Purpose: To introduce our early experience with intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) in the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods and Materials: Eight patients who underwent IMRT for no disseminated nasopharyngeal carcinoma at the Asan Medical Center between September 2001 and November 2002 were evaluate by prospective analysis. According to the 1997 American Joint Committee on Cancer staging classification, 5 had Stage III, and 3 had Stage IVB disease. The IMRT plans were designed to be delivered as a 'Simultaneous Modulated Accelerated Radiation Therapy' (SMART) using the 'step and shoot' technique with a MLC (multileaf collimator). Daily fractions of 2.2-2.5Gy and 1.9-2Gy were prescribed and delivered to the GTV and CTV and clinically negative neck node, respectively. The prescribed dose was 70A-79.0Gy to the gross tumor volume (GTV), 60Gy to the clinical target volume (CTV) and metastatic nodal station, and 46Gy to the clinically negative neck. All patients also received weekly cisplatin during radiotherapy. Acute and late normal tissue effects were graded according to the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) radiation morbidity scoring criteria. Results: Follow-up period was ranging from 5 to 18 months. All patients showed complete response and loco-regional control rate was 100% but one patient died of malnutrition due to treatment related toxicity. There were no Grade 3 or 4 xerostomia and all patients had experienced improvement of salivary gland function. Conclusion: 'Simultaneous Modulated Accelerated Radiation Therapy' (SMART) boost intensity-modulated radiotherapy technique allows parotid sparing as evidenced both clinically and by dosimetry. Initial tumor response and loco-regional control was promising. It is clinically feasible. A larger population of patients and a long-term follow-up are needed to evaluate ultimate tumor control and late toxicity.
Purpose: We examined the effects of a well-dying program on nursing students in terms of death preparation, death recognition and perception of well-dying perception. Methods: The design of this study was quasi-experimental and non-synchronized with a non-equivalent control group. The study was conducted with nursing students: 32 in the experimental group and 36 in the control group. The well-dying program was consisted of five sessions: introduction, thinking about meaning of death, organizing things to do before dying, looking back on my life, and leaving a trail of my life. Descriptive analysis, t-test, ${\chi}^2$ test and ANCOVA were used with SPSS 18.0 program to analyze the data. Results: After attending the program, a difference was observed in death preparation of the experimental group (t=2.61, P=0.014). The death recognition (F=154.15, P<0.001) score of the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group. There was no significant difference between the groups in perception of well-dying (F=0.11, P=0.747). Conclusions: The well-dying program helped nursing students build positive death recognition. Therefore, this study is expected to contribute to development of a death education program for nursing students.

As the conference result of MEPC in IMO, development of ballast water management system corresponding to newly established ballast water management standard (D2 regulation) of shipping is being made an active progress over the whole world. The ballast water management system should treat particular material of more than $10{\mu}m$ in high capacity of more than 500t per hour in the event of filtration process. Also, it is very difficult to develop a practical management system since a limited element which a narrow space of the ship should be designed in the minimal volume is assumed. Therefore, the study promoted a study on the next generation auto back wash media filter to overcome such a limited element. Also, the study performed pressure and flux measurement test followed by thickness of each filter medium for filtration by each size to grasp a relation between absorption and pressure at the time of vacuum filtration and mechanical analysis and turbidity change observation of filtered water after vacuum filtration.

Machine to Machine (M2M) is a technology that presents communication between two or more devices with or without human intervention. M2M communications can be applied for various use cases such as environmental monitoring, health care, smart metering and etc. In most use cases, M2M utilizes sensor nodes to collect data from the intended environment and the data is transmitted back to M2M application through other devices (gateways, sink nodes). In some use cases, M2M devices are being designed to store and process sensor data for improving the reliability of the service; Gateways and sink nodes are also intended to store and process the gathered data from sensor nodes. This kind of approach is very challenging for both academy and industry. In order to enhance the performance of this approach, in this paper, we propose our Common Service Security Platform (CSSP) for M2M devices and gateways. CSSP platform presents solutions for the devices and gateways by making them operate more accurately and efficiently. Besides, we present a comparative analysis of communication protocols and present their performance in accordance with selected metrics.
