Implementation of an Automatic Control System for the Cultivation in a Greenhouse Using Fuzzy Expertized Control Algorithm (퍼지 전문가 제어 알고리즘을 이용한 시설 재배 자동 제어 시스템의 구현)

  • In cope with insufficient agricultural labor and requirement of high quality product Hydroponics is a really good method. It makes the high density agriculture possible and all the growing environments controllable. So its research is so much progressing to maximize the quantity and quality of farm products. Furthermore, the big progress, in the research of a future agriculture, is systematically conducted for the automatic controlled system. In this paper, a new approach to the automation of the cultivation in a green house is suggested and a practical automatic control cultivation system is implemented. To automatically control and optimize the very nonlinear and time-varying growth of farm products, a hybrid strategy(FECA; Fuzzy Expertized Control Algorithm) is proposed which serially combines a fuzzy expert system with the fuzzy logic control. The fuzzy expert system(FMES; Fuzzy Model-based Expert System) is intended to overcome the non-linearity of the growth of farm products. The part of fuzzy controller is incorporated to solve the time-variance of the growth of farm products. Finally, the efficiency and the effectiveness of the implemented agricultural automation system is presented through the cultiviation results.

  • In this paper, we proposed and implemented the automation of cable drum scheduling which is required a considerable construction cost for electrical equipment in power plant. Implemented cable drum scheduling can be reduced the calculation time of cable drum scheduling, and it is possible to minimize the consuming time of cable drum scheduling than conventional methods. Some experiments are conducted to verify the proposed method, and as a result, the automation of cable drum scheduling is well performed, enabling cables can be optimized and scheduled to fit the drum capacity with productivity enhancement of electrical installations.

  • Massive event stream brings us great challenges in its volume, velocity, variety, value and veracity. Picking up some valuable information from it often faces with long detection time, high memory consumption and low detection efficiency. Aiming to solve the problems above, an efficient complex event detection method based on NFA_HTS (Nondeterministic Finite Automaton_Hash Table Structure) is proposed in this paper. The achievement of this paper lies that we successfully use NFA_HTS to realize the detection of complex event from massive RFID event stream. Specially, in our scheme, after using NFA to capture the related RFID primitive events, we use HTS to store and process the large matched results, as a result, our scheme can effectively solve the problems above existed in current methods by reducing lots of search, storage and computation operations on the basis of taking advantage of the quick classification and storage technologies of hash table structure. The simulation results show that our proposed NFA_HTS scheme in this paper outperforms some general processing methods in reducing detection time, lowering memory consumption and improving event throughput.

  • Formwork accounts for 10% of the total construction cost and 30~40% of the framework cost, which is a fairly large part. Various system forms were developed for improved economic feasibility and constructability of formwork and for reduced construction duration. In general, the price of system forms per unit area is higher than that of the conventional method, yet the total construction cost can be reduced through higher reusability and constructability. However, if the reusability of forms is excessively increased to cut down the material cost, it may increase the construction duration, which will result in cost increase. On the other hand, if the reusability is decreased for reduction of construction duration, it may lead to cost increase caused by excessive input of materials. To solve such a problem, an algorithm for simplified reuse planning that meets the requirements of construction duration, cost, quality and safety is required. In this regard, the study intends to perform a fundamental research for development of reuse planning automation algorithms on system forms that are used on girders and beams.

A Review on ISO Standards Applicable for a Human Error Tolerant Control Center Design (제어실의 인적오류 예방에 적용 가능한 ISO 표준 검토)

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to review the ISO(the International Organization for Standardization) standards recommendations on a human error tolerant control room design. Background: ISO TC(Technical Committee) 159 published a variety of international standards on design of mental and physical work, design of displays and controls, and workstation layout design. A proper edition of these standards can be a good resource for a human error tolerant control center design guidelines. Method: Recommendations of ISO TC 159 standards were grouped into arrangement of control suite, layout of control room, layout and dimensions of workstations, design of displays and controls, environmental design, alarm, automation, management system design, procedure and training. Results: It was found that some standards on the design of supervisory control and data acquisition(SCADA), alarm, automation, layout, workload management, and environment can be used for human error prevention guidelines in the control center design. Conclusion: ISO TC 159 standards were not sufficient to cover all the ergonomics area of control center design. Application: Designers can have technical aids from these ISO standards to improve ergonomic performance of their control center.

Design optimization of vibration isolation system through minimization of vibration power flow

  • A vibration power minimization model is developed, based on the mobility matrix method, for a vibration isolation system consisting of a vibrating source placed on an elastic support structure through multiple resilient mounts. This model is applied to investigate the design optimization of an X-Y motion stage-based vibration isolation system used in semiconductor wire-bonding equipment. By varying the stiffness coefficients of the resilient mounts while constraining the dynamic displacement amplitudes of the X-Y motion stage, the total power flow from the X-Y motion stage (the vibrating source) to the equipment table (the elastic support structure) is minimized at each frequency interval in the concerned frequency range for different stiffnesses of the equipment table. The results show that when the equipment table is relatively flexible, the optimal design based on the proposed vibration power inimization model gives significantly little power flow than that obtained using a conventional vibration force minimization model at some critical frequencies. When the equipment table is rigid enough, both models provide almost the same predictions on the total power flow.

  • A small, highly-trained crew working on the ship's automation has contributed to the improvement of operations and the labor environment on board ship. However, at the same time, having a small crew adds more responsibility to the ship's officers to safely operate and manage the ship. With the use of information and computer technology, efforts are being made towards the development of a system that will concentrate important information from the various pieces of navigational equipment. The purpose of this study is to set up and implement an integrated marine data networking and communication system on the training-research ship. Information relating to navigation, engine and office automation are investigated and analyzed, and implementation methods associated with navigation, engine and management information system were designed and presented. In addition, the networking system of the navigational signal interface unit for the integrated communication system, and the data communication method between the ship and land are also discussed.

  • According to the realization of highly information dependent society, the recent building system is developed into the concept of suitable for management of intellegent work, which is demanded to unify of IBS(Intelligent Building System), IC(information communication), OA(office automation), BA(building automation) system and computer technology. However inspite of the presence arrester, cable shielding, insulated TR, filter, earth etc., in the IBS building for the cope with several surge and noise has several problems from the wrong operation of the equipment which caused from several surge, damage of equipment, and noise etc. And the miss operation caused by wrong earth works, which must be considered at first during the building construction. In order to minimize these problems, it's necessary that various earth project are performed effectively, and bonding methods between the mutual wiring of earth system and the equipments in the building should be improved sucessively. So in this paper, we analyze present domestic conditions of the earth technology in IBS building, and propose minimization method for the various surge and noise problem, and examine and analyze through the applied works.

  • The machine vision has been applied to a number of industrial applications for quality control and automations to improve the manufacturing processes. In this paper, the automation system using the machine vision is developed, which is applicable to the marking process in a steel production process line. The working environment is very harsh to workers so that the automatic system in the steel industry is required increasingly. The developed automatic marking system consists of several mechanical and electrical elements such as the laser position detecting sensor system fur a structured laser beam which is projected to the billet in order to detect the geometry of the billet. An image processing algorithm has been developed to percept the two center positions of a camera and a billet, respectively, and to align two centers. A series of experiments has been conducted to investigate the performance of the proposed algorithm. The results show that two centers of the camera and the billet could be detected very well and differences between two center positions could be also decreased via the proposed location error decreasing algorithm.
