest a strategy to activate trade big data for trade digital transformation and a new direction for future trade big data research.

  • This study is to compare and analyze the technology competitiveness of Big Data sector through patent analysis. According to results of the analysis, the United States is the most active country on the patent activities and its applied and registered patents have multiplied in recent times. However, both CPP(Cited Per Patent) and PII(Patent Impact Index) of the US would have declined, indicating that the growth of technology in the US seems to be biased to quantitative growth of technologies. Korea has been relatively active patent activities with Japan, China and Canada, whereas it has tended to be biased to quantitative growth with the US; Therefore, Korea government needs to concentrate efforts to retain the high quality technologies.

  • Big data has recently been used in various industries such as tourism, medical care, distribution, and marketing. And it is evolving to the stage of collecting real-time information or analyzing correlations and predicting the future. In the tourism industry, big data can be used to identify the size and shape of the tourism market, and by building and utilizing a large-capacity database, it is possible to establish an efficient marketing strategy and provide customized tourism services for tourists. This paper has begun with anticipation of the effects that would occur when big data is actively used in the tourism field. Because the method of use must have applicability and practicality, the spatial scope will be limited to Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do, and research will be conducted. In this paper, to improve the quality of tourism courses by collecting and analyzing the number of mention data and sentiment index data on social media, which reflect the tourist's interest, preference and satisfaction. Therefore, it is used as basic data necessary for the development of new local tourism courses in the future. In addition, the development of tourism courses will be able to promote tourism growth and also revitalizing the local economy.

Big Data Analysis in School Adjustment Factors using Data Mining

  • Data mining technology is applied to various fields because it is a technique for analyzing vast amount of data and finding useful information. In this paper, we propose a big data analysis method that uses Apriori algorithm, which is a data mining technique, to find the related factors that have negative and positive influences on school adjustment. Among Korea Child and Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS), data related to adjustment to school life and data showing parental inclinations were extracted from the data of fourth grade elementary school students, first year middle school students, and high school freshman students, respectively and we have mapped the useful association rules among them. As a result, the factors affecting school adjustment were different according to the timing of the growth process, we were able to find interesting rules by looking for connections between rules. On the other hand, the factors that positively influenced school adjustment were not significantly different from each other, and overall, they were associated with positive variables.

An Analysis of the Hocance Phenomenon using Social Media Big Data (소셜 미디어 빅데이터를 활용한 호캉스(hocance) 현상 분석)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study was to examine the recent popular consumption trend, the hocance phenomenon, using social media big data. The study intended to present practical directions and marketing measures for the recovery and growth of the hotel industry after COVID-19 pandemic. Design/methodology/approach - Big data analysis has been used in various fields, and in this study, it was used to understand the hocance phenomenon. For three years from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020, we collected text data including the keyword 'hocance' from the blog and cafe of NAVER and Daum. TEXTOM and UCINET 6 were used to collect and analyze the data. Findings - According to the results of analysis, the words such as 'hocance', 'hotel', 'Seoul', 'travel', 'swimming pool', 'Incheon', 'breakfast', 'child' and 'friend' were identified with high frequency. The results of CONCOR analysis showed similar results in all three years. It has been confirmed that 'swimming pool', 'breakfast', 'child' and 'friend' are important when deciding on the hocance package. Research implications or Originality - The study was differentiated in that it used social media big data instead of traditional research methods. Furthermore, it reflected social phenomena as a consumption trend so there was practical value in establishing marketing strategies for the tourism and hotel industry.

  • With the growth of the smart-devices and information & communication technology, information society has developed and information can be produced, spread and consumed at much faster pace easily. Hence, individuals can utilize wireless communication and smart-devices to create, share and consume information at anytime and anywhere. The growth of technology has allowed the large-scale transfer and sharing of image, sound and video data; it changed the users' data consumption pattern that was mainly consisted of the text. Therefore, the amount of data that an individual consumes increased significantly. The importance of finding and analyzing practical and necessary data among huge amount of data has arisen. In this study, the current status of Big Data is researched and analyzed and the method to utilize Big Data in the electronic trading field is suggested.

A Study of Consumer Perception on Freediving Suits Utilizing Big Data Analysis (빅데이터 분석을 활용한 프리다이빙 슈트에 대한 소비자 인식 연구)

  • Freediving, an underwater leisure sport that involves diving without the use of a breathing apparatus, has gained popularity among younger demographics through the viral spread of images and videos on social media platforms. This study employs prominent Big Data analysis techniques, including text mining, Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic analysis, and opinion mining to explore the keywords associated with freediving suits over the past five years. The research aims to analyze the rapidly evolving market trends of freediving suits and the increasingly complex and diverse consumer perceptions to provide foundational data for activating the freediving suit market and developing strategies for sustained growth. The study identified the keyword 'size' related to freediving suits and conducted opinion mining on 'freediving suit sizes'. Although the results showed a higher positive than negative sentiment, negative keywords were also extracted, indicating the need to understand and mitigate the negative factors associated with 'size'. The findings offer vital guidelines for the advancement of the freediving suit market and enhancing consumer satisfaction. This study is important as it contributes foundational data for continuous growth strategies of the freediving suit market.

Design of Distributed Cloud System for Managing large-scale Genomic Data

  • The volume of genomic data is constantly increasing in various modern industries and research fields. This growth presents new challenges and opportunities in terms of the quantity and diversity of genetic data. In this paper, we propose a distributed cloud system for integrating and managing large-scale gene databases. By introducing a distributed data storage and processing system based on the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), various formats and sizes of genomic data can be efficiently integrated. Furthermore, by leveraging Spark on YARN, efficient management of distributed cloud computing tasks and optimal resource allocation are achieved. This establishes a foundation for the rapid processing and analysis of large-scale genomic data. Additionally, by utilizing BigQuery ML, machine learning models are developed to support genetic search and prediction, enabling researchers to more effectively utilize data. It is expected that this will contribute to driving innovative advancements in genetic research and applications.
