A Study of Comparing and Analyzing Electric Vehicle Battery Charging System and Replaceable Battery System by Considering Economic Analysis (경제성을 고려한 전기자동차 충전시스템과 배터리 교체형 시스템의 비교분석 연구)

  • Electric vehicle usage is currently very low, but it will be increase with development of electric vehicle technology and a good government policy. Moreover in 2020, advanced electric vehicle manufacturing system will give high performance for its price and mass production. Electric vehicle will become widespread in Korea. From an operational and a planned viewpoint, the electric power demand should be considered in relation to diffusion of electric vehicles. This paper presents the impact of the various battery charge systems. A comparison is performed for electric vehicle charging methods such as, normal charging, fast charging, and battery swapping. In addition, economic evaluation for the replaceable battery system and the quick battery charging system is performed through basic information about charging Infrastructure installation cost. The results of the evaluation show that replaceable battery system is more economical and reliable in side of electric power demand than quick battery charging system.

  • A simple discontinuous conduction mode(DCM) flyback type active power factor corrector for low power supply resents an effective resistive load to its power input. It is therefore well suited as an inexpensive high power factor rectifier for office equipment. An equivalent circuit model for the Active Power Factor Corrector based on the "Loss Free Resistor" concept is presented. This simple model correctly describes the basic power processing properties of the Active Power Factor Corrector, including input port resistor emulation, output port power some characteristics.teristics.

  • A new high efficiency DC/DC converter is proposed, which is derived from the conventional asymmetric half-bridge converter. Because the proposed converter has better ZVS condition compared with the conventional asymmetric half-bridge converter, it shows a high efficiency along the wide load range. In this paper, the basic operations of the proposed converter is analyzed and compared with that of the conventional half-bridge converter, and the excellent performance of the proposed converter is verified by the experimental results with the 425W, 385-170Vdc prototype of the power supply for PDP (Plasma Display Panel) Sustain Driver of PDP TV.

  • Recently, the need for strengthening reinforced concrete(R.C.) structure has been increased, particularly when there is an increase in load requirements, a change in use, a degradation problem, or design/construction defects. The use of composite materials for structural repair presents several advantages and has been investigated all over the world. It is well known that the incorporation of carbon fiber sheet(CFS) with concrete is one of the most effective ways to strengthen the R.C. structure. In this papers, experimentally investigated the ductile behavior of the R.C. beams strengthened with CFS, and provided the basic data for design of R.C. beams strengthened with CFS. Tests were carried out with 15 beams ($20cm{\times}30cm{\times}240cm$) reinforced with CFS, and with parameters including and the ratio of tensile reinforcement to that of balanced condition and number of CFS. The results show that strengthened and non-strengthened beams exhibit different ductile behovior. Non-strengthened beams showed increase of ductility as amount of the tensile reinforcement decreased. However, bearing capacity of the CFS-strengthened beams are dictated by the strength of the CFS layers that a very high ductility is indicated for the beams with large number of CFS.

  • Heart related diseases mainly caused by heavy work load and increasing stress in human daily life. Therefore, researches on mobile healthcare monitoring for daily life has been carried out. Notably, wearable healthcare monitoring system which has least restriction has been tried to provide an emergency alert of abnormal heart rate. In this study, we developed chair type unconstrained BCG measurement system which able to perform continuous heart status monitoring at the office and daily life in the unconstrained way. Furthermore, adaptive threshold is used to detect the heart rate from BCG signals. The HRV(heart rate variability) is calculated from heart rate interval. ECG signal measured using conventional method and BCG signal measured using unconstraint system are carried out simultaneously for the purpose of performance evaluation. From the comparison result, BCG signal shows a similar heart beat characteristic as ECG signal. This proves the possibility of practical implementation of unconstraint healthcare monitoring system. In addition, medical examination like valsalva maneuver is performed to observe the changes in HRV due to stress. By performing valsalva maneuver, heart is said to be placed under an artificial physical stress condition. Under this artificial physical stress condition, the time and frequency domain of HRV parameters are evaluated.

