  • This study was aimed to compare and investigate the difference of academic self-concept and social self-concept between multicultural children and general children. The data were collected from a total of 285 multicultural children and 223 general children in elementary school, during three months from February 20, 2014 to May 20, 2014. Collected data were analyzed using t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and enter multiple regression with the SPSS 23.0 program. Multicultural children showed lower scores in academic and social self-concept, parents attachment, social support, and school life adaptation than general children. And their mental health level was lower than the general children. The study results were that academic self-concept of multicultural children was influenced by learning activity (${\beta}$=.298), social maladaptation (${\beta}$=-.218), communication (${\beta}$=-.196), and confidence (${\beta}$=.167), which explained for 42.4% of academic self-concept. Social self-concept of multicultural children was influenced by support from friend (${\beta}$=.285), peer relation(${\beta}$=.187), social maladaptation (${\beta}$=-.172), and depression (${\beta}$=-.139). which explained for 46.3% of social self-concept. Since the influence factors of academic and social self-concept of general children and multicultural children have a great power of explanation, they can be used for the intervention program enhancing self-concept for school aged children.

  • Twenty-one strains were tested for 11$\beta$-hydroxylation of Reichstein's substance S. Four fungi exhibited ability for the reaction, among which Pellicularia fillamentosa showed the highest activity. The 11$\beta$-hydroxylase of this fungus was proved to be induced by the substrate, cycloheximide reducing significantly the activity of the enzyme. Range of optimum pH for the 11$\beta$-hydroxylation was broad and found to be 2.0-8.0. Test of the enzyme activity at different growing stages, from spore to mycelia, showed that the branching stage of hyphae and the mature mycelial stage were the most effective for the Reichstein's substance S transformation. However, 11$\beta$-hydroxylase in the intact spore was turned out to be uninducible with the substrate.

  • This study examines the existence of ${\beta}$-convergence of carbon dioxide emissions in 24 countries over the period 1971~2002. For that purpose, The model of economic growth developed by Barro and Sala-i-Martin (1995) is extended and conducted Dynamic panel analysis and unit root testing by employing the panel stationarity test of Levin et al. (2002) and 1m et al. (2003). A dynamic panel estimation is well known method including capacity to control for both the endogeneity problem and the unobserved country-specific effects problem. Dynamic panel estimation method has been widely used in similar empirical studies. therefore, we also used the dynamic panel estimation method in our estimation. The result show that evidence of ${\beta}$-convergence exists among both the Obligatory GHG reduction countries (Annex) and the Non-obligatory GHG reduction countries (Non-Annex). but China discharge amount of $CO_2$ gas more than any other country. This fact can cause some bias in overall test. and so we reexamined test of convergence for Non-annex countries excluding china. As expected, in the Non-annex countries excluding china, I couldn't find any evidence of convergence.

  • The characteristic of induced anisotropy is investigated in this study for the Pohang mudstone involving the cut plane discontinuity. The uniaxial and triaxial compression tests are performed for anisotropic rocks with artificial joint to look into anisotropic strength characteristics. Both the uniaxial compressive strength and triaxial compressive strength show the lowest value at the angle of cut plane, ${\beta}=30^{\circ}$ and the shoulder type of anisotropy is obtained. Anisotropy ratio (Rc) in uniaxial compression measures 9.0, whereas Rc=1.29-1.98 in triaxial compression is appeared. A series of analyses are made with the test results to derive the suitable parameter values when it is applied to the Ramamurthy (1985) failure criterion. The result of uniaxial compression test is analyzed by introducing the n-index into Ramamurthy failure criterion. The result shows that, n=l is suitable for ${\beta}=0^{\circ}{\sim}30^{\circ}$ and n=3 is suitable for ${\beta}=30^{\circ}{\sim}90^{\circ}$. To analyze the result of triaxial compression test by Ramamurthy failure criterion, anisotropy ratio in uniaxial compression test is added to Ramamurthy's equation and material constants are estimated by modified Ramamurthy's equation. When these values are applied back to Ramamurthy failure criterion, the predicted values are well fitted to the test results. And strength anisotropy for failure criteria of Jaeger (1960), McLamore & Gray (1967) and Hoek & Brown (1980) are also investigated.

  • Object: This research investigated effects of Jujadokseo-hwan on mice with Alzheimer's Disease induced by $amyloid-{\beta}$. According to Dongyibogam, Jujadokseo-hwan can cure amnesia. Amyloid-B is believed to induce oxidative stress and inflammation in the brain, postulated to play important roles in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease. In this way $Amyloid-{\beta}$ induces Alzheimer's Disease. Methods : In order to make an efficient prescription and cope with dementia, learning and memory functions of mice were tested on passive avoidance test and V-maze task. $NF-{\kappa}B$ were measured from protein derived from the brain. RT-PCR was done for !gene analysis. Primers were protein kinase Band $NGF-{\alpha}$. Results : 1. Jujadokseo-hwan was effective for memory capacity on passive avoidance test. but noneffective for spatial memory capacity and locomotor activity on Y -maze task. 2. The measurement of $NF-{\kappa}B$ showed upward tendancies and the result of RT-PCR showed up-regulation when given Jujadokseo-hwan by mouth. Conclusion: Results suggest that Jujadokseo-hwan is effective on mice with Alzheimer's Disease induced by $amyloid-{\beta}$.

  • To improve the solubility and dissolution rate of trimethoprim (TMP), which is slightly soluble drug, its inclusion complexes were prepared and studied in this experiment. Inclusion complexes of TMP with ${\beta}-cyclodextrin$ and ${\beta}-cyclodextrin$ polymer (CDPS) were prepared according to Fenyvesi method. These were compared with TMP and its physical mixture with CDPS. Water, diluted hydrochloric acid and phosphate buffer solution were used as dissolution media. And accelerated stability test was studied at $50,\;70\;and \;80^{\circ}C$. It was found that solubility and dissolution rate of inclusion complexes were increased in water. Especially, the solubility and dissolution rate of TMP was found to be markedly increased by inclusion complexation with CDPS. In stability test, ${\beta}-cyclodextrin$ inclusion complexes were more or less stable than TMP alone. This tendency was not led in CDPS. Consequently, CDPS was useful in increasing dissolution rate and stability of TMP.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of personality characteristics and decision making type on the self-leadership of nursing students. Methods: The participants were 336 nursing students using a self-report questionnaire. Data were analyzed using a t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: There were significant positive correlations between self-leadership and extraversion (r=.50, p<.001), agreeableness (r=.22, p<.001), conscientiousness (r=.60, p<.001), openness to experience (r=.36, p<.001), and rational style (r=.47, p<.001). However the correlation between self-leadership and dependent style was significantly negative (r=-.11, p=.044). Conscientiousness (${\beta}$=.60, p<.001), extraversion (${\beta}$=.28, p<.001), and rational style (${\beta}$=.21, p<.001), openness to experience (${\beta}$=.18, p<.001), and degree of leadership level (${\beta}$=.10, p=.020) were identified as factors affecting self-leadership. The explanation power of this regression model was 50.0% and it was statistically significant (F=67.52, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study indicated that effective self-leadership programs should be developed by including conscientiousness, extraversion, openness to experience, and rational decision making.
