Optimum compositions for piezoelectric properties of $(Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{(1-x)}Ba_xTiO_3$ ceramics were investigated in the range of $x=0{\sim}0.1$ covering rhombohedral to tetragonal phase regions. No impurity phases other than a perovskite phase were found and the grain size decreased with increasing x. A two-phase coexisting morphotropic phase area rather than boundary dividing rhombohedral and tetragonal phase regions appeared to exist at $x=0.05{\sim}0.08$. As for piezoelectric properties within morphotropic phase compositions, the piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) and the electromechanical coupling factor ($K_p$) showed peak values at x=0.065, 192 pC/N and 34%, respectively, indicating x=0.065 as an optimum composition for piezoelectric $(Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{(1-x)}Ba_xTiO_3$ ceramics.
The dielectric and pyroelectric properties of $Ba_{0.66}$$Sr_{0.38}$$TiO_{3}$(BST) thin films growtn on Pt/Ti/NON/Si us-ing RF magnetron sputtering have been investigated. With increasing the substrate temperature during de-position of the BST film in the range of 300-$600^{\circ}C$ the dielectric and pyroelectric constants of the film were increased due to improved crystallinity of the film. In addition the dependence of the microstructural and electrical properties of BST films onthe deposition temperature of the bottom Pt electrode was studied. The preferred orientation of the BST films as well as the microstructure of the Pt film was greatly in-fluenced by the deposition temperature of the bottom Pt electrode was studied. The preferred orientation of the BSt films as well as the microstructure of the Pt film was greatly in-fluenced by the deposition temperature of the bottom Pt electrodes. and thus so were the pyrolelectric pro-perties of the BST film. The highest value of pyroelectric coefficient at room temperature obtained in this work was $nCcm^{-2}K^{-1}$ which is much higher than those previously reported on other perovskite fer-roelectric thin films.

The correlation between the sintering temperature and dielectric properties in the $Nb^{5+}\;and\;Ta^{5+}$ doped BaTi$O_3$ solid solutions have been investigated. The samples were sintered at temperatures ranging from 1250 to 1350 ${^{\circ}C}$ for 4 h in air. SEM, XRD and SEM/EDS techniques were used to examine the structure of the samples with particular focus on the incorporation of $Nb^{5+}\;and\;Ta^{5+}$ ions into the BaTi$O_3$ crystal lattice. The X-ray diffraction peaks of (111), (200) and (002) planes of BaTi$O_3$ solid solution doped with different fractions of $Nb^{5+}\;and\;Ta^{5+}$ were investigated. The dielectric properties were analyzed and the relationship between the properties and structure of doped BaTi$O_3$ was established. The fine-grain and high density of the doped BaTi$O_3$ ceramics resulted in excellent dielectric properties. The dielectric properties of this solid solutions were improved by adding a small amount of dopants. The transition temperature of the 1.0 mole% $Ta^{5+}$ doped BaTi$O_3$ solid solution was $\sim$110 ${^{\circ}C}$ with a dielectric constant of 3000 at room temperature. At temperatures above the Curie temperatures, the dielectric constant followed the Curie-Weiss law.
Perovskite structured barium titanate particles ($BaTiO_3$) platelets were synthesized by molten salt synthesis and topochemical microcrystal conversion. As the precursors of $BaTiO_3$, plate-like $BaBi_4Ti_4O_{15}$ particles were first synthesized by the reaction of $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}$, $BaCO_3$, and $TiO_2$ at $1080^{\circ}C$ for 3 h in $BaCl_2$-KCl molten salt. After the topochemical reactions, layer-structured $BaBi_4Ti_4O_{15}$ particles transformed to the perovskite $BaTiO_3$ platelets. $BaTiO_3$ particles with thickness of approximately $0.5{\mu}m$ and a length of $10-15{\mu}m$ retained the morphology feature of the $BaBi_4Ti_4O_{15}$ precursor. For <001> $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-32.5PbTiO_3$ (PMNT)-5 wt % PbO piezoelectric ceramics textured with 5 vol % of $BaTiO_3$ templates, the Lotgering factor reached 0.82, and $d_{33}$ was 870 pC/N.
A lead free piezoelectric material, bismuth sodium barium titanate $(Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{0.94}Ba_{0.06}TiO_3$ (BNBT), was considered as an environment-friendly alternatives for the current PZT system. A perovskite BNBT was synthesized by conventional bulk ceramic processing technique. In order to improve piezoelectric properties, $La_2O_3$ as a dopant was incorporated into the BNBT system up to 0.025 moi, ana the effects on subsequent the piezoelectric ana dielectric properties were systematically investigated. With increasing $La_2O_3$ contents, the equilibrium grain shape was remarkably evidenced and sintered density was increased. Piezoelectric and dielectric properties were s]town to have maximum values at the $La_2O_3$ contents of 0.02 mol. $La^{3+}$ ions seemed to act as a softener in the BNBT system and to enhance dielectric and piezoelectric properties in this study.
The barium strontium calcium titanate((Ba,Sr,Ca)$TiO_3$) powders prepared by the sol-gel method and $MnCO_3$ as acceptor were mixed oxide method. The microstructure was investigated with variation of $Pr_{2}O_{3}$ amount. The BSCT powder and $Pr_{2}O_{3}$ were mixed with organic vehicle(Ferro. B75001). BSCT thick films were fabricated by the screen-printing method on alumina substrates. The bottom electrode was Pt and upper electrode was Ag, respectively. All BSCT thick films were sintered at $1420^{\circ}C$, for 2h. The result of the differential thermal analysis(DTA), exothermic peak at around $654^{\circ}C$ due to the formation of the polycrystalline perovskite phase. In the X-ray diffraction(XRD) patterns, all BSCT thick films showed the typical perovskite polycrystalline structure and no pyrochlore phase was dbserved. The microstructure investigated by scanning electron microscope(SEM). Pore and grain size of BSCT thick films were decreased with increasing amount of $Pr_{2}O_{3}$ dopant. And the average grain size and thickness of BSCT thick films doped with 0.1 mol% $Pr_{2}O_{3}$ was $3.09{\mu}m$, $60{\mu}m$, respectively. The relative dielectric constant decreased and dielectric loss decreased with increasing amount of $Pr_{2}O_{3}$ dopant, the values of the BSCT thick films no doped with $Pr_{2}O_{3}$ were 7443 and 4 % at 1 kHz, respectively.

