직접전력변환 방식을 이용한 전압 sag/swell 보상기의 구현 (Implementation of Voltage Sag/Swell Compensator Using Direct Power Conversion Method)

  • In this paper, a new single phase voltage sag/swell compensator using direct power conversion is introduced. A new compensator consists of input/output filter, series transformer and direct at-ac converter, which is a single-phase back-to-back PWM converter without dc-link capacitors. Advantages of the proposed compensator include: simple power circuit by eliminating dc-link electrolytic capacitors and thereby, improved reliability and increased life time of the entire compensator; simple PWM strategy to compensate voltage sag/swell at the same time and reduced switching losses in the ac-ac converter. Further, the proposed scheme is able to adopt simple switch commutation method without requiring complex four-step commutation method commonly required in the direct power conversion. Simulation results are shown to demonstrate the advantages of the new compensator and PWM strategy.

  • This paper proposes the battery charging algorithm for small-scale wind power generator using three phase PWM converter. it is impossible to control output power of the converter in over wind speed region since back EMF of PMSG is higer than battery voltage. Therefore, battery charging algorithm is proposed to expand battery charging over wind speed region. The suggested method is using the q-axis current for battery charging in the rated wind speed region. In the over wind speed region after it lower back EMF of PMSG using d-axis current it can control output power of the converter. The validity of the proposed algorithm are verified by experiments.

  • DC/DC switching power converters produce DC output voltages from different stable DC input sources regulated by a bi-polar transistor. The converters can be used in regenerative braking of DC motors to return energy back in the supply, resulting in energy savings for the systems containing frequent stops. The voltage mode DC/DC converter is composed of a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) controller, a MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor), an inductor, and capacitors, etc. PWM is applied to control and regulate the total output voltage. It is shown that the output of DC/DC converter depends on the variation of threshold voltage at MOSFET and the variation of pulse width. In the PWM operation, the missing pulses, the changes in pulse width, and a change in the period of the output waveform are studied by SPICE (Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis) and experiments.

  • Today we have excellent motor drive system using high frequency carrier PWM control voltage source inverter with vector control strategy. In the other hand, we have met serious problems caused by high frequency switching. PWM Cyclo-converter called Matrix converter is expected as the new strategy possible to improve these problems and add some more convenient features suitable for new drive system with system integration. In this paper, we will introduce the background of this development and features of this converter from our research, additionally introduce remarkable active promotions for this converter as a survey.

  • DC/DC스위칭 전력 컨버터는 임의의 직류전원을 부하가 요구하는 형태의 직류전원으로 변환시킨다. DC/DC 컨버터는 PWM-IC를 이용하여 주기적으로 입력측에서 출력측으로 전달되는 에너지를 제어하는 기능을 수행하는데, PWM-IC(펄스폭 변조-집적회로), MOSFET(산화물-반도체 전계 효과 트랜지스터), 인덕터, 콘덴서, 저항 등으로 구성되어 있다. 방사선의 영향으로 DC/DC 컨버터의 PWM-IC 를 구성하는 비교기(comparator)와 연산증폭기(OP-Amp.) 등 전자소자의 열화 효과(radiation effects)가 발생되는데, PWM-IC 동작에서 SPICE 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 펄스의 상실, 펄스폭의 변화, 그리고 출력파형의 변화를 연구하는데 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 조명용 LED 구동 장치를 위한 새로운 방식의 LED 구동 모듈화 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 LED 구동 회로는 플라이백 컨버터를 이용하여 교류 입력 전원의 핫 접지와 LED 구동부의 콜드 접지를 절연한다. LED 전류 제어를 용이하게 하기위해 플라이백 컨버터를 동특성이 뛰어난 불연속 모드로 동작시키고, KIA2431을 이용하여 귀환 루프 제어를 한 후, 그에 대한 특성을 파악한다. 제안된 LED 구동 모듈은 폭넓은 교류 전원 입력 범위와 PWM 제어 IC를 직접 제어하여 버스트 디밍을 구현하고 넓은 범위의 LED 밝기 조절이 가능하게 하였다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 LED 구동 모듈에 대한 동작 원리를 설명하고 LED 구동 모듈을 실제로 구현 및 적용하여 제안된 구동 모듈의 유용성을 입증하였다. 또한, 소형화와 모듈화 된 LED 구동 모듈을 병렬로 연결한 다 채널 LED 구동 장치를 제안하고 그 타당성을 검증하였다.

가변 전압기와 역기전력 차동방식을 이용한 센서리스 BLDC 전동기 드라이버 설계 (Design of Sensorless BLDC Motor Driver Using Variable Voltage and Back-EMF Differential Line)

  • A sensorless motor control scheme with conventional back-Electro Motive Force (EMF) sensing based on zero crossing point (ZCP) detection has been widely used in various applications. However, there are several problems with the conventional method for effectively driving sensorless brushless motors. For example, a phase mismatch of 30 degrees occurs between the ZCP and commutation time. Additionally, most of the motor speed/current controls are achieved based on a pulse width modulation (PWM) method, which generates significant noise that distracts the back-EMF sensing. Due to the PWM switching, the ZCP is not deterministic, and thus the efficiency of the motor is reduced because the phase transition points become uncertain. Moreover, the motor driving performance is degraded at a low speed range due to the effect of PWM noise. To solve these problems, an improved back-EMF detection method based on a differential line method is proposed in this paper. In addition, the proposed sensorless BLDC driver addresses the problems by using a variable voltage driver generated from a buck converter. The variable voltage driver does not generate the PWM switching noise. Consequently, the proposed sensorless motor driver improves 1) the signal-to-noise ratio of back-EMF, 2) the operation range of a BLDC motor, and 3) the torque characteristics. The proposed sensorless motor driver is verified through simulations and experiments.

The converters can be used in regenerative braking of DC motors to return energy back in the supply, resulting in energy savings for the systems containing frequent stops. The current mode DC/DC converter is composed of a PWM (pulse width modulation) controller, a MOSFET, and inductor, etc. Pulse width modulation is applied to control and regulate the total output voltage. It is shown that the variation of threshold voltage at MOSFET and the offset voltage increase caused by radiation effects make the PWM pulse unstable. In the PWM operation, the missing pulses, the changes in pulse width, and a change in the period of the output waveform are studied by simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis (SPICE) and experiments.

DC/DC 컨버터의 효율적인 제어기법 연구 (A Study on Effective Control Methodology for DC/DC Converter)

  • DC/DC converters are commonly used to generate regulated DC output voltages with high-power efficiencies from different DC input sources. The converters can be applied in the regenerative braking of DC motors to return energy back to the supply, resulting in energy savings for the systems at periodic intervals. The fundamental converter studied here consists of an IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar mode Transistor), an inductor, a capacitor, a diode, a PWM-IC (Pulse Width Modulation Integrated Circuit) controller with oscillator, amplifier, and comparator. The PWM-IC is a core element and delivers the switching waveform to the gate of the IGBT in a stable manner. Display of the DC/DC converter output depends on the IGBT's changes in the threshold voltage and PWM-IC's pulse width. The simulation was conducted by PSIM software, and the hardware of the DC/DC converter was also implemented. It is necessary to study the fact that the output voltage depends on the duty rate of D, and to compare the output of experimental result with the theory and the simulation.

  • When the electric tractions are stopped or driven through the falling slope way, it occured to surplus energy in the DC power line. At present, these energy are exhausted by breaking-system. The converter is not only capable of feeding energy back into the AC source during excessive regeneration. It is issued for this surplus energy regenerating system. These systems are faced with high voltage and high power for railway DC power regeneration. This paper proposed a parallel PWM converter how to solve these problem.
