  • Glow discharge mass spectrometry(GDMS) was used to determine the impurity concentrations of the deposited Cu films and the 6N Cu target. Cu films were deposited on Si (100) substrates at zero substrate bias voltage and a substrate bias voltage of -50 V using a non-mass separated ion beam deposition method. Since do GDMS has a little difficulty to apply to thin films because of the accompanying non-conducting substrate, we have used an aluminum foil to cover the edge of the Cu film in order to make an electrical contact of the Cu film deposited on the non-conducting substrate. As a result, the Cu film deposited at the substrate bias voltage of -50 V showed lower impurity contents than the Cu film deposited without the substrate bias voltage although both the Cu films were contaminated during the deposition. It was found that the concentration change of each impurity in the Cu films by applying the negative substrate bias voltage is related to the difference in their ionization potentials. The purification effect by applying the negative substrate bias voltage might result from the following reasons: 1) Penning ionization and an ionization mechanism proposed in the present study, 2) difference in the kinetic energy of accelerated Cu+ ions toward the substrate with/without the negative substrate bias voltage.

  • This paper proposed a bias stability circuit that compensates the degradation of MMIC's performance for the variation of the process and temperature. The proposed bias circuit proved the superior effect compared with the conventional bias circuit using the constant current source. It designed and fabricated simultaneously two amplifier on one layout for comparison in same conditions. One is amplifier with conventional bias circuit using constant current source and the other is amplifier with proposed bias stability circuit. The chip was measured the microwave performances under process variation that classed the level NOM, MIN and MAX. The amplifier with a conventional bias circuit using constant current source has 6.4 dB gain variation and 7 mA Ids variation at 1.8 GHz, but the amplifier with the proposed bias circuit has the 2.1 dB gain variation and 3 mA Ids variation. As the result, MMIC having the proposed bias circuit shows the superior compensation of the quiescent point than the MMIC having the conventional bias circuit under the variations of the process and temperature and can improve the yield of the MMIC. The fabricated chip size is 1.2 mm $\times$ 1.4 mm.

  • Objective : This study aims to evaluate a risk of bias by Risk of Bias tool and RoBANS(Risk of Bias Assessment tool for Non-randomized Study) tool for clinical trial papers proving treatment effect of herbs to alopecia and provides the newest reason of effectiveness of herbs to alopecia. Methos : Data were collected through electronic database including NDSL, KISS, KMBASE, Koreantk, OASIS, KoreaMed, KISTI, Pubmd, Cochrane CENTRAL and CINAHL. Two experts in Oriental Medince assessed risk of bias of randomized controlled trials by Cochrane group's Risk of Bias tool and non-randomized controlled trials by RoBANS tool after searching, reviewing and selecting papers. Results : Total number of selected trials is 20 including 4 randomized controlled trials, 13 non-randomized controlled trials and 3 case reports. This study evaluates the risk of bias of 17 papers including 4 randomized controlled trials and 13 non-randomized controlled trials except 3 case reports by risk of bias tool and RoBANS tool. All papers of randomized controlled trials are evaluated unclear for random sequence generation and allocation concealment as there are no word on them. And all papers of non-randomized controlled trials are evaluated unclear for blinding of outcome assessments and relatively low for others. Conclusion : We must try to specify concretely methods of allocation concealment after planning and practicing it for reducing a selection bias in randomized controlled trials. Also report a reason of missing value and blinding outcome assessments. And we have to agonize and mention methods of blinding of researchers for reducing a detection bias in non-randomized controlled trials.

  • Human can rapidly detect and deal with dangerous elements in their environment, and they generally manifest as attentional bias toward threat. Past studies have reported that this attentional bias is affected by anxiety level. Other studies, however, have argued that children and adolescents show attentional bias to threatening stimuli, regardless of their anxiety levels. Few studies directly have compared the two age groups in terms of attentional bias to threat, and furthermore, most previous studies have focused on attentional capture and the early stages of attention, without investigating further attentional holding by the stimuli. In this study, we investigated both attentional bias patterns (attentional capture and holding) with respect to negative emotional stimulus in neurotypical adults and adolescents. The effects of anxiety level on attentional bias were also examined. The results obtained for adult participants showed that abrupt onset of a distractor delayed attentional capture to the target, regardless of distractor type (angry or neutral faces), while it had no effect on attention holding. In adolescents, on the other hand, only the angry face distractor resulted in longer reaction time for detecting a target. Regarding anxiety, state anxiety revealed a significant positive correlation with attentional capture to a face distractor in adult participants but not in adolescents. Overall, this is the first study to investigate developmental tendencies of attentional bias to negative facial emotion in both adults and adolescents, providing novel evidence on attentional bias to threats at different ages. Our results can be applied to understanding the attentional mechanisms in people with emotion-related developmental disorders, as well as typical development.

