식생활에서의 내분비계 장애물질에 대한 성인들의 노출 저감화 행동 분석 (Analysis of Adult Behaviors to Decrease Exposure to Endocrine Disruptors in Dietary Life)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the level of concern and the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors, and the level of dietary behaviors to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors, to determine the factors affecting the level of knowledge and behaviors, and to assess the causal relationship between them. The data were collected from 579 adults in Seoul, Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan and Gwangju provinces. Frequencies, t tests, analysis of variance, Cronbach's alpha, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis, multiple regression analyses, and path analysis were carried out by SPSS for Win V.18.0. The results of this study were as follows: The level of concern about endocrine disruptors was higher than the medium level. The respondents were most concerned about a container of cup ramen among products related to foods. The levels of both knowledge and behaviors in order to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life were not high. The factors affecting the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors were educational level, attendance in education for endocrine disruptors, and concern about endocrine disruptors. On the other hand, sex, age, concern about endocrine disruptors, and the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors affected the level of behaviors to decrease exposure toward endocrine disruptors. The results of the path analysis showed that educational level and education of endocrine disruptors had an indirect influence on the level of behaviors in order to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life. The concern about endocrine disruptors had both a direct and an indirect effect on the level of behaviors to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life. In addition, sex, age and the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors directly affected the level of behaviors to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life.

수유부의 내분비계 장애물질 노출저감화행동에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing Behavior of Reducing Exposure to Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals in Breastfeeding Mothers)

  • Purpose: To investigate factors that affect behaviors of reducing exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) in breastfeeding mothers. Methods: Subjects were 166 breastfeeding mothers who were recruited from January 25 to April 15, 2018. The questionnaire consisted of items associated with behaviors of reducing exposure to EDCs, attitude to behaviors of reducing exposure, subject norms of behavior of reducing exposure, and perceived behavior control. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlations, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Factors influencing behaviors of reducing the exposure to EDCs were attitude toward behaviors of reducing exposure, perceived barrier, and period of lactation. The more positive the attitude toward behaviors of reducing exposure was, the lower the perceived barrier. The longer the feeding period, the higher the behaviors of reducing the exposure to EDCs. Conclusions: To enhance behaviors of reducing the exposure to EDCs, it is necessary to develop a positive educational program in breastfeeding department to improve attitude toward behaviors of reducing the exposure to EDCs, decrease perceived barrier, and increase the breastfeeding period.

중.고등학생의 환경호르몬에 대한 인식도, 정보획득 행동, 지식, 노출저감화 행동 및 교육요구도 에 관한 연구 (Recognition, Information Acquisition Behavior, Knowledge, Behaviors to Decrease Exposure and Education Need toward Endocrine Disruptors among Middle and High School Students)

  • 본 연구는 중 고등학생을 대상으로 한 환경호르몬에 대한 교육방향을 설정하고 교육내용을 구성하는데 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 환경호르몬에 대한 인식도, 정보획득 행동, 지식, 행동, 교육요구도에 대해 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 자료는 서울, 인천, 대전, 대구, 부산, 광주 등 대도시에 거주하는 중학생 및 고등학생 180명으로부터 수집되었다. 본 연구의 자료는 SPSS WINDOWS Version 14.0으로 분석되었으며, 빈도분석, Cronbach's alpha, t 분석, 일원분산분석, Duncan의 다중범위분석, ${\chi}^2$ 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구결과, 첫째, 중 고등학생의 환경호르몬에 대한 관심도는 별로 높지 않은 것으로 나타났고 대다수의 응답자들이 환경호르몬이 사람에게 위험을 주는 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 환경호르몬에 대한 정보는 '텔레비전, 라디오'로부터 가장 많이 얻고 있었으나 환경호르몬에 대한 정보를 획득하거나 획득한 정보를 이해하는 것이 쉽지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 '학교' 및 '텔레비전, 라디오'로부터 환경호르몬에 대한 정보를 획득하는 것을 선호하고 있었다. 셋째, 환경호르몬에 대한 지식 수준과 노출저감화에 대한 행동 수준은 높지 않았으며, 환경호르몬 노출을 줄이기 위한 행동 수준은 지식 수준에 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 환경호르몬에 대한 교육 필요성 인식도는 매우 높은 편이었고, '환경호르몬 피해 예방법', '환경호르몬 방출물질 또는 오염물질', '환경호르몬의 위해성' 순으로 교육내용 요구도가 높았다.

  • This paper presents the behaviors of reinforced concrete columns under high temperature. When columns are exposed high temperature, temperature distribution of a section becomes nonlinear and it is calculated by using finite difference method(F.D.M). The interaction curves show the strength of columns at various exposure times. The strength of columns decreases according to the increase of the exposure time and the decrease of concrete cover.

A Tobacco Cessation Intervention with Rural, Medically Underserved, Blue-collar Employees: A Quasiexperimental Study

  • Background: The aim of this study was to increase knowledge regarding the dangers associated with tobacco use, and decrease secondhand smoke exposure and tobacco use behaviors with an antitobacco messaging campaign among rural, medically underserved, blue-collar workers. Methods: A quasiexperimental study was conducted with employees at two worksites. One worksite received the intervention, which consisted of nine different antitobacco messages. Baseline and follow-up surveys were conducted at each worksite to assess change in knowledge and behavior; the data were compared across the two worksites. Results: Two hundred twenty-two and 243 participants completed baseline and follow-up surveys at the intervention and comparison sites, respectively. A statistically significant difference was seen over time between the worksites on knowledge of the dangers of tobacco (p < 0.0001); the mean knowledge score increased at the intervention site, but remained unchanged at the comparison site. In general, non-smokers at both worksites appeared to try to decrease exposure to secondhand smoke over the follow-up period. Repeated measures analysis indicated that there were no differences in motivation to quit (p = 0.81), interest in quitting (p = 0.40), thinking about quitting (p = 0.53), or several tobacco-use behaviors over time among smokers at the intervention and comparison worksites. There were slight increases over time in the proportion of smokers who do not allow smoking in their homes/vehicles at the intervention worksite, although not statistically significant. Conclusion: Participants at the intervention worksite increased their knowledge regarding the dangers of tobacco use and secondhand smoke exposure. Among current tobacco users, the intervention appeared to increase family rules regarding secondhand smoke exposure in their homes and vehicles.

