The purpose of this study was to identify aesthetic concepts of‘Sarangbang’furniture during the Yi-dynasty period and aesthetic descriptions indicating each concept expressed by experts in traditional furniture. The furniture selected for the study includes desks, table bookcases, document and stationary boxes (mungab), letter holders (Kobi) and inkstone boxes (younsang) with lacquer and oil finish on. The respondents were 72 traditional furniture experts; researchers collectors, sellers and artists related to period furniture. The important points of aesthetic descriptors were collected 123 from related literature. From experts' answers, 47 representative descriptors were selected. Data were analyzed with the SPSS using frequency, Percentage mean, factor analysis, t-test and C2. The results were as follows; 1. The aesthetic concept of sarangbang furniture during the Yi-dynasty can be categorized into 9 aspects; appearance of beauty, stability the interior space, naturalness, nobleness/harmony of lines, detail/refinement, simplicity, diversity solidity and surface division. 2. The characteristics of the Korean traditional furniture can be described using 47 descriptors explaining 9 concepts mentioned above.

The role of fabric now directly related with the expression of the beauty of clothing and it provides new and creative ideas. This study was aimed at reviewing basic data that can be used in systematic design development through fabric expression for today's fashion designers who must study unique, original fashion design development. For systematic development of design technique through fabric expression, fabric expression methods and characteristics, aesthetic characteristics and fabric design of 'art to wear' were reviewed and the results are as follows. First, the highly wrought fabric expression of art to wear was confirmed to be comprehending a message within itself. Second, aesthetic characteristics of fabric expression used in art to wear can be classified as decorativeness, extensity, 2-D pictorialness, handicraft, compounding and rearrangement, and 3-D characteristics. Third, the 6 aesthetic characteristics have unique design features and aesthetic categories. The understanding the fabric expression techniques through study on the classification of the fabric expression in 'art to wear' is expected to be extended to proposition of creative direction and inspiration of modern fashion.

다양한 문화와 문명 속에서 예술가들은 새로운 무언가를 창작하기 보다는 고전의 아름다움을 재해석하고 현대에 맞게 정의 하는 새로운 발상을 시도하고 있다. 즉, 현대의 문화 트렌드는 넘쳐나는 많은 정보들 속에서 고전의 감성과 예술가의 현대적 감각이 합쳐지는 새로운 문화가 수행되고 있는 시점이다. 본 연구는 이러한 문화의 변화에 맞춰 다양한 문화와 디자인의 결합을 시도하고자한다. 소설 이효석의 메밀꽃 필 무렵에 나타난 개인의 심리적 정서, 불가능한 체험의 세계를 표현한 특징을 바탕으로 현실과 상상 속 이분화 된 세계의 경계 부분인 불완전한 의식 영역은 사고와 잠재적인 세계로서 독자로 하여금 상상력을 일으키며, 이러한 문학적 서정성은 새로운 문화를 형성하는 분야이다. 또한 시각화하기 좋은 언어의 구성으로 연구자는 소설 속에서의 언어를 바탕으로 그 속에 내재되어 있는 상징적, 심상적 아름다움을 디자인의 소재로 활용하여 조형분석 하고자 한다.

타인에게 긍정적 이미지를 전달하기 위한 현대인의 외모관리 열풍으로 미용은 과학과 기술을 바탕으로 세분화, 다양화되면서 전문기술직으로 자리매김하였다. 메이크업 미용사 국가기술자격증이 미용사(통합)에서 분리되면서 실기검정 과제에 대한 실효성 검증과 함께 산업체 현장에서 메이크업 미용인의 직무 태도와의 상관성에 대해 분석할 필요성이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 제1과제인 웨딩(로맨틱), 웨딩(클래식), 한복, 내추럴 메이크업 등의 뷰티메이크업 시술로 인해 메이크업 미용인이 인지하는 직무 효능감과 직무만족도를 알아보고자 가설설정 후 연구하고자 한다. 연구 결과 웨딩 클래식 메이크업과 웨딩 로맨틱 메이크업 시술이 메이크업 미용인에게 직무 효능감과 직무만족도를 각각 유발하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 메이크업 업무 특성상 채도가 높고 강렬한 색상 표현이 직무 태도에 긍정적 영향을 미침을 시사하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구 결과를 토대로 실효성을 배가시킨 메이크업 실기과제의 업데이트와 메이크업 미용인의 직무태도 향상을 위한 향후 노력이 필요할 것으로 판단한다.

