서울시 자전거 교통사고와 사고 심각도에 영향을 미치는 근린환경 요인 분석 (Analysis of Neighborhood Environmental Factors Affecting Bicycle Accidents and Accidental Severity in Seoul, Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze neighborhood environmental factors affecting bicycle accidents and accidental severity in Seoul, Korea. The use of bicycles has increased rapidly as daily transportation means in recent years. As a result, bicycle accidents are also steadily increasing. Using Traffic Accident Analysis System (TAAS) data from 2015 to 2017, this study uses negative binomial regression analysis to identify neighborhood environmental factors affecting bicycle accidents and accidential severity. The main results are as follows. First, bicycle accidents are more likely to occur in commercial and mixed land use areas where pedestrians, bicycle and vehicles are moving together. Second, bicycle accidents are positively associated with road structures such as four-way intersection. In contrast, three-way intersection is negatively associated with serious bicycle accidents. The density of speed hump or street tree is negatively associated with bicycle accidents and accidential severity. This finding indicates the effect of speed limit or street trees on bicycle safety. Fourth, bicycle infrastructures are also important factors affecting bicycle accidents and accidential severity. Bicycle-exclusive roads or bicycle-pedestrian mixed roads are positively associated with bicycle accidents and accidential severity. Finally, this study suggests policy implications to improve bicycle safety.

3축 가속도 센서를 응용한 자전거 주행정보 시스템 (Driving Information System of Bicycle by Using 3-Axis Acceleration Sensor)

  • In this paper, the driving information system of the bicycle has been studied by using the 3-axis acceleration sensor. The sensor module composed of 3-axis acceleration sensor and MCU(Microcontroller Unit) was mounted onto the handle of bicycle and the experiments were conducted on the flatland, uphill and downhill of bicycle road. Three axis acceleration values were converted to the pitch and roll angles, then four major compensation methods have been applied to achieve meaningful data for driving information system. The experimental results of pitch angles showed 2.46, -1.26, 7.79 degrees in case of flatland, uphill, downhill, respectively. When the steering handle turned to the left direction, roll angles showed -29.35, -41.67, -36.98 degrees at each road condition. With the right-turn, roll angles presented 20.05, 33.75, 24.44 degrees in case of flatland, uphill, and downhill, respectively. The pitch angle has been increased more than 40 degrees at stop mode. By using the change of pitch and roll angles, we could obtain the driving information system of bicycle successfully.

  • This paper describes the quantitative analysis on the improvement of equilibrium sensory using virtual bicycle system. We have used a virtual bicycle system that combines virtual reality technology with a bicycle. In this experiment, 10 subjects were tested to investigate the influencing factors on equilibrium sensory. Straight road and curved road driving at several factors including cycling time, number of times of path deviation, and center of pressure(COP) were extracted and evaluated to quantify the extent of control. Also, To improve the effect of balance training, we investigated the usefulness of virtual feedback information by weight shift. The result showed that the system could be effective for equilibrium sensory rehabilitation training device. The analysis method might also have wider applicability to the rehabilitation field.

자전거전용차로 설치에 따른 기대효과 추정 (서울시 사례를 중심으로) (Estimating Potential Impact of Bike Lane Implementation (Case study of Seoul Metropolitan City))

  • 지구온난화 등 기후변화로 지구가 위기를 맞이하고 있으며, 이에 따라 온실가스 감축은 시대의 흐름으로, 교통수단 중 자전거는 가장 빨리 이 목표를 가능하게 해주는 수단이다. 자전거 이용 활성화를 위해서는 자전거 인프라가 부족한 현 시점에서 자전거 전용도로를 새로이 건설하는 것이 효과적이나, 공간확보가 어려우므로 도로다이어트가도시 내에서 자전거전용차로를 확보하기 위한 가장 현실적인 대안이다. 그러나 도로다이어트에 대한 효과분석이 이루어진 사례는 거의 없다. 본 연구에서는 도로다이어트에 의한 자전거전용차로 설치 시 자전거수단분담률 변화에 따른 각 수단의 전환율을 산정하였으며 이로부터 편익을 추정하였다. 현재 자전거의 수단전환 모형이 구축되어 있지 않아 자전거로의 전환량 목표를 설정한 후 다른 수단의 전환량을 모형을 이용하여 추정하였다. 사례지역으로 서울을 선정하였으며 SECOMM 모형을 이용하여 분석하였다. 기존의 통행시간 절감편익 이외에 건강증진, 환경오염, 에너지절감 편익 등을 고려하였다는 것이 타 연구와의 가장 큰 차이점이라 볼 수 있으며, 도로다이어트의 시행으로 수단들의 총 통행시간이 증가하지만 자전거의 분담률이 5% 정도가 되면 상쇄하는 것으로 분석되었다. 분담률이 2% 일 때 통행시간 절감편익은 (-)이지만 전체 편익은 (+)이며 분담률이 5%를 넘어설 때엔 통행시간 절감편익도 (+)가 되는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • As the importance of big data begins to be recognized, the government, local self-governing bodies, and corporations have taken interest in big data. However, unlike the past, there is various typical and atypical data, and some fields make use of big data planning and analytical technique, which is opening a way to capture new opportunities. The present study analyzes an improvement plan for bicycle roads by using the public data of Seoul and proposes its implications.