CNT 강화 불포화 폴리에스터 복합재료의 수분흡수 거동에 관한 연구 (Moisture Absorption Behavior of CNT Reinforced Unsaturated Polyester Composites)

  • 본 연구에서는 노출온도와 노출시간에 따른 CNT 강화 불포화 폴리에스터 복합재의 수분흡수 거동을 조사하고 흡수된 수분이 인장특성에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 이때 노출온도는 $25^{\circ}C$$75^{\circ}C$의 두 경우를 고려하였으며, 노출시간은 600시간까지를 고려하였다. 연구결과에 따르면 수분흡수율은 CNT의 함량과 노출온도가 높을수록 크게 나타났으며, 또한 인장강도는 CNT가 함유된 경우 CNT의 보강효과로 인해 노출시간에 따른 인장강도의 감소가 낮게 나타났다.

Effects of Ar-Plasma Treatment in Alkali-Decomposition of Poly(ethylene terephthalate)

  • The ablation effects of Ar-plasma treatment and alkali-decomposition behavior in NaOH solution of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film were investigated. The modifications were evaluated by analysis of atomic force microscopy topographical changes, and by the measurement of decomposition yield in conjunction with heats of formation and electron densities of acyl carbon calculated by Parameterization Method 3 method. It has shown that the alkali-decomposition is hampered by plasma treatment and its decomposition yield is closely related with plasma treatment conditions such as exposure time to plasma. Plasma-treated PET films exhibited lower decomposition yield, compared to that of virgin PET. Increasing plasma exposure time contributes positively to decrease the decomposition yield. It has also shown that the topography of PET surface was affected by the base-promoted hydrolysis as well as Ar-plasma treatments. These behaviors are attributed to the decreased nucleophilicity of acyl carbon damaged by the ablation of Ar-plasma.

성숙한 랫트의 번식 기능에 있어 프탈레이트/아디페이트 에스테르의 주산기 노출의 영향 (Effects of Phthalate/Adipate Esters Exposure during Perinatal Period on Reproductive Function after Maturation in Rats)

  • 프탈레이트 에스테르는 플라스틱 가소제로서 이용되며 또한 유제품과 같은 음식에서 미량으로 발견되고, 종종 내분비 교란물질로 의심되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 DBP, DINP 또는 DEHA의 주산기 노출이 랫트에 있어 성 성숙 후, 번식기능 특히 뇌의 성분화에 어떤 영향을 끼치는 지에 대해 조사하였다. 이를 수행하기 위해서, 어미에게 식물성 에스트로겐의 함유가 낮은 분말 사료에 다음과 같은 단계적 농도의 DBP (20, 200, 2000, 10000 ppm), DINP (40, 400, 4000, 20000 ppm), DEHA (480, 2400, 12000 ppm)를 혼합한 후, 임신 15일째부터 출생 후, 21일째 (이유기)까지 섭취 시켰고, 성 성숙 후, 혈청 성호르몬 및 성선자극호르몬의 레벨과 교배행동 및 성주기 회귀를 분석하였다. 그 결과, DBP, DINP 또는 DEHA의 주산기 노출에 의한 생후 20~21주째의 암수 랫트에 있어, 성호르몬 및 성선자극호르몬의 레벨뿐만 아니라 암컷의 성주기의 회귀에 대해 어떠한 영향을 주지 않았다. 이것은 시상하부-하수체-성선축의 내분비계를 제어하는 뇌의 성분화에는 이들 화학물질이 영향을 주지 않았다는 사실을 시사한다. 하지만, 수컷의 성행동 특히, 사정 (ejaculation)과 암컷의 로도시스 반응이 억제되는 것이 관찰되었다. 이러한 결과로부터 DBP, DINP 또는 DEHA의 주산기 노출은 성선자극 호르몬의 분비에는 영향을 주지 않지만, 성행동을 제어하는 시상하부의 어떤 영역에 직접적으로 작용할 가능성 즉, 뇌의 성분화에 영향을 끼쳐 성 성숙 후, 성 특이적 행동을 억제시킬 가능성을 시사한다.

Thermomechanical behavior of alkali-activated slag/fly ash composites with PVA fibers exposed to elevated temperatures

  • The present study fabricated polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber-reinforced alkali-activated slag/fly ash (AASF) composites with varying mixture ratios of slag and fly ash. The thermomechanical behaviors of the AASF composites exposed to 200, 400, 600, or 800℃ were evaluated by means of compressive strength test, visual observation, and fire resistance tests. X-ray diffractometry, mercury intrusion porosimetry, and thermogravimetry tests were performed to analyze the microstructure change of the AASF composites upon exposure to high temperatures. Specimens exhibited a gradual strength loss up to 600℃, while also showing a significant decrease in the strength above 600℃. The fire resistance test revealed the occurrence of an inflection point as indicated by an increase in the internal temperature at around 200℃. In addition, specimens showed the dehydration of C-S-H gel, the presence of åkermanite, gehlenite, and anorthite upon exposure to 800℃, which is associated with the formation of macropore population with pores having diameters of 1-3 ㎛ and 20-40 ㎛. Visual observation indicated that the PVA fibers mitigated the cracking and/or spalling of the specimens upon exposure to 800℃.