Men study the nature in two ways. Scientists and mathematicians inquire a branch of those two ways. Mathematical formulations are the tools and the expressions of their nature. Meanwhile, the other branch, the art, alms for different inquiry. Instead of formulating the nature, the artists create their masterpieces from their ultimate source, the Mother Nature. For thousands of years these two branches have grown together, influencing each others work. Some mathematicians find that formulation, are not enough to fully express the beauty of nature. It is believed that such a simple expression, formula, easily omits the careful details of nature. The nature is simply too chaotic to be shaped with a formula. Of those mathematicians, Mandelbrot, one of the first to realize this matter, introduced the world of fractal geometry. Fractals give new possibilities. It allows us not to limit ourselves to linear prospect, rather a whole new view of this chaotic beauty of the nature. A popular practice to understand fractals is in costume design. The artistic characteristic and organization mechanism is appalled to costumes. Meanwhile, another practice, rather aggressive, is using computer to create an image of fractals. This image is then used for motives to generate artistic expressions. Computer and paper ironing technique is used for fashion illustration in this research. The works were synthesized arid transformed from computer programs. To add more traditional painting touch to this work, Paper ironing technique was used. Since the of effect of this technique is so random, irregular, and unordered, it corresponds to fractal consideration. This thesis asserts an another prospect to fractal as a structural way of describing nature ailed fashion illustration, rather than restricting it to only mathematical theory.

유미 운동은 산업화에 대한 반발하며 디자인의 질을 고양시켜 삶의 질을 향상시키자는 미적 운동이었다. 유미 운동은 대중에게 미적 감각을 심어주어 대중의 생활의 질을 개선하고 따라서, 디자인의 질을 개선하며 예술을 위한 예술을 추구하는 운동이었다. 이러한 유미 운동의 밑거름이 되는 유미주의는 총체적인 미적 개념을 강조하였으며, 이러한 미적 개념은 텍 스타일 디자인 운동에 새로운 활기를 불어넣어 주었다. 본 논문은 기계생산이 불러일으킨 빅토리아 사회를 정화시키고 미적 감각을 전하는 유미주의에 대한 연구를 통하여 유미주의 이 텍 스타일을 디자인에 미친 영향을 연구하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통한 유미주의가 텍 스타일 디자인에 미친 영향은 다음과 같이 분석된다 : 첫째로, 일본예술의 영향으로 텍 스타일 디자인을 2차원적으로 접근하도록 유도하여 단순하고 담대한 성격의 디자인으로 이끌었다. 둘째로, 라파엘 전파의 운동의 영향으로 텍 스타일 디자인의 색채는 연한 색조를 띠게 되었다. 셋째로, 모리스의 자연을 영감으로 한 창의적인 디자인이 성공적인 경지에 오르면서 디자인의 질이 향상되는데 이바지하게 되었다. 넷째로, 유미 운동의 절대적인 영향을 받은 리버티 회사의 창의적인 디자인은 미적 추구를 위함과 동시에 디자인의 질을 향상시키려는 모리스, 고드 윈, 루이스 데이 등의 노력에 합세하여 궁극적으로 창의적인 현대의 영국의 텍 스타일 디자인을 이룩하는데 지대한 공헌을 하였다.

