Determination of Color Value (L, a, b) in Green Tea Using Near-Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (근적외 분광분석법을 이용한 녹차의 색도 분석)

  • Near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is a rapid and accurate analytical method for determining the composition of agricultural products and feeds. The applicability of near infrared reflectance spectroscopic method was tested to determine the color value (L, a, b) of green tea. A total of 162 green tea calibration samples and 82 validation samples were used for NIRS equation development and validation, respectively. In the developed NIRS equation for analysis of the color value (L, a, b), the most accurate equation for L value was obtained at 2, 8, 6, 1 (2nd derivative, 8 nm gap, 6 points smoothing, and 1pointsecond smoothing), and for a, and b value were obtained at 1, 4, 4, 1 (1st derivative, 4 nm gap, 4points smoothing, and 1 point second smoothing) math treatment condition with SNVD (Standard Normal Variate and Detrend) scatter correction method and entire spectrum ($400{\sim}2,500\;nm$) by using MPLS (Modified Partial Least Squares) regression. Validation results of these NIRS equations showed very low bias (L: 0.005%, a: 0.003%, b: -0.013%) and standard error of prediction (SEP, L: 0.361%, a: 0.141%, b: 0.306%) as well as high coefficient of determination ($R^2$, L: 0.905, a: 0.986, b: 0.931). Therefore, these NIRS equations can be applicable and reliable for determination of color value (L, a, b) of green tea, and NIRS method could be used as a mass screening technique for breeding programs and quality control in the green tea industry.

  • Effects of cavity material on the Q-factor measurement of microwave dielectric materials were studied by HFSS simulation and the measurements using metal cavity. $TE_{01\delta}$ mode resonant frequency was determined from the electric and magnetic field patterns and the loaded Q-factor was calculated from 3dB bandwidth of $S_{21}$ spectrum. When the cavity metal materials were Cu, SUS and Au cavity, the level of Q-factor was similar. However, Q-factor was significantly decreased when the cavity metal material was CuO. The Q-factor measurements of dielectric resonator by network analyzer using various metal cavity exhibits consistent behavior.

  • 일반적인 다층 신경망에서 가중치의 갱신 알고리즘으로 사용하는 오류 역전과 방식은 가중치 갱신 결과를 고정된(fixed) 한 개의 값으로 결정한다. 이는 여러 갱신의 가능성을 오직 한 개의 값으로 고정하기 때문에 다양한 가능성들을 모두 수용하지 못하는 면이 있다. 하지만 모든 가능성을 확률적 분포로 표현하는 갱신 알고리즘을 도입하면 이런 문제는 해결된다. 이러한 알고리즘을 사용한 베이지안 신경망 모형(Bayesian Neural Networks Models)은 주어진 입력값(Input)에 대해 블랙 박스(Black-Box)와같은 신경망 구조의 각 층(Layer)을 거친 출력값(Out put)을 계산한다. 이 때 주어진 입력 데이터에 대한 결과의 예측값은 사후분포(posterior distribution)의 기댓값(mean)에 의해 계산할 수 있다. 주어진 사전분포(prior distribution)와 학습데이터에 의한 우도함수(likelihood functions)에 의해 계산한 사후확률의 함수는 매우 복잡한 구조를 가짐으로 기댓값의 적분계산에 대한 어려움이 발생한다. 따라서 수치해석적인 방법보다는 확률적 추정에 의한 근사 방법인 몬테 칼로 시뮬레이션을 이용할 수 있다. 이러한 방법으로서 Hybrid Monte Carlo 알고리즘은 좋은 결과를 제공하여준다(Neal 1996). 본 논문에서는 Hybrid Monte Carlo 알고리즘을 적용한 신경망이 기존의 CHAID, CART 그리고 QUEST와 같은 여러 가지 분류 알고리즘에 비해서 우수한 결과를 제공하는 것을 나타내고 있다.

  • $Fe_5Si_Xb_{5-x}$ (x=0, 1, 2, 3) powders were prepared by mechanical alloying, and their phases and magnetic properties were investigated by using XRD, TEM, Mossbauer spectroscopy and VSM. Starting elements are incorporated into $\alpha$-Fe in the early stage of mechanical alloying, and the stable phases are formed as the milling proceeds. After the annealing at 80$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours, it is found that the FeB and $Fe_2B$ phases coexist for the $Fe_5B_5$(x=0) composition. By substituting Si for B, the formation of $Fe_2B$ phase is restricted and the $Fe_5SiB_2$, $Fe_2Si_{0.4}B_{0.6}$ and paramagnetic phase begin to appear. The FeB phase has wide range of hyperfine magnetic field because it is not fully crystallized on the annealing at 800 $^{\circ}C$. On the contrary, others have good crystalline phases and show well-defined hyperfine magnetic field. Magnetic saturation is highest for the $Fe_5B_5$ composition where the amount of the $Fe_2B$ phase in large.

  • In this paper, I propose a video watermaking method using adaptive threshold value and half-cell motion vector. Conventional method cause a lot of change of motion vectors and bring about a falling-off in invisibility, because it search embedding condition about whole macroblocks and watermarks are embedded in arbitrary motion vectors. Proposed method improve invisibility and decrease in number of change of motion vectors, because it create threshold value by using power of motion vector(PMV), and watermarks are embedded in motion vectors which greater than threshold value. Consequently, proposed method improve invisibility with on an average 5.4 dB ~9.3dB according to video bit-stream.