  • In these days, the design of a structure for reducing or eliminating noise and vibration is getting more important, as the social demands for reducing environmental pollution rise. In this paper, the basic concept and performance verification test results of the recently developed vertical vibration isolator are presented. The isolator attenuates vibration using the damping action from the friction plane made of PTFE and provides the restoring force from the polyurethane springs arranged in vertical and horizontal directions. The performance verification tests consist of a test for identifying performance change during load rate variation and a test for confirming the force-displacement relationship assumption in vibration force range.

  • Voltage stabilization is an essential component of power quality in low voltage DC (LVDC) microgrid. The microgrid demands the interconnection of a number of small distributed power resources, including variable renewable generators. Therefore, the voltage can be maintained in a stable manner through the control of these distributed generators. In this study, we did research on the new advanced operating method for a photovoltaic (PV) simulator in order to achieve interconnection to a bipolar LVDC microgrid. The validity of this voltage stabilization method, using the distributed generators, is experimentally verified. The test LVDC microgrid is configured by connecting the developed PV simulator and DC load, DC line, and AC/DC rectifier for connecting the main AC grid. The new advanced control method is applied to the developed PV simulator for the bipolar LVDC grid in order to stabilize the gird voltage. Using simulation results, the stabilization of the grid voltage by PV simulator using the proposed control method is confirmed the through the simulation results in various operation scenarios.

  • This paper aims to provide information to generate a statistical load model of an educational server by analyzing workload of an e-Learning sewer at Dankook University. The result of the analysis shows file size distribution, access frequency and transmission volume for each file type, access interval, changes in preference and clients access rate by networks. In particular, it had different results from previous studies about video file's size distribution and file distribution based on access frequency. This is because the characteristics of e-learning are influenced by using authoring tools for making into video file and by freeing the number of students who register for a course. The result in this paper can be used as a basic data for studies designed to improve e-learning system architecture and server performance.

Analyzing the Spatio-temporal Trend in TMDL Water Quality for Gyeongnam Using Emerging Hot Spot Analysis (수질오염총량제 대응을 위한 경남 하천 수질의 시공간 경향성 분석)

  • This study aimed to provide a basic information for managing the water quality of national and regional 1st rivers in Gyeongnam by analyzing the emerging hot spot patterns in BOD, T-P, and TOC, and by grouping the changing trends into clusters. The emerging hot spot analysis for each water quality item was implemented in ArcGIS Desktop with monthly water quality data from 96 water environmental monitoring stations in Gyeongnam, and then four patterns of water quality change were classified by the K-mean cluster analysis. As for BOD, persistent cold spot pattern covered about 42.9% of target rivers, and T-P concentration tended to be low or be getting lower at over 70% of target rivers. While, for TOC, about 70% of target rivers resulted in oscillating hot spots. In addition, the cluster analysis showed that the downstream of Nakdong river had the top priority in terms of water quality management because of the increasing concentration for all the three water quality.

Optimization of Sandwich Structures of a Small Aircraft Wing using Automated Aero- Structure Interaction Systems (자동화된 공력-구조 연계 시스템을 이용한 소형항공기 날개 샌드위치구조 최적설계)

  • In this research, the design optimization of a composite sandwich has been performed for using as an airplane wing skin. Automated analysis framework for aero-structure interaction is used for calculating load data on the wing. For automated analysis framework, FLUENT is used for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. CFD mesh is generated automatically by using parametric modeling of CATIA and GAMBIT. A computational structure mechanics (CSM) mesh is generated automatically by the parametric method of the CATIA and visual basic script of NASTRAN-FX. The structure is analyzed by ABAQUS. Composite sandwich optimization is performed by NASTRAN SOL200. Design variables are thicknesses of the sandwich core and composite skin panel plies. The objective is to minimize the weight of the wing and constraints are applied for wing tip displacement, global failure index and local failure indexes.
