여대생의 자궁경부암검사(Pap test) 행위의도 예측 경로모형 (A Prediction of Behavioral Intention on Pap Screening Test in College Women: A Path Model)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to predict the effects of behavioral intention on pap screening tests in unmarried college women using a path model. Methods: The study subjects were 216 university students and data were collected through self-report questionnaires including knowledge, attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, behavioral intentions to take the Pap test, and health responsibility. Results: Knowledge regarding the Pap test was moderate. The factors of knowledge, attitude, and perceived behavioral control negatively influenced the behavioral intention of the Pap test. However, the factors of subjective norms and health responsibility positively influenced behavioral intention. Conclusion: Subjective norms are the most importance factor to increase the intentions of the Pap test among unmarried college women. It is also necessary to eliminate barriers to undergoing pap testing, as well as to provide nursing intervention to obtain correct knowledge and a positive attitude regarding the Pap screening test.

학생 정서·행동특성 검사 및 관리에 대한 학부모의 지식과 태도 (Parents' Knowledge and Attitudes Regarding a Screening Test for and Subsequent Management of Students' Emotional and Behavioral Problems)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate parents' perceptions and attitudes regarding a screening test for and subsequent management of students' emotional and behavioral problems. Methods: A descriptive research design was used, and included disproportional stratified and cluster random sampling. The sample comprised 223 parents of elementary, middle, and high school students. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Chi-squared test, and ANOVA with SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results: Overall, parents responded that they knew of the goals, types, and tools of screening tests for students' emotional and behavioral problems. In total, 64.6% of parents reported having information for the screening test in advance. Only 13.5%(n=30) of students had emotional and behavioral problems in the last year. Among these students, 56.7%(n=17) were referred to mental health facilities but only 29.4%(n=5) of them received ongoing management from these facilities. Conclusion: These findings suggest that parents should receive information about the screening test for and subsequent management of students' emotional and behavioral problems. Health professionals need to build strategies to provide ongoing management for students who have emotional and behavioral problems.

Cinnarizine을 Propranolol이나 Metoprolol과 병용할 때의 행동약리학적 연구 (Pharmacological Studies on the Behavioral Effects of Cinnarizine Coadministered with Propranolol or Metoprolol)

  • The behavioral effects of propranolol (60mg/kg) and metoprolol (100mg/kg) each alone and coadministered orally with cinnarizine (100mg/kg) were investigated and compared with each of betablockers alone treated group in rodents. Propranolol showed depressive effects through locomotor activity, conditioned avoidance response, rota-rod test, traction test, and analgesic effect in mice. When combined with cinnarizine and propranolol, the behavioral depressive effect of propranolol was reduced comparing with propranolol alone treated group. However, metoprolol alone or combined with cinnarizine didn't showed any behavioral depressive effect so much as propranolol.

  • Purpose: The study aimed to identify the effects of a newborn care education program on newborn care confidence and behavioral accuracy of primiparas in a postpartum care center. Method: This was a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design. Subjects were 29 primiparas selected from a postpartum care center in D and P hospitals in Ulsan. The intervention was a newborn care education program which was composed of education with a booklet, demonstration, watching a video, and verbal encouragement. The outcome variables were newborn care confidence and behavioral accuracy. Data was collected from Feb. 1 to Mar 22 in 2005 with self-administered questionnaires and observation by researchers. Data was analyzed using the $X^2-test$, Fisher's exact test, t-test and ANCOVA. Result: The experimental group showed significantly higher score changes between the pre-test and post-test in confidence and behavioral accuracy than the control group. Conclusion: The newborn care education program showed positive effects on newborn care confidence and behavioral accuracy of primiparas in a postpartum care center. Therefore, we recommend that this program should be applied in postpartum care centers.

Comparative Behavioral Correlation of High and Low-Performing Mice in the Forced Swim Test

  • Behavioral analysis in mice provided important contributions in helping understand and treat numerous neurobehavioral and neuropsychiatric disorders. The behavioral performance of animals and humans is widely different among individuals but the neurobehavioral mechanism of the innate difference is seldom investigated. Many neurologic conditions share comorbid symptoms that may have common pathophysiology and therapeutic strategy. The forced swim test (FST) has been commonly used to evaluate the "antidepressant" properties of drugs yet the individual difference analysis of this test was left scantly investigated along with the possible connection among other behavioral domains. This study conducted an FST-screening in outbred CD-1 male mice and segregated them into three groups: high performers (HP) or the active swimmers, middle performers (MP), and low performers (LP) or floaters. After which, a series of behavioral experiments were performed to measure their behavioral responses in the open field, elevated plus maze, Y maze, three-chamber social assay, novel object recognition, delay discounting task, and cliff avoidance reaction. The behavioral tests battery revealed that the three groups displayed seemingly correlated differences in locomotor activity and novel object recognition but not in other behaviors. This study suggests that the HP group in FST has higher locomotor activity and novelty-seeking tendencies compared to the other groups. These results may have important implications in creating behavior database in animal models that could be used for predicting interconnections of various behavioral domains, which eventually helps to understand the neurobiological mechanism controlling the behaviors in individual subjects.