The purpose of this study is to review the innovation of Vidal Sassoon's hair design. His hair styling was created in 1950-60, and it was related to the Zeitgeist, 'Convulsion'. It was aesthetic reform that eliminated artificially of headdress through new design concept and high technique. It was social renovation that changed women's life through freedom, ease and mobility of hair form. Also, it was scientific innovation that emphasized improvement of hair care. Therefore this researcher set a high value on his contribution in beauty industry, and studied the formative characteristics of his hair styling. The results are as follows: The formative characteristics are classified into the simplicity of form, the mobility of construction, and the variety of color and texture. 1. The simplicity of form showed through geometric form. Vidal Sassoon's hair design had the overthrow traditional concept of femininity and beauty; in addition, it conferred freedom on not only hair itself but also women's action. 2. The naturalism and mobility of construction was found in layered and softly swinging hair made up by skillful cutting technique. It was developed by studying on the dynamism of sports in 1984 LA Olympic games. 3. The variety of color and texture showed conspicuously its visual evidence because of the simplicity of form. Especially, he borrowed factors of fine art, that is to say, form, space, texture, line, color and light, and created a performance art. His work is analyzed into an art, and he is one of the best artists.

^x The enviroment defines the living conditions for people and has at the same time the possibility to create new environment. In Korea, where the rate of urbanization reached more than 50% in 1970′s the priority has been put on the economic development and administrative function. Under the circumstance, visual environmental field was dealt lightly and it resulted in undesirable environment. The techniques of Mordern Arts (Montage, Depeysment, Tromp L′oeil, P.O.P Art, etc.) helped Super Graphics appear in the urban areas. Environmental Art has been expended into the public space and people came to recognize the Arts as the "Street Art" or "Street as Gallery". Super Graphics has four types 1) Resident′s Super Graphics ; Minority groups came to maintain social equality and rights, in cooperation with each other. Such maintenance required general urbanites to form communities which gave birth to the community art, Mural Painting. 2) Environmental Super Graphics ; Beauty has come to be stressed in order to improve the quality of urban lives in the course of inescapable urban development. Instead of renewal of all established construction conservation oriented renewal was encouraged. 3) Super Graphics as Population Arts ; In the 1960′s artists repulsed the establishments in an efforts to open new phase independent from the expressional in the arts. They recognized the relationship between painting, society and the public in different angle and tried to describe all living space on canvas. 4) Super Graphics as Advertisement ; Super Graphics functions as efficient media to deliver images to the urbanites. Super Graphics as media plays the role for political propaganda and commercial advertisements according to their purposes. In Korea, especially, it is required to introduce the environmental Super Graphics. But it is desirable to introduce Super Graphics with Korean culture and sense of beauty. Designers themselves are also required to have responsibility to improve the quality of urban culture.

Digital makeup(DM), depending upon computer graphic softwares, is applied to various fields, e.g. character works in movie and game industries and visual printouts in printing works. Focused on makeup field, DM is extremely conducive to developing, scientizing and informationalizing makeup patterns. Despite of unlimited potential of DM of which market size has been growing day by day, its practical use by domestic makeup experts and educators is much less active than expected as far, due to the lack of knowledge accumulation. The purpose of this study is to suggest some theoretical frameworks to generalize DM techniques and analyze two cases using the frames therefore support academicians' recent efforts to theorize DM techniques. The study 1) defines and categorizes the concepts of DM and DFX(digital special effect); 2) reviews the literature relevant to DM and generalizes the types and methods of DM techniques; 3) applies general frames to analyzing two movie cases, famous for their DM effects; 4) then suggests, based upon analytical results, some efficient ways for makeup experts to use DM techniques in practice. This study contributes to providing the theoretical grounds to conceptualize DM thus broadening makeup artists' interests in DM and awakening the scholarly concerns in cultural technology including DM.

Today a new culture called fusion has been forming. And it is spreading at an alarming rate in our society. When people talk about the character of Korean beauty and Korean culture, they speak taking pottery as an example. We can speak that the pottery is a core of culture which represent our people. And I think its pattern can be a good material for fusion. Also, among many Western artists, Mondrian is an unique painter who is to do with our culture. So, in this study, I chose the patterns described in Buncheong pottery and the Mondrian's works for the development of fusion textile design. Patterns expressed on Buncheong pottery are, for the most part, abstract patterns simplified the shape of object. And the Mondrian's works is the geometrical abstract painting be made by vertical and horizon. Using those I intend to develop the fusion textile designs which mixed Oriental culture and Western culture. Also, I intended to simulate them on ties and clothes and present the possibility of culture merchandise development. The reasons for doing so to let other peoples of the world, know about our excellent culture.
