CFD를 이용한 유도탄 power-on 기저항력 해석 (NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF THE POWER-ON BASE DRAG OF A MISSILE BODY)

  • The pressure is generally lower than that of the freestream at the base of a missile body due to the energy loss by the flow separation around the edge of the base. The base pressure changes in the presence of the thrust jet due to the interaction between the base flow of the missile and the jet flow. In this study, behavior of the missile base pressure by the change of the jet exit pressure and the freestream condition is investigated using the CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) method. Effects of the grid type and the freestream condition are tested. The results are compared with the semi-empirical predictions and the flight test data. The CFD results agree well with the flight test data. The semi-empirical predictions overestimate the base pressure when jet thrust is strong for low freestream speed.

복기추진제의 가속 노화 특성 연구 (Accelerated Aging Characteristics of a Double Base Propellant)

  • 세 가지 다른 온도($60^{\circ}C$, $70^{\circ}C$ 그리고 $75^{\circ}C$)에서 1년 동안 복기추진제의 가속 노화 시험을 수행하였다. 추진제의 노화 특성을 평가하기 위해 고성능 액체크로마토그래피(HPLC)와 AKTS-Thermokinetics 소프트웨어를 사용하여 안정제 함량과 속도론적 분석을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 추진제의 안정제 함량은 노화 온도 및 노화 기간에 따라서 점차적으로 감소하였다. $75^{\circ}C$에서의 안정제 감소 속도는 $70^{\circ}C$와 비교하여 약 2배 정도 빠른 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 실험값들을 속도론적 SB 모델과 2단계 모델로 모사하였고, n1=1, n2=0에서 실제데이터를 가장 잘 모사하였다.

  • Recently, research on projectiles with wings for precision guidance is actively underway. In this study, we analyzed how the tail fins attached to the projectile affect the base drag. Aerodynamic analysis was performed with RANS(Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes) equations using FLUENT, a commercial CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) code. Through the aerodynamic analysis, the base drag characteristics of the projectile by parameters (number, length, thickness, position, shape of tail fin) were investigated. The results of this study are expected to be applicable to aerodynamic design of tail fins mounted on projectiles.

구조전달소음 최소화를 위한 함정탑재장비의 베이스 설계 (Design of the Base for the Onboard Installed Equipment to Minimize Structure-borne Noise)

  • In order to reduce the structure borne noise of the equipment sufficiently, its exciting force should be restricted and additional anti-vibration devices such as resilient mount and bellows should be applied. Since the structure borne noise is dependent on the design of the base for the equipment, it is very important to design the base with low vibration. Therefore, in this research, various types of the base design for the shipboard equipment are investigated to reduce the structure borne noise. In order to design the base with low vibration, the exciting force at the center of the gravity of the equipment is firstly defined through the experiment. Using the exciting force identified by experiments, various types of base designs for the typical turbo machine are evaluated by FEM(finite element method) analysis.

표준 탄도모델 기반 항력감소탄의 모터 자료 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Determination of Motor Data of a Base-Bleed Projectile based on Standard Ballistic Model)

  • In this study, the methodology of determination of base bleed motor data for base bleed projectile based on the NATO standard trajectory model, especially STANAG 4355 Method 2 were presented. Ground combustion experiments and aerodynamic performance firing tests were conducted to determine the drag reduction motor data of the base bleed projectile and this data was described based on the NATO standard ballistic model. The derived drag reduction motor data were input into the ballistic equations to complete the ballistic model and it was confirmed that the calculated predicted trajectory from the ballistic model matched well with the measured trajectory from the aerodynamic performance firing tests.