The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of environments (farms born, testing groups, age at the tests, date at slaughter, ages at slaughter) on body weights at 6, 12, 18 and 24 months of ages, body type measurements at 18 months of age and carcass characteristics in Hanwoo steer populations that were collected from commercial farms and reared in a progeny testing station. Performances of a total of 1,838 steer calves set for tests from 2004 to 2008 were recorded. Carcass characteristics were the carcass grading results evaluated and data collected slaughter scores at 24 months of age. For growth traits of all age classes and body type traits measured at 18 months of age, farms born, test group and linear covariate of age at test were fit in the models. For carcass traits, date at slaughter and linear covariate of ages at slaughter were fit in the models. Effect of farm at birth was not significant for body weight at 24 months of age. Carcass weight, eye muscle area, yield score and back fat thickness were affected by dates at slaughter but not by the ages at slaughter. Marbling score, however, was affected by these two effects. Farms at birth did not seem to affect body type measures greatly. This study will be utilized for Hanwoo Steers genetic evaluation.
Ninety five Hanwoo steers averaging 226kg of body weight were used to investigate the effect of dietary type on feed efficiency, carcass characteristics and economical analysis in Hanwoo feeding over 22 months. Treatments were composed of commercial formula feed (formula feed), TMR and Fermented-TMR (F-TMR). Intakes of dry matter and TDN were greater in the F-TMR than the other treatments during each growing and fattening phase (p<0.05). Although daily body gain of the F-TMR was lowest during the growing phase, but was 48% greater than those of other treatment during the finishing phase (p<0.05). Feed efficiency of the F-TMR was maintained constantly during whole growing and fattening phases. Carcass weight and rib-eye area of the F-TMR were greatest (p<0.05) among treatments. However, meat yield index and the rate of grade A in meat yield were highest in the formula feed having the thinnest back fat. Marbling score was hugely (p<0.05) increased when steers fed F-TMR, and therateofgrade 1+andoverinmeatqualitywas96%intheF-TMR. Although feed cost in the F-TMR was increased by 40% compare to the formula feed, but net income was increased by 29% due to improvement of meat quality and body gain.
The solar and wind power is spreading as a means to $CO_2$ reduction, but it has the characteristics of the volatility depending on the weather changes. This article aims to estimate the additional integration costs in Korea electric system in response to such volatility of increasing solar and wind power generation, using Korea electric power trading analyzer(KEPTA). The analysis utilizes the statistics of "8th Basic Plan for Long-term Electricity Supply and Demand" and "Renewable Energy Plan 3020". As the results, integration costs will be estimated 13.94Won/kWh~32.55Won/kWh, consisting of 8.94Won/kWh as back-up costs, 1.03Won/kWh~4.45Won/kWh as balancing costs, and 3.97Won/kWh~19.16Won/kWh as grid-costs. These results suggest that when the integration costs are secured, Korea electric system will be expected in the stable situation. This article leaves the further studies with taking the technological development of solar and wind power generation, the introduction of energy storage system, and wholesale price of electricity into consideration.
This study examines musical characteristics of so-called 'Hongdae Sound' as a historic musical trend by comparing with 'US 8th Army Sound' and British 'London Punk'. Hongdae Sound refers to the musical trend that was formed with independent bands and musicians who mostly performed live in the club called 'Drug' in Hongdae area, and voluntarily adopted minor musical sensitivity and indie spirit of 'post-punk rock' genre. But as an industrial standpoint the superficial identity of 'indie' interferes with academic approach when analysing musical aspects of Hongdae Sound. Therefore it is necessary to rearrange its characteristics as the musical trend based on regional classification in order to fully appreciate its status in history of Korean popular music. US 8th Army Sound refers to the musical trend that was played within the live stages in US military bases in Korea. Many hired Korean musicians for those shows were able to learn the current popular musical trend in the States, and to spread those to the general public outside the bases. The industrial system of the Army Sound was very similar to that of K-Pop, but when it comes to leading the newest musical trend of 'rock-n-roll', it had more resemblance to that of Hongdae Sound. London punk was the back-to-basic form of pure rock that was armed with social angst and rebel, indie spirit. Its primal motto was 'do-it-yourself', and Hongdae Sound mostly followed its industrial, musical and spiritual paths. London punk was short-lived because it abandoned its indie spirits and became absorbed to the mainstream. But Hongdae sound maintain its longevity by maintaining the spirit and truthfulness of indie, while endlessly experimenting with new trends.
