  • In Korea, various community investment renewable project models are being implemented to increase community acceptance of renewable energy. An important factor for enhancing local acceptance is that renewable energy projects have a positive effect on revitalizing the local economy such as income increase or job creation for residents and local companies. To maximize the local economic effect of large-scale community investment renewable energy projects, this study developed an evaluation index for local economy activation, whose indicators are the local return on investment, local companies' participation, local job creation, regional cooperation, transparency, and governance. Analysis of existing evaluation indicators and current renewable projects, financial analysis, and expert interviews were used in this research. The pilot evaluation determined that, the local economic effect was high in the following order: a fund investment wind project (Gangwon), benefit-sharing wind project (Jeju), and general wind project. In particular, residents' investment amount, the number of participating residents, and the amount and transparency of the regional cooperation fund were key factors to expand the effect of local economy activation. This evaluation index could be used in public bidding for renewable energy projects such as offshore wind zoning areas of local government.

  • The main purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between child poverty rate and family policy expenditure of welfare states (focusing on OECD countries). We analyzed not only the total social & family policy expenditures but the components of the family policy expenditure. OECD SOCX and calculated data from the LIS & OECD data were utilized for child and family policy expenditures and the poverty rate. One-way correlation and cluster analysis were employed for the analysis. The analytic results are as follows: Southern European and Anglo-Saxon countries' child poverty rates were higher and Scandinavian countries' child poverty rates were lower than any other clusters. The countries with high child poverty rate had higher child poverty rate than the entire nation's poverty rate, but Scandinavian countries' child poverty rate was lower. There was a strong correlation between family policy expenditure and child poverty rate. Especially the service expenditure and leave benefit expenditure were highly correlated with child poverty rate. On the other hand, cash expenditure was not significantly correlated with child poverty rate. We can suggest the policy implications from these results. Based on the analytic results, policy implications that the government should increase the family policy budget, especially the budget for family services and leave benefit to decrease child poverty rate and should make effort to support the employment of parents through policies such as active labor market strategies can be suggested.

To be a successful product or service and explore the available market, the target market consumers need to be fully acknowledged a new product or service's value or benefit. And at the same time, the presented benefit should satisfy the customer's needs and wants. Therefore, a firm must investigate the target consumers' needs and wants before launching the new product or service. In this paper, we suggest the marketing strategy for newly developed WiBro service in telecommunication industry. We focus on consumer-oriented marketing strategy as well as the technology development process. To explore the customer's value scheme, we employ a self-explicated approach for estimating the customer's part-worth of the different target market in the process of market development stage. • The purpose of this paper is to suggest a supplier and buyer's pricing decision strategy model with discount-policy over a long-term replenishment contract in a supply chain environment by small and medium size manufacturing company. We assume that the buyer has a superior economic power over a supplier and each agent in a supply chain is unaware of each other. The supplier proposes pricing decision strategy to induce the buyer to choose the terms of contract for the benefit of the supplier. Then buyer decides the terms of contract to maximize her profit considering supplier's discount-policy. We also present a numerical example to illustrate the efficiency of pricing decision strategy.

  • Recently, information systems(IS) outsourcing has become a very important management strategy of implementing IS and many studies on the IS outsourcing approach had been largely performed in the organizations, but it isn't still show how to outsource the IS functions and how to decide quantitative magnitude for judgement. To offer a quantitative decision model that can help practitioners set priority and reap the most benefits from outsourcing, we show outsourcing structure including 3 factors(strategic benefit, economic benefit and technological benefit) and sub-levels which. is different from the Yang and Huang's model. Also, we compute the weight of alternatives using analytic hierarchy process to find a priority of the IS outsourcing. As a result of analysis, we suggest systematic steps and quantitative model to increase the precision of decision making.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the market segments of Korea specialty coffee shops based on the benefit variables by customers when they visit a coffee shop. For this study, SPSS WIN 17.0 was used for the frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability test, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA and cross tabulation. Benefit factors were divided into atmosphere factor, value factor, marketing factor, cleanliness & comfort factor, and service factor. Three distinct segments of customers were identified: passive benefit seekers, marketing benefit seekers and emotion benefit seekers. In order to explore differences between clusters and demographic and behavior variables, cross tabulation were used. These findings could be helpful for the marketers who need to establish a marketing strategy for grasping the characteristics of market segments and generating profits.