  • The chirping characteristics of InGaAsP electroabsorption modulatiors have been analyzed. The effective .alpha. parameters for large signal modulation were estimated by comparing the pulse shape after fiber transmission with constant chirping assumption. We investigated the structure and the operating condition of the modulator to improve the chirping characteristics. The .alpha. parameters were calculated as the function of wavelength detuning and the bias voltage. To minimize the chirping performance, high bias voltage and a small wavelength detuning and the bias voltage. To minimize the chirping performance, high bias voltage and a small wavelength detuning were preferred. An negative .alpha. value is achieved at the wavelength detuning below 30meV with a proper bias voltage so that pulse compression effect was expected.

  • This study investigates the dynamic magneto-mechanical behavior of magnetization-graded ferromagnetic materials Terfenol-D/FeCuNbSiB (MF). We measure the dynamic magneto-mechanical properties as a function of the DC bias magnetic field ($H_{dc}$). Our experimental results show that these dynamic magneto-mechanical properties are strongly dependent on the DC bias magnetic field. Furthermore, the dynamic strain coefficient, electromechanical resonance frequency, Young's moduli, and mechanical quality factor of Terfenol-D/FeCuNbSiB are greater than those of Terfenol-D under a lower DC bias magnetic field. The dynamic strain coefficient increases by a factor of between one and three, under the same DC bias magnetic field. In particular, the dynamic strain coefficient of Terfenol-D/FeCuNbSiB at zero bias achieves 48.6 nm/A, which is about 3.05 times larger than that of Terfenol-D. These good performances indicate that magnetization-graded ferromagnetic materials show promise for application in magnetic sensors.

  • A negative waveform having inverted polarity of conventional waveform during reset and sustain periods was proposed to improve the driving characteristics. In order to control the negative wall-charge distribution, a positive bias on the scan electrode was applied during reset period. Compared to 0 V scan-bias condition, at 8 V scan-bias the formative time lag was improved about 23.95 % and the average time lag was improved about 14.91 %. All experiments were performed with the 42-inch PDP module in XGA resolution.

  • Hot carrier effects as a function of bias stress time and bias stress consitions were syste-matically investigated in p-channel poly-Si TFT s fabricated on the quartz substrate. The device degradation was observed for the negative bias stress, while improvement of electrical characteristic except for subthreshold slope was observed for the positive bias stress. It was found that these results were related to the hot-carrier injection into the gate oxide and interface states at the poly-Si/$SiO_2$interface rather than defects states generation within the poly-Si active layer under bias stress.

  • Thin reflective films are synthesized by using PVD methods with a bright metal of Al or Ag. For purposes of improving the reflectance and adhesion of such films particularly, substrate bias was applied during sputtering (namely, ion-plating) to enhance the deposition process with higher energy. And we succeeded in fabricating a quality silver film which possesses an adhesion of $85{\;}Kg/\textrm{cm}^2$ and a high reflectivity of more than 96%. Both of reflectivity and adhesion are better in case of bias sputtering as controlled than nonbias sputtering, particularly the bias of 50-100 V showed most effective. The microstructures of sample films were examined by using various equipments and the XRD spectrum in particular showed that <111> direction is the preferred growth orientation.

  • The performance of a Strapdown Inertial Navigation System (SDINS) relies heavily on the accuracy of sensor error calibration. Systematic calibration is usually employed when only a 2-axis turntable is available. For systematic calibration, the body frame is commonly defined with respect to sensor axes for ease of computation. The drawback of this approach is that sensor axes may undergo time-varying deflection under temperature change, causing pseudo gyro bias. The effect of pseudo gyro bias on navigation performance is negligible for low grade navigation systems. However, for higher grade systems undergoing rapid temperature change, the error is no longer negligible. This paper describes in detail conditions leading to the presence of pseudo gyro bias, and proposes two techniques for mitigating the error. Experimental results show that applying these techniques improves navigation performance for precision SDINS, especially under rapid temperature change.
