Many companies of the world have applied the TQM, which was originated from Japanese management style, to increase their competitiveness. It is not so easy to implement successfully the management practices originated from the foreign countries, which are usually mixed with specific cultures and management systems of their own. Some American companies created some best practices such as 6 sigma approach for applying TQM by creative benchmarking. This Paper Presents some issues for creative benchmarking for Korean companies through the analysis of the creative benchmarking processes of the successful American companies.

The relations between friendships peer aggression and victimization by peers were examined with a sample of 426 second-grade junior high school students(210 boys and 216 girls) Data were collected using questionnaires regarding friendship(number of friends and presence of a best friend) peer aggression and victimization by peers. The number of friends was significantly related to peer aggression both in boys and girls indicating that the more friends they had the less peer aggression they showed. Peer aggression didn't vary as a function of the presence of a best friend. The number of friends was also significantly related to victimization both in boys and girls. The more friends they had the less victimization they experienced. Victimization varied as a function of the presence of a best friend only in adolescent boys in which those having a best friend were rated by peers to experience less victimization, Victimization was related to peer aggression both in boys and girls. T e more victimization they experienced the more peer aggression they showed.

This paper proposes a pricing model for IPOs which can reconcile the average underpricing phenomenon with the expected wealth maximizing behaviors of market participants. Under the usual informational asymmetry, the optimal offer price for best efforts IPOs is derived as a function of the uncertainty about market's valuation, the expected return on proposed projects and the size of offerings relative to the firm's market value. Depending on these firm-specific characteristics, best efforts IPOs can be underpriced, fairly priced, or overpriced. Introducing the investment banker as an outside information producer, the model is extended to provide empirical implications for pricing and underwriting contract choice decisions which are consistent with the existing empirical evidences. The model predicts that the issuers with greater uncertainty about market's valuation choose best efforts contract over firm commitment contract and the dispersion of initial returns would be greater for best efforts IPOs than for firm commitment IPOs.

This work presents an agenda-based approach to improve the robustness of the dialog manager by using dialog examples and n-best recognition hypotheses. This approach supports n-best hypotheses in the dialog manager and keeps track of the dialog state using a discourse interpretation algorithm with the agenda graph and focus stack. Given the agenda graph and n-best hypotheses, the system can predict the next system actions to maximize multi-level score functions. To evaluate the proposed method, a spoken dialog system for a building guidance robot was developed. Preliminary evaluation shows this approach would be effective to improve the robustness of example-based dialog modeling.

This paper proposes a modified version of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) called Information Diffusion PSO (ID-PSO). In PSO algorithms, premature convergence of particles could be prevented by defining proper population topology. In this paper, we propose a variant of PSO algorithm using a new population topology. We draw inspiration from the theory of information diffusion which models the transmission of information or a rumor as one-to-one interactions between people. In ID-PSO, a particle interacts with only one particle at each iteration and they share their personal best solutions and recognized best solutions. Each particle recognizes the best solution that it has experienced or has learned from another particle as the recognized best. Computational experiments on the benchmark functions show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm compared with the existing methods which use different population topologies.

본 연구의 목적은 국내 영구기록물관리기관에서 검색도구를 공유할 수 있도록 EAD 필수요소를 제안하는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해서 3개의 국외 모범사례인 미국연구도서관협회, 캘리포니아 온라인 아카이브, 미국의회 도서관에서 개발한 모범사례를 분석하였다. 그리고 국내 공공표준 "영구기록물 기술규칙"(2008)과 실제 국내영구기록물관리기관에서 사용하고 있는 기술요소를 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 토대로 영구기록물관리기관의 담당자와의 심층 면담 과정을 거쳐 설계원칙과 기술요소를 제안하였다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to guide the operation managers who plan daily production of large mass-processing facility that services multi-customers with multi-product, small-batch item characteristics by providing the practical best production quantity and the inventory allowed to build. Methods: Close observation of a subcontract paint-shop operator captured the daily decision process which was reflected in the subcontractor-unique mathematical model and the system dynamics simulation model. Multiple simulations were run to find the practical best production quantity and the maximum allowable stock level of inventory that did not undermine the profit from practical best daily production. Actual data and a few constant values were obtained from the firm under study. Results: While the inventory holding cost for the customer-owned material harms the total profit of the subcontractor, the running cost of the processing facility hinders production in small batches. This balances the maximum possible productions and results in practical best daily production which can be found through simulation runs with actual data. The maximum level of stocked inventory is deduced from the practical best daily production. Conclusion: To build a large volume that enables economy-of-scale production, operators should deal with multi-product small-batch items from multiple customers. When the planned schedule of the time and amount of material in-flow tend not to be reliable, operators can find it practical to execute level production across the planning horizon instead of adjusting to day-to-day in-flow fluctuations.

지식경영(Knowledge Management), 지적 자산, 디지털 지식자산관리 등 지시에 관한 개념은 오늘날 많은 조직에서 중요한 화두가 되고 있다. 특히 우리나라의 경우만 보더라도 '지식정보화 강국'을 표방하면서 지식경영과 기록관리를 주요시책으로 채택하고 있어 문헌정보학의 관점에서 이에 대한 이론적 기반과 Best Practice에 관한 연구가 시급하다. 그러나 지식경영을 비롯 지식에 관한 종래의 많은 연구는 경영학 분야에서 주되게 연구되었거나 문헌정보학 내에서도 지식에 관한 통합적 연구 기반은 매우 부족한 형편이어서 정보통신발달(ICTs)에 따른 지식 및 관련 시스템 간의 관련성. 협업 가능성에 관한 논의도 거의 이루어지지 않고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 특히 지식경영과 기록관리를 중심으로 지식의 범주, 관리방법 등을 비교 연구함으로써 지식에 관한 통합관리의 발전적 대안을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구는 특히 향후 지식경영 렌 기록관리체제를 도입하고자 하는 공공기관에 이론적 논거가 될 것으로 판단한다.
