ALT기법을 이용한 ITO 코팅유리의 결함 검출 기법 개발 (Development of Scratch Detecting Algorithm for ITO Coated Glass using Adaptive Logical Thresholding Method)

  • This research describes a image-processing technique for the scratch detecting algorithm for ITO coated glass. We use the modified logical thresholding method (called adaptive logical thresholding method) for binarization of gray-scale glass image. This method is useful to the algorithm for detecting the scratch of ITO coated glass automatically without need of any prior information of manual fine-tuning of parameters.

  • Structural analysis of die set in cold forging is conducted by the finite element method and the results are introduced in this paper. The problem formulation is introduced in detail. In the approach, amount of shrink fit is controlled by thermal load, i.e., temperature difference between die insert and shrink fits. The loading conditions are extracted automatically from a forging simulator. An application example is given.

  • The measurement of 3D surface strain using the image processing method is another approach for strain measurement. The advantage of this method is that strains at several points included in a captured image can be obtained automatically from only one process. In this study, the whole process of automated surface strain measurement is presented. The strain distribution on a LDH specimen is illustrated as a result of the trial to develope an automated strain measurement system.

  • In this study, a computer program was developed which generates automatically a drawing of the forging design in axisymmetric hot-forging of steel. The program designs a forging envelope from a machined part geometry according to forging design rules: parting line, draft angles, fillet and corner radii, minimum web and rib thicknesses. For the purpose of verification, the program was applied to a machined part from a factory. It was found that the generate forging design agreed well with the actual one used in the factory.

  • To understand runoff Phenomena in Jeju island, some streams are monitored automatically about stream stage, and water quality in Jeju Provincial Water Resources Management Office. Rating curves for stream discharge are reviewed. Stream stages respond very quick to some rainfall events, and parameters influencing runoff phenomena such as landuse, soil condition, preconditoned rainfall, and vegetables will be studied. A few thousand to ten thousand ml/day are estimated from 6 permanent streams in Jeju island.

Real-time Auto Tracking System using PTZ Camera with DSP

  • In this paper we proposed a PTZ camera system which automatically detect and track moving objects in the image. Once a moving object is detected the PTZ camera traces it in real-time. We proposed the control system which does not depend on camera focusing functionality but uses the object's center, moving direction, distance and speed. We implemented the system with the TI DM6446 DSP chip. The experimental result shows that the system has excellent performance for high speed vehicles.

  • In this paper, it is shown that the conventional methods for dealing with the singularity problem of a manipulator can be generalized as a local minimization problem with differently weighted objective functions. A new damping method proposed in this article automatically determines the damping amounts for singular values, which are inversely proportional to the magnitude of the singular values. Furthermore, this can be done without explicitly computing the singular values. The proposed method can be applied to all the manipulators with revolute joints.

  • In this paper we propose the force controller using a neural network for a redundant manipulator. Jacobian transpose matrix of a redundant manipulator constructed by a neural network is trained by using a feedback torque as an error signal. If the neural network is sufficiently trained well, the kinematic inaccuracy of a manipulator is automatically compensated. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is demonstrated by computer simulation using a three-link planar robot.

  • This paper presents a case-building algorithm which can control the design variables of which some variables are designated as the input (known) variables and the remainders are defined as the output (unknown) variables. The case-building algorithm can enhance the design ability by categorizing design case automatically. Common CAD programs for analysis and design of machine elements use a case-selection technique where a programmer set initially a few of design cases and users can only choose one of given cases. This paper also demonstrates the case-building algorithm by applying into CAD programs for power-screw design.

  • The problem of finding an admissible object trajectory for a cooperating two-robot system is investigated. The method is based on reformulating the problem as a nonlinear optimization problem with equality constraints in terms of the joint variables. The optimization problem is then solved numerically on a computer. The solution automatically gives the corresponding joint variable trajectories as well, thus eliminating the need for solving the inverse kinematic problem. The performance indices are chose in joint and cartesian spaces and computer simulations are performed.
