필름 인서트 사출성형 공정의 오버랩 불량 개선을 위한 필름 고정 시스템 개발 (Development of Film Fixing System for Improving Overlap Defects in the Film Insert Injection Molding Process)

  • We carried out research into an environmentally friendly injection molding process that involves filling the mold with polymer after thin films are fixed into the cavity, without the coating, plating process. Film insert injection molding is a new technique in which molten plastic resin is injected into the cavity after films are precisely attached to the side of the mold wall. In the film insert injection molding process, the insert film is moved by the flow of the molten plastic resin. Overlap defects cause a decline in the productivity and the quality of the manufactured goods. To reduce overlap defects, new injection mold parts are proposed to produce automotive exterior parts using thin films. It is suggested that the best possible method would be to fix the thin films to one side of the mold wall, and develop interior pins to fix the films in the mold. Based on this new pin fixing system, the problem of the film being moved by the flow of the molten resin was improved.

유한요소법과 몬테카를로법을 이용한 X선 튜브에서 전자빔 충격에 의한 열 발생 해석 (Analysis of Heat Generation Induced by Electron Impact in X-Ray Tube Using FEM and Monte Carlo Method)

  • We analyze heat generation as well as temperature distribution induced by accelerated electron impact on a target in a closed x-ray tube. For the sake of accuracy, we use Monte carlo analysis. This method gives accurate energy deposit in a medium with additional information such as secondary and backscattered electron as well as their paths. A Tungsten coated layer is divided by small rectangular cell which accumulate energy loss of primary electron beam. The cells and their accumulated energy datum are used for the input of finite element analysis. The Maximum temperature rising and temperature distribution were analyzed by transient heat analysis. Some temperature parameters such as target size and coating thickness were varied to investigate temperature sensitivity. Temperatures were compared each other to find primary variable that affect temperature rising on the x-ray target. The results will be helpful in development highresolution x-ray tube and related industries.

  • Full-beads of multi-layer steel engine head gaskets that are used to seal the combustion gas between the head and the block are subject to cyclic bending stresses due to the variation of the head/block gap during engine operation. The S-N curve for the fatigue durability assessment of the full-bead formed on NBR-coated SUS301 thin plate is deduced from the axial fatigue test results because of the difficulty in conducting the bending fatigue test of thin plate. The experimental verification of the deduced S-N curve is presented. It is shown that the NBR coating increases the endurance limit of the plate significantly. Mechanism of crack nucleation and propagation in the full-bead is discussed with photographs of the fatigue cracks.

Urea-SCR 시스템에서의 Cu-ZSM5/알루미나 비드 촉매필터의 De-NOx 특성 (De-NOx Characteristics for Cu-ZSM5/Alumina Beads Catalyst Filter in Urea-SCR System)

  • The catalytic filter of Cu-ZSM5/alumina beads was considered to reduce NOx in the urea SCR system. Catalytic support of porous alumina beads with mean pore size $130{\mu}m$ and porosity $75{\sim}83%$ were prepared using foaming and gel-casting method. The Cu-ZSM5 catalysts were coated on the supporting alumina beads using $Cu(NO_3)_2$ by ion exchange method. After a washcoating process was applied to coat 10w% Cu-ZSM5 on porous alumina bead, coating layer was estimated $20{\mu}m$ in thickness. The characterization and the feasibility as a catalytic supports were investigated. And the NOx conversion test in Cu-ZSM5/Alumina Beads filter system was conducted by using Urea as reductants under laboratory test. The NOx conversion was increased as size and porosity of beads and observed more than 95% excellent NOx conversion above $300^{\circ}C$.

  • The fuel economy is a key issue for the automotive industry due to environmental concerns. In particular, only 5-20% of the energy generated in a car using an internal combustion engine is used as power, and the remaining energy is dissipated due to friction with other parts. The main components in the reciprocating piston type compressors commonly used in general vehicles include shafts, swash plates, pistons, and cylinders, and severe friction loss occurs due to the contact of these components. Generally, the wear contact is the maximum between the shaft and cylinder and between the piston and swash plate. The friction of these parts may cause quality problems and deteriorate the durability. In this study, to reduce the frictional loss, a prototype with additional coating agents was produced. Moreover, an optimized design was generated, and performance, noise, and durability tests were conducted. A more durable product was successfully obtained.

하이솔리드 아크릴/폴리이소시아네이트 도료의 제조와 도막 특성 (The Preparation and Characteristics of High Solids Acrylic/Polyisocyanate Coatings)

  • 본 연구는 고형분 70%인 하이솔리드 아크릴 수지 (BMHA)를 합성하여, 환경친화성 도료인 하이솔리드 아크릴/폴리이소시아네이트 도료(BNHS)에 적용하고 그의 도막특성을 살펴본 것에 그 의의가 있다. BMHA는 새로운 형의 단량체로서 acetoacetoxyethyl methacrylate (AAEM)을 도입하고 여기에 n-butyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate 및 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate를 4원공중합시켜 얻었다. BMHA 합성에 있어서 T$_{g}$ 값이 낮을수록, AAEM의 양이 많을수록 각각 높은 전환율을 나타내었고, T$_{g}$값 고정하의 OH 값 변화에 따른 전환율은 큰 차이가 없었다. BMHA와 폴리이소시아네이트를 상온경화시켜 하이솔리드 BNHS 도료를 제조하고서 자동차 상도용 도료로서의 적합성 여부를 알아보기 위하여 도막물성 시험을 한 결과, BNHS내에 AAEM 도입 전후의 도막물성 비교시험에서 AAEM 도입후에 내마모성과 내용제성이 향상됨으로써 자동차 상도용 도료로서의 응용가능성을 보여주었다.다.