  • 마젤란형태의 왜소불규칙은하인 NGC 1156은 일정한 별탄생율을 보이고 있고 B밴드에서는 마젤란은하보다 25%나 더 밝은 은하로서 불규칙은하로서는 상당히 밝은 편에 위치해 있는 것으로 나타난다. 그동안 이 은하까지의 거리는 Tully-Fisher 관계식을 이용하거나 그 은하 내에 존재하는 가장 밝은 별을 이용하여 구하였으나 이 두 방법에 의해 구한 값이 큰 차이를 보이고 있다. 우리는 NGC 1156의 HST ACS/HRC 측광자료와 TRGB(Tip magnitude of Red Giant Branch) 방법을 이용하여 이 은하의 거리지수 (m-M)o=$28.0\pm0.15$를 얻었고 (U-B, B-V) 색색도를 이용하여 성간소광값 E(B-V)=$0.35\pm0.05$을 얻었다. 이 거리지수를 적용하면 이 은하의 절대등급은 1mag 어두운 값을 보인다.

Quality Characteristics of Sausage Prepared with Mugwort Powder and Different Carcass Grade (돈육 도체등급 및 쑥 분말 첨가에 따라 제조된 소시지의 품질 특성)

  • This study was carried out to clarify the effect of addition of mugwort powder and carcass grade on the quality and palatability of pork sausage. Pork sausage was prepared by four type such as grade B pork sausage without mugwort(A), grade B pork sausage with mugwort(B), grade E pork sausage without mugwort(C) and grade E pork sausage with mugwort(D). The chemical composition, calorie, water holding capacity, pH, residual nitrite, surface color, textural properties, free amino acid and sensory characteristics were evaluated. Moisture and crude ash were not significantly different among sausage. Crude fat of grade B sausage was higher than that of grade E sausage, and crude protein of grade E sausage was higher than that of grade B sausage. The calorie, water holding capacity and pH were not significantly different among four types of sausage, and the residual nitrite of sausage with mugwort powder was significantly lower than that of sausage without mugwort powder. In case of Hunter's L$\^$*/ value, grade B sausage was higher than that of grade E sausage. In case of Hunter's a$\^$*/ value, grade E sausage was higher than that of grade B sausage, and Hunter's b$\^$*/ value was not significantly different among sausage types. Textural properties, hardness, cohesiveness and chewiness were not significantly different among sausage types, but springiness of grade B sausage was higher than that of grade E sausage. The gumminess of grade B sausage with mugwort powder was lowest among sausage types. Free amino acids of A, B, C and D sausage were 0.603, 0.515, 0.618 and 0.531%, respectively. Sensory color, juiciness and palatability were not significantly different among sausage types, but color, taste and texture of grade B sausage were superior to grade E sausage, and those of sausage without mugwort powder were superior to the sausage with mugwort powder.

Analysis of Jamming Interference Characteristics in Nonlinear DRT Satellite Transponder System (비선형 DRT 위성 중계시스템의 재밍 간섭 특성 분석)

  • For the DRT satellite transponder system, BER and total SNR to be required in the earth terminal are evaluated under the condition of HPA nonlinearity in the FBJ(full-band jamming) or PBJ(partial-band jamming) of uplink and downlink. In case that the satellite Inter bandwidth( Ws) is same to the earth terminal bandwidth($W_r$),in conditions of uplink JSR 10[dB], downlink JSR 10[dB] and processing gain 30[dB], linear transponder system shows that uplink SNR needs to be 14.2[dB] to achieve the total SNR 10[dB] requirement in downlink SNR 14[dB]. However, Nonlinear transponder system with OBO(output backoff) 2[dB] requires 20.1 [dB] uplink SNR. From the above results, the nonlinearity of HPA in the satellite transponder causes the degradation of BER performance so that it is of interest to consider the power increase.

  • Recently, multimedia DBMS is appeared to be the core technology of the information society to store, manage and retrieve multimedia data efficiently. In this paper, we propose a new method for content based-retrieval system using wavelet transform, energy value to extract automatically feature vector from image data, and suggest an effective retrieval technique through this method. Wavelet transform is widely used in image compression and digital signal analysis, and its coefficient values reflect image feature very well. The correlation in wavelet domain between query image data and the stored data in database is used to calculate similarity. In order to assess the image retrieval performance, a set of hundreds images are run. The method using standard derivation and mean value used for feature vector extraction are compared with that of our method based on energy value. For the simulation results, our energy value method was more effective than the one using standard derivation and mean value.

Physiological Activities of Citrus Peel Extracts by Different Extraction Methods and Gamma Irradiation (추출방법과 감마선 조사에 따른 귤피 추출물 생리활성의 변화)

  • Citrus peel extract was prepared using 70% ethanol solution by two extraction conditions (20$^{\circ}C$ for 72 hours and 85$^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours). The effect of gamma-irradiation on the changes of physiological activity also investigated at 0, 5, 10 and 20 kGy of absorbed doses. Color characteristics, DPPH radical scavenging, tyrosinase inhibition and nitrite scavenging activities of the extracts were measured at 41$^{\circ}C$ for 30 days. Color values were different by extraction methods at the initial stage, which heat-extracted sample had lower L$\^$*/ - but higher a$\^$*/ - and b$\^$*/ -values than those extracted at room temperature. Irradiation changed color of the extract lighter by increasing Hunter color L$\^$*/ - and a$\^$*/ -values. DPPH radical scavenging, tyrosinase inhibition and nitrite scavenging activities were not affected by either extraction methods or irradiation but significantly reduced by storage time. Therefore, when the cost-effective extraction methods is selected, the citrus peel extracts, which is a major byproduct in citrus processing, could be used as a functional material in various applications.