Objective: This study aims to assess the following issues - acquisition level in terms of the information on frequently used drugs of youth, access paths for the information, actual status of the use of drugs frequently used by youth, types of the used drugs, drug abuse among youth, and the consequent drawbacks. This study also takes aims at suggestion of correct role of pharmacists in consideration of drug abuse among youth. Methods: During the period from August 1, 2011 to October 31, 2012, a research design and a question development have been conducted. To the students of the schools that were randomly selected (elementary school's N=99, middle school's N=106, high school's N=115 and university's N=115), it was asked to complete given questionnaire from August 1, 2012 to August 31, 2012. During the period from September 1, 2012 to October 30, 2012, the questionnaires were collected back and the analysis and evaluation of them were carried out. Results: Drugs known to the respondents were a total of 115 different medicines and most of the drugs belonged to over-the-counter drugs. The most well known drug was pain reliever and the second most familiar drug was wound ointment. Most of the respondents found the drugs through direct use and advertisement. In everyday life, more than half of the respondents were using over-the-counter drugs as well as health supplements. The most commonly used drug was analgesic drug. It was showed that the respondents also frequently used the drugs for improving their grades and appearances. It was shown that among the cases of drug use, there were also the cases of misuse and abuse of drugs for the respondents or people around them. Reliability of pharmacists was shown to be high and many students were also satisfied with the pharmacists' guidance for medication. Conclusion: Currently many students are using different kinds of drug in daily life, and there is a possibility that the risk of misuse and abuse of drugs will be increased. Those age groups can easily engage in bad habit of drug use. Thus, promotion on accurate drug information has to be strengthened, and pharmacists are required to conduct correct guidance for drug user's medication in terms of use amount, usage, interactions among different drugs, and potential risks.
Colossal magnetoresistance $La_{0.67}Ca_{0.33}Mn_{0.99}^{57}Fe_{0.01}O_3$ material has been produced by a metal-salt routed sol-gel process method. Magnetic properties of $La_{0.67}Ca_{0.33}Mn_{0.99}^{57}Fe_{0.01}O_3$ have been studied with x-ray diffraction, Rutherford back-scattering spectroscopy(RBS), vibrating sample magnetometer, and Mossbauer spectroscopy. Crystalline $La_{0.67}Ca_{0.33}Mn_{0.99}^{57}Fe_{0.01}O_3$ was perovskite cubic structure with a lattice parameter $a_0=3.868$\AA$$. And there was no appreciable change in the value of the lattice parameter when a small amount (x=0.01) of iron was added. However, Mossbauer and VSM data indicate the Curie temperature of the $La_{0.67}Ca_{0.33}Mn_{0.99}^{57}Fe_{0.01}O_3$ decreased from 282 to 270 k and also the saturation magnetization from 84 to 81 emu/g at 77 K. Mossbauer spectra of $La_{0.67}Ca_{0.33}Mn_{0.99}^{57}Fe_{0.01}O_3$ have been taken at various temperatures ranging form 4.2 K to room temperature. Analysis of $^{57}Fe$ Mossbauer data in terms of the local configurations of Mn atoms has permitted the influence of the magnetic hyperfine interactions to be monitored. The isomer shifts show that the charge state of all Fe ions are ferric. The magnetoresistance of $La_{0.67}Ca_{0.33}Mn_{0.99}^{57}Fe_{0.01}O_3$ was about 33 % at semiconductor-metal transition temperature $T_{SC-M}=250K$.