폴리카보네이트 판 위에 졸-겔 과정을 이용한 하드 코팅 (Hard Coatings on Polycarbonate Plate by Sol-Gel Process)

  • 자동차의 유리를 폴리카보네이트로 대체하기 위하여 폴리카보네이트 판 위에 하드 코팅을 시도하였다. 본 연구에서는 tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), methyltriethoxysilane (MTES)으로부터 졸-겔 과정을 이용하여 코팅 막을 형성하였는데 이 때 가장 우수한 물성을 갖는 배합 조건을 찾아보았다. 폴리카보네이트 판의 전처리, TEOS와 MTES의 비율, 용매의 선택, aging 시간, 산 촉매의 양, 코팅의 횟수 등을 변화시켜가면서 형성된 코팅 막의 물성을 측정하였다. 측정 결과 폴리메칠메타크릴레이트를 이용한 전처리가 접착력 향상에 매우 효과적이었으며 이러한 졸-겔 과장으로부터 연필경도 2 H 정도의 아주 매끄러운 코팅 막이 형성되었다.

Spark Plasma Sintering and Ultra-Precision Machining Characteristics of SiC

  • The liquid-phase sintering method was used to prepare a glass lens forming core composed of SiC-$Al_2O_3-Y_2O_3$. Spark plasma sintering was used to obtain dense sintered bodies. The sintering characteristics of different SiC sources and compositions of additives were studied. Results revealed that, owing to its initial larger surface area, $\alpha$-SiC offers sinterability that is superior to that of $\beta$-SiC. A maximum density of $3.32\;g/cm^3$ (theoretical density [TD] of 99.7%) was obtained in $\alpha$-SiC-10 wt% ($6Al_2O_3-4Y_2O_3$) sintered at $1850^{\circ}C$ without high-energy ball milling. The maximum hardness and compression stress of the sintered body reached 2870 Hv and 1110 MPa, respectively. The optimum ultra-precision machining parameters were a grinding speed of 1243 m/min, work spindle rotation rate of 100 rpm, feed rate of 0.5 mm/min, and depth of cut of $0.2\;{\mu}m$. The surface roughnesses of the thus prepared final products were Ra = 4.3 nm and Rt = 55.3 nm for the aspheric lens forming core and Ra = 4.4 nm and Rt = 41.9 for the spherical lens forming core. These values were found to be sufficiently low, and the cores showed good compatibility between SiC and the diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating material. Thus, these glass lens forming cores have great potential for application in the lens industry.

실험계획법을 이용한 ALBC3에 대한 고속화염용사의 최적 공정 설계 (A Process Optimization of HVOF on ALBC3 by Experiments Design)

  • 선박의 프로펠러나 임펠러와 같은 유체기기에서는 캐비테이션 현상으로 인해 마모와 침식이 발생한다. 이와 같은 기기손상은 소음과 진동을 발생시켜 기기수명을 단축시키는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 캐비테이션 현상에 대한 저항성을 높이기 위해 산업 현장에서 많이 사용되고 있는 고속화염용사코팅의 공정 최적화에 따른 각 요소별 중요도를 분석하였다. 다구찌 실험계획법을 적용하여 ALBC3 모재 표면에 비정질 분말을 코팅하였고 기공도 실험을 통해 각 요소별 특성을 분석하였다. 다구찌 실험계획법에 의해 고속 화염용사(HVOF) 코팅의 최적 공정을 찾아낸 결과 연소압이 80 psi, 코팅거리가 270 mm, 이송속도가 200 mm/s, 분말속도는 25 g/min으로 확인되었고, 그 결과, 연소압, 코팅거리 및 분말속도는 25% 이상으로 비슷한 기여도를 나타냈고 이송속도는 19%로 다소 떨어지는 수준을 나타내었다. 공정에 대한 각 인자별 기여도는 약간의 차이는 있지만 그 차이가 크지 않으므로 네 개의 인자 모두 고속 화염용사(HVOF) 코팅 공정에서 중요한 기여를 하였다.

TWB 핫스탬핑 공법 적용을 통한 일체형 사이드아우터 부품 개발 (Development of Reinforcement Side Outer Using TWB Hot Stamping Process)

  • In the automotive industry, TWB hot stamping process is broadly adapted to reduce weight of the car and improve fuel efficiency. However, the process faces a problem of weakened strength of the welded zone after hot stamping process, due to the fact that Al-Si elements of the coating layer penetrating the welded zone. In this study, filler wires with high percentages of carbon and manganese is adapted during laser welding process to secure the strength of the fusion zone. In addition, wire feeding speed and laser welding speed are optimized by sample test.