무기 안정제 $CaCO_3$ 첨가에 따른 단기 추진제의 저장 수명에 관한 연구 (Research on the Storage Life of Single Base Propellant by Adding Inorganic Stabilizer $CaCO_3$)

  • Single base propellant using a nitrate ester compound NC decomposes naturally during storage time. Therefore, the research for storage life extension is necessary to single base propellant. In this research, $CaCO_3$ inorganic stabilizer had been added into single base propellants up to 0.3%, and the accelerated aging test of the propellant was started. And then, with applying the Arrhenius equation, the storage life of the test of the propellant was contrasted with that of reference propellant. As a result, the storage life of the propellant containing $CaCO_3$ inorganic stabilizer was about twice longer than the reference propellant.

  • The danger of self-ignition of single base propellants will increase with time. Therefore, a good prediction of the safe storage time is very important. In order to determine the remaining shelf-life of the propellants, the content of stabilizer is determined. The propellants stored under normal storage conditions about 10 to 18 years were investigated and accelerated aging test was carried out by storing propellant sample at higher temperature. Finally, we analyzed the results by various methods in order to show the best way to predict the realistic shelf-life. The safe storage life of the propellants will be 24 years, at least 15 years. In case of applying Arrhenius's law, using the reaction rate constant at 28$^{\circ}C$ to 30$^{\circ}C$ to predict the shelf-life by accelerated aging test is reasonable for a good prediction.

Cu를 함유한 HSLA-100강 용접 열영향부의 미세 조직 및 인성 (Microstructure and Toughness of Weld Heat-Affected Zone in Cu-containing HSLA-100 steel)

  • A study was made to characterize the microstructures and mechanical properties of the base metal and the heat-affected zone(HAZ) in Cu-bearing HSLA-100 steel. The Gleeble thermal/mechanical simulator was used to simulated the weld HAZ. The relationship between microstructure and toughness of HAZ was studied by impact test, O. M, SEM, TEM, and DSC. The toughness requirement of military specification value was met in all test temperatures for the base metal. The decrease of HAZ toughness comparing to base plate is ascribed to the coarsed-grain and the formation of bainite. Obliquely sectioned Charpy specimens show that secondary crack propagate easily along bainite lath. Improved toughness(240J) at HAZ of $Tp_2=950^{\circ}C$ is due to the fine grain, and reasonable toughness(160~00J) in the intercritical reheated HZA is achieved by the addition of small amount of carbon which affects the formation of "M-A". Cu precipitated during ageing for increasing the strength of base metal is dissolved during single thermal cycle to $1,350^{\circ}C$ and is precipitated little on cooling and heating during subsequent weld thermal cycle. Thus, the decrease of toughness does not occur owing to the precipitation of Cu.

  • Nitrogen oxide gases which were produced by spontaneous reaction of nitrocellulose (NC) in the single base propellant accelerate the decomposition of propellant, and result in the reduction of shelf life, The amount of nitrogen oxide was reduced by the addition of $0.3wt\%$ CaCO3 to conventional stabilizer(DPA) which extended the shelf life of the single base propellant as much as twice compared with commercial propellant.

  • 시, 공간적으로 변하는 해양환경에서 선배열 소나의 성능예측 정보를 추출하기 위해서는 정밀 해양 DB (Data Base)와 함께 현장에서 실시간으로 측정한 해양자료의 연동이 필수적이다. 이러한 실시간 정보와 DB 정보를 융합하여 얻을 수 있는 정보들로는 전술적 운용상황, 근거리 환경소음 분포, 전파손실/탐지확률 분포, 그리고 음파의 전파 경로 등이 있다. 소나 운용자는 이들 정보로부터 최종적으로 전술상황을 판단함과 동시에 소나의 최적 운용 수심 및 방향을 권고할 수 있다. 국과연에서는 이러한 정보를 획득하기 위하여 음탐환경분석 S/W를 개발하였으며, 수차례의 해상시험을 통하여 그 성능을 검증하였다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 해양정보와 DB정보의 융합을 통하여 선배열 소나의 핵심 성능예측 기법인 전파손실/탐지확률 계산과 근거리 환경소음 계산을 수행하는 알고리즘을 제시한다. 아울러 S/W로 구현된 이들 기법들의 해상시험 결과도 제시하고자 한다.