  • 탄소섬유가 차세대 자전거 프레임의 소재로 자리잡아감에 따라 각 제조사별로 탄소섬유 프레임 개발을 위한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있으며, 현재도 탄소섬유의 강성, 내구성, 충격흡수, 경량화, 강도를 중시하며 개발되고 있다. 또한 탄소섬유 자전거모델은 고가 제품으로써, 이에 맞는 개성적이고 차별화된 디자인 컨셉의 제품이 필요하며, 기본적으로 요구되는 구조 역학적 프레임의 개발이 중요하고, 안전성과 조형성이 뛰어난 제품개발과 무엇보다도 자기만의 아이덴티티(Identity)가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 소비자 요구의 조사연구와 이미지 분석의 과정을 통해 개성적이고 통일된 이미지를 도출하였고, 본 디자인 개발에서는 최근 수요가 급증하고 있는 로드형 자전거를 타켓으로 잡아 탄소섬유를 소재로 한 자전거 프레임 디자인을 개발하고 제안하였다.

개인이동형 교통수단(PM) 유형별 사고특성 및 위험도 비교연구 (A Comparison Study on the Risk and Accident Characteristics of Personal Mobility)

  • This study deals with characteristics and risk of a PM based on user survey result, road driving test and data analysis of PM accident. Text mining method is applied to extract PM accident data from Big Data, which are claim data of private insurance company. Road driving test and survey on safety, convenience, noise, overtake ability, steering ability, and climbing ability of PM are performed to evaluate user's safety and convenience considering domestic road condition. As the result of claim data analysis, annual average increase rate of PM accident is 47.4% and average compensation of personal mobility is higher than that of bicycle by maximum 1.5 times. 79.8% of PM accident is self-caused accident due to unskilled driving and age-specific diagnosis rate of driver over 60 is higher than that of under 60. Diagnosis rate of over 60 at lower limb, foot, rib and spine is especially higher than that of under 60. As the result of road driving test and user survey, satisfaction level on safety and convenience of PM is evaluated as close to that of bicycle and satisfaction level of PM is increased after boarding. Overtake ability, steering ability, and climbing ability of PM are evaluated as same or better than that of bicycle but warning equipment to pedestrian or bike such as horn is required because noise level of PM during driving is too low. Finally, user survey result shows that bicycle road is suitable for PM and safety standard, advance-education and insurance are required for PM. It is suggested that drivers' license for PM can be replaced by advance-education. Results of this study can be used to prepare safety measures and legal basis for PM operation.

자전거 및 PMV(Personal Mobility Vehicle) 사용자의 주행 특성 및 헬멧 착용 실태 조사 (A Survey on Riding Characteristics and Helmet Wearing Conditions of Bicycle and PMV(Personal Mobility Vehicle) Riders)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in riding characteristics and helmet wearing conditions between bicycle and PMV riders so that the basis data necessary for the development of suitable helmets for each group is provided. For this purpose, riding characteristics and helmet wearing conditions of bicycle and PMV users were investigated using online survey method and then the survey results were interpreted by in-depth interview conducted for bicycle and PMV users. The online survey results showed that the PMV group showed shorter driving distance and more driving frequency than bicycle group. This short driving distance was due to the limitation of battery capacity of PMVs. Helmet wearing rate was significantly lower in PMV group than in bicycle group, which was associated with relatively low chances to drive long distance on the motorway. In the PMV group, the 'urban helmets' were mainly used, in which the appearance of helmet was priorized, but in the bicycle group, the 'road cycle helmets' were mainly used, in which the light weight or ventilation were priorized. Urban helmets caused stronger pain and more fitting problems than road cycle helmets because the head shapes of Koreans were not properly applied to the helmet design. Since the fitting problem and pain intensity were the important causes that making PMV users not wear the helmets, it is necessary to develop the urban helmets reflecting the head shapes of Koreans in order to increase the helmet wearing rate of the PMV users.

개인형 이동수단에 관한 법·제도 개선방안 연구: 연령별 차이를 중심으로 (A Comparative Study on the Perceptions towards Personal Mobility Vehicle between Adults and Minors)

  • 최근 개인형 이동수단(PM)의 이용수요 증대로 관련 안전사고 역시 증가하고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 국회는 대표적으로 PM의 13세 미만 사용금지, 자전거도로의 이용을 적용한 개정안을 공표했지만 안전 및 운행 속도에 대한 세부방침은 없는 상황이다. 본 연구는 PM에 관한 법과 제도의 개선 방향에 대해 알아보기 위해 자동차운전면허 취득 나이를 기준으로 한 미성년자와 성인으로 집단을 나눠 설문조사를 진행하였다. 분석결과 PM의 위험성에 대해 미성년자는 평균 4.94점, 성인은 평균 5.50점으로 성인이 PM을 더 위험한 교통수단이라 생각하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. PM의 적정 이용연령으로는 미성년자의 경우 13.85세, 성인의 경우 15.70세로 미성년자가 성인보다 PM 적정 이용연령을 더 낮게 생각하는 경향을 확인하였다. 자전거도로의 적정 통행속도를 분석한 결과, 차도에 설치된 자전거도로는 26.21 km/h와 차도와 구분된 자전거도로는 23.55 km/h로 조사 되었으며 모든 유형의 자전거도로에서 성인보다 미성년자가 적정 통행속도가 높게 분석되었다. 또한, PM 이용의 우선시되는 안전장비는 공통으로 안전모 착용으로 나타났으며 그 뒤로 차도에 설치된 자전거도로는 전방조명, 차도와 구분된 자전거도로는 경적으로 차이가 있었다. 따라서 본 연구는 개인형 이동수단에 대한 법·제도 개선방안으로 자전거도로 유형별 속도에 차등을 둔 규제 및 단속 방안과 전방 조명, 경적 사용에 대한 규제 신설을 제안한다.