영재아 판별에서 한국판 영재아 행동특성 체크리스트의 유용성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Usefulness of Korean version of Checklist for Behavioral)

  • Characteristics of Superior Children as a Screening Test of Gifted students The purpose of this study was to investigate the usefulness of Korean version of checklist for behavioral characteristics of superior children as a screening test for gifted students. Total 397 children were tested KEDI-WISC (Korean version of Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children), and their parents or primary caretakers took the checklists for behavioral characteristics of superior children individually. Total subjects were divided into 3 groups based on their Full IQ score of KEDI-WICS. The children of IQ 130 and over was gifted group, and those of IQ 115-130 was superior group, and those of below IQ 115 was average group. The analyses of behavioral checklist scores among the groups, gender, grades differences and item analysis of behavioral checklist were done for the purpose of discrimination among 3 groups. As a result, it was found that the Korean version of checklist for behavioral characteristics of superior children was very useful as a screening test for gifted correlations between checklist scores and verbal, performance and full IQ scores were significantly high, which means that IQ and checklist scores were very related. Twenty out of 50 items were found to be discrimination items between gifted and superior group. However, there was no significant difference between grades and gender on the checklist score.

실험적 뇌허혈로 인한 편마비 흰쥐에서 운동 적응 훈련이 기능 회복에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Exercise Adaptive Training on Motor Function after Experimental brain ischemia in Rats)

  • The purpose of this study was to test that the exercise adaptive training enhance behavioral outcome significantly after focal brain ischemia in rats. After occlusion of middle cerebral artery in rats, they were housed in individual standard cages fur 24 hours. The control group was sacrificed 24 hours after ischemic event. The experimental group I was housed in standard cages for 7days. The experimental group ll was housed in enriched environment and had got exercise adaptive training fur 7days. The rats were examined five motor behavioral tests. In motor behavioral tests :postural reflex test, limb placement test, beam-walking test, rotarod test, horizontal wire test. The outcomes of control group and group I were significantly lower than the group II. The conclusion was that exercise adaptive training induced functional repair.

약물남용의 재발 예방을 위한 인지행동접근법의 효과성 (Effectiveness of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to Prevent Relapse of Substance Abuse)

  • The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy to prevent relapse of substance abuse. A total of 8 substance abusing adult clients participated in the program. All the clients were charged with substance use at the time of implementing the program. Two master's level social workers operated the program, which was implemented in a probation office in Seoul. This study included Beliefs about substance use, abstinence self-efficacy, and coping skills as dependent variables in order to investigate the effectiveness. Cognitive-behavioral therapy emphasizes the enhancement of these cognitive and behavioral skills to prevent relapse of substance use. Research hypotheses were partially supported. That is, clients participated in the program had more negative attitude toward substance use and had more effective problem-focused coping skills. Although a research hypothesis of the enhancement of clients' self efficacy was not supported, their mean scores at the final post test were lower than scores at pretest. This study suggests that more studies be needed to in order to confirm the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy with substance abusing clients.

성적 성숙도, 부모양육태도, 성적 성숙 불안이 초등학교 여아의 정서행동문제에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Sexual Maturation, Parenting Attitude and Maturity Fear on Emotional and Behavioral Problems in Elementary School Girls)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the sexual maturation, parenting attitude, maturity fear and emotional and behavioral problems of girls in elementary school, and to examine the relation between these variables and factors that influence emotional and behavioral problems. Methods: Participants were 128 second, third and fourth year students from 3 elementary schools. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA and $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results: Emotional and behavioral problems were related to eating rate, eating breakfast, frequency of late-night snacks and main communicator on pubertal development. Emotional and behavioral problems showed a positive correlation with maturity fear and father's parenting attitude (strictness) and a negative correlation with parenting attitude and father's parenting attitude (intimacy). Maturity fear, father's parenting attitude, eating breakfast, and main communicator on pubertal development had significant influence on emotional and behavioral problems of girls in elementary school. Conclusion: Findings show that for effective management of emotional and behavioral problems in elementary school girls, programs including coping with maturity fear, supportive parenting of father, diet education, and functional communication with mother on pubertal development should be developed.

당뇨환아가 지각하는 자기효능과 환자역할행위이행에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relationship of Perceived Self-efficacy and Sick-role behavioral Compliance in Diabetic children)

  • This study was designed to identify the relationship of perceived self-efficacy and sick-role behavioral compliance in diabetic children. The forty-two diabetic children participating in this study were selected from outpatients. he period of data collection was August 8 to December 9, 1994. Collected data were analyzed by means of chi-square test, t-test, Pearson correlation using SPSS/P $C^+. The result are summarized as follows : 1. The mean score of perceived self-efficacy was 3. 21 that of sick-role behavioral compliance 3.17. 2. Perceived self-efficacy and sick-role behavioral compliance had a positive correlation which was statistically significant(r=0.77, p<0.001). 3. There were statistically significant difference in perceived self-efficacy according to age(p<0. 01) and acknowledgment of prescribed calories in the diabetic diet(p<0.001). 4. There were statistically significant difference in sick-role behavioral compliance according to age (p<0.01) and acknowledgment of prescribed calories in the diabetic diet (p<0.001). These results suggest that perceived self-efficacy is an important variable in the compliance of diabetic children. Nursing intervention needs to be directed at promoting perceived self-efficacy to maintain sickrole behavioral compliance for diabetic children. Therefore programs of nursing intervention should be revised in order to promote perceived self-efficacy in diabetic children.en.