Barium titanate ($BaTiO_3$) glycolate particles were synthesized at temperature as low as $100^{\circ}C$ through glycothermal reaction by using $Ba(OH)_2{\cdot}8H_2O$ and amorphous titanium hydrous gel as precursors and ethylene glycol as solvent. The particle size and morphology of $BaTiO_3$ glycolate powders can be controlled by varying the reaction conditions such as the reaction temperature and Ba:Ti molar ratio of starting precursors. After glycothermal treatment at $220^{\circ}C$ for 24 h in 1.25:1(Ba:Ti), the average particle size of the $BaTiO_3$ glycolate powder was about 200-400 nm and low agglomeration. $BaTiO_3$ powders were formed by heat-treating the glycolate powder in air at $500-1000^{\circ}C$. As a result, the size of $BaTiO_3$ crystallites changed from around 50-300 nm. It is also demonstrated that the size and shape of $BaTiO_3$ particles investigated as a function of calcination temperature. The $BaTiO_3$ particles obtained from optimum synthesis condition were pressed, sintered and measured for the dielectric property. The $BaTiO_3$ ceramics sintered at $1250^{\circ}C$ for 2 h had 98 % of theoretical density. The ceramics have an average grain size of about $1\;{\mu}m$ and displays the high dielectric constant (~3100) and low dielectric loss (<0.1) at room temperature.
Titanium (Ti) is a bioinert material and has lower elastic coefficient and better strength/volume property than other metals. Ferroelectric materials show alignment of positive and negative charges by poling treatment. This study was purposed to develop a new implant system by combining the advantages of Ti and ferroelectric property of $BaTiO_3$ (BTO). It was performed with the assumption that the $Ca^{2+ }$ ions would be easily attracted on negatively charged surface and the attracted cation might behave as nuclei for bone-like crystal growth in biological solutions. A ferroelectric BTO thin film on Ti was fabricated and the effect of poling treatment on the improvement of calcium phosphate (Ca-P) formation in biological solutions was evaluated. After immersion in Eagle’s minimum essential media (MEM) solution, NaCl was formed on Ti, and Ca-P layer containing NaCl was formed on Ti-O. Weak and sparse Ca-P layers were formed on BTO, while thick, homogeneous, and dense Ca-P layer was formed on negatively polarized BTO (N-BTO), which was confirmed by FE-SEM and EDX. In summary, these results demonstrate that poling the ferroelectric BTO surface negatively is effective for the formation of Ca-P layer in MEM solution, and that N-BTO coating on Ti could be used as a possible alternative method for enhancing the osseointegration of the implants.

Barium titanate (BaTiO3) is considered to be a beneficial ceramic material for multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) applications because of its high dielectric constant and low dielectric loss. Numerous attempts have been made to improve the physical properties of BaTiO3 in response to recent market trends by employing multicomponent alloying strategies. However, owing to its significant number of atomic combinations and unpredictable physical properties, finding a traditional experimental approach to develop multicomponent systems is difficult; the development of such systems is also time-consuming. In this study, 168 new structures were fabricated using special quasi-random structures (SQSs) of Ba1-xCaxTi1-yZryO3, and 1680 physical properties were extracted from first-principles calculations. In addition, we built an integrated database to manage the computational results, and will provide big data solutions by performing data analysis combined with AI modeling. We believe that our research will enable the global materials market to realize digital transformation through datalization and intelligence of the material development process.

Polymer/ceramic composite is of great interest as a dielectric material for embedded capacitors. This paper is concerned in the effects of $BaTiO_3$ particle size on epoxy/$BaTiO_3$ composite films for embedded capacitors. 6 different size powders smaller than 1 $\mu\textrm{m}$ in diameter and bisphenol-A type epoxy were used for this experiment. Dielectric constant of the epoxy/$BaTiO_3$ composite capacitors increases as the powder size increases at the same powder loading, which is due to the increase of tetragonality of the powders as particle size increases. And leakage current of the capacitors also increases dramatically as the powder size increases. It was explained that this is due to the decrease of the number of $BaTiO_3$epoxy/$BaTiO_3$ potential barriers per unit length and, moreover, the enhancement of potential barrier lowering effects caused by increase of potential drop per one barrier. As a result, there is tradeoff between high dielectric constant and low leakage current in the epoxy/$BaTiO_3$ composite capacitors. So it is important to select proper size $BaTiO_3$ powders in accordance with needs.
