In this paper, we propose the method of iris lacuna extraction using watershed transform. Lacuna is salient feature of iris. It has three dimensional structure formed by leak of pigmentation and loss of fiber tissues. Lacuna can be used for iris recognition system, and generally used in health diagnosis and character analysis with its shape and position. The main idea of the proposed method is applying the watershed transform to radial gray scale profile of iris image. The result shows that the lacuna can be extracted automatically from eye image.

The paper introduces a novel system of two hands real-time tracking based on the unrestricted hand skin segmentation by multi color systems. After corer-based segmentation and pre-processing operation, a label set of regions is created to locate the two hands automatically. By the normalization, template matching is used to find out the left or right hand. An improved fast self-adaptive tracking algorithm is applied and Canny filter is used for hand detection.

As billion transistors system-on-chip (SoC) design becomes a reality, the productivity gap between rapidly increasing design complexity and designer productivity lagging behind is becoming a more serious problem to be solved. To reduce the gap, we present a system that generates executable transaction level models automatically. It speed up the SoC design space exploration process at various abstraction levels.

This paper describes "the remote automatic diagnosis and repair system which automatically reads the problems such as "out of order" occurred on equipment at customer's equipment from a remote computer center using HTTP(hyper text transfer protocol). It shows the scheme of the network configurations and features of the system. In addition, a way to implement the overall system, the specific functions of unit, and the operational specifications between the center's computer and customer's computer are also presented.also presented.

This paper suggests a control method for efficient topology/parameter evolution in a bond-graph-based GP design framework that automatically synthesizes designs for multi-domain, lumped parameter dynamic systems, We adopt a hierarchical breeding control mechanism with fitness-level-dependent differences to obtain better balancing of topology/parameter search - biased toward topological changes at low fitness levels, and toward parameter changes at high fitness levels. As a testbed for this approach, an eigenvalue assignment problem, which is to find bond graph models exhibiting minimal distance errors from target sets of eigenvalues, was tested and showed improved performance for various sets of eigenvalues.

The present study is undertaken to utilize the computer in pattern making of Jeugo-ris for women. The results are as follow: 1. Basic points which can be connected to depict basic pattern are represented with the numerical expreession and the curved lines consist of three types of arc. 2. The patterns of Jeugo-ris were automatically depicted by inputting the standard size(large, medium and small) and body measurements for bodice(bust girth, center back length, sleeve length). 3. This program includes the function of expressing the specific parts of patterns and of extending the patterns with or without standard lines.

In this paper a new fuzzy clustering approach to the color clustering problem has been proposed. To deal with the limitations of the traditional FCM algorithm, we propose a spatial homogeneity-based FCM algorithm. Moreover, the cluster validity index is employed to automatically determine the number of clusters for a given image. We refer to this method as VS-FCM algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through various clustering examples.

This paper is to design an autobalancing system based-on microprocessor for hemodiafiltration (HDF) system. The proposed system consist of motor control part, thermostatic control part, alarm system and electronic scale which ar automatically controlled by microprocessor. Conventional hemodialysis system can not remove medium molecular articles but hemodialysis system with the proposed system can remove and infuse substitute to the patient. This system can be easily interfaced with any other conventional HD system. The results obtained from performance evaluation of the proposed system are suitable for clinical supporting system.

This paper presents the self-commissioning for surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor. The proposed strategy executes three tests with a vector controlled inverter drive system. To do this, synchronous d-q axes currents are appropriately controlled for each test. From the three tests, armature resistance, armature inductance, equivalent iron loss resistance, and emf coefficient are identified automatically. The validity of the proposed strategy is confirmed by experimental results.

This paper introduces an improved pulse generator using power semiconductors and L-C circuit. The proposed circuit consists of the series connected boost converter structure. In the presented circuits, high voltage pulse is generated by series-connection of capacitors and IGBTs. The charging of capacitors and voltage balance of IGBTs are obtained automatically. To verify the proposed circuit, 1.8㎸, 40A pulse generator is manufactured and tested.
