  • Among the technologies of the 4th industrial revolution, drones that have grown rapidly and are being used in various industries can be operated by the pilot directly or can be operated automatically through programming. In order to be controlled by a pilot or to operate automatically, it is essential to predict and analyze the optimal path for the drone to move without obstacles. In this paper, after securing and analyzing the pilot training dataset through the unmanned aerial vehicle piloting training platform designed through prior research, the profile of the dataset that should be preceded to search and derive the optimal route of the unmanned aerial vehicle was designed. The drone pilot training data includes the speed, movement distance, and angle of the drone, and the data set is visualized to unify the properties showing the same pattern into one and preprocess the properties showing the outliers. It is expected that the proposed big data-based profile can be used to predict and analyze the optimal movement path of an unmanned aerial vehicle.

Development of a Customized Helmet Design System for Patients with Plagiocephaly (사두증 환자를 위한 맞춤형 헬멧 몰드 디자인 시스템 개발)

  • This study developed a three-dimensional helmet mold design software that can design helmets for treating the infant plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome) using three-dimensional head scan data. For this, the three-dimensional head data of sixth SizeKorea body measurement project as well as the data produced by a head modeling software were used to prepare the head shape data of plagiocephaly patients. A total of 14 landmarks and 10 dimensions of heads required for helmet mold shape design and plagiocephaly diagnosis were automatically measured using an anthropometric analysis software. Using the software developed in this study, plagiocephaly can be diagnosed not only visually by three-dimensional head data visualization but also quantitatively by calculating the medically defined indices such as cranial index, which measures the proportions of the head, and the cranial vault asymmetry index, which measures the asymmetry of the head. The basic shape of the helmet mold was automatically generated based on the head scan data. Additionally, it is possible to fine tune the shape of the mold to reflect individual characteristics by using a free form deformation technique. Finally, the designed helmet mold was converted into the data that can be printed on a three-dimensional printer for generating the actual prototype.

SPA ViewModel Transformation for RESTful API (RESTful API를 위한 SPA ViewModel 변환)

  • Single-Page Application(SPA) requires data transformation for communication with RESTful API. The Backend for Frontend(BFF) pattern handles this transformation in the server, but there is some problem that increases the number of communication and makes development and distribution difficult. In this study, we propose an architecture that maps the ViewModel of SPA and the model of RESTful API directly in SPA. The proposed architecture automatically generates a mapping model between the RESTful API model and the ViewModel using the OpenAPI specification, which is the document model of the RESTful API. The data transfer component of SPA automatically converts RESTful API data and ViewModel using the created model. As a result of comparison with the existing BFF method through case study, the proposed architecture showed higher development productivity than BFF, and as a result of load tests, it recorded about 6% lower server CPU occupancy compared to BFF.

Implementation of monitoring system for availability of Hyperledger Indy (Hyperledger Indy의 가용성을 위한 모니터링 시스템 구현)

  • Hyperledger Indy is an open-source implementation of DID, a decentralized identity verification technology. Hyperledger Indy uses the RBFT consensus algorithm, and if there is a lack of consensus with more than a certain number of problem nodes in the pool, data is not added. This problem can be prevented in advance by adding a node, and a node monitoring system was implemented to operate automatically. The node monitoring system continuously checks the status of the pool and automatically adds nodes when there are more than a certain number of problematic nodes to prevent consensus problems from occurring. This proposed method can increase the availability of Hyperledger Indy and is a study that can be referenced in various blockchain services that use consensus algorithms.

  • The more repetitive, complex and objective the work, the more effective automation is. Code checking is an example of this. Checking building codes through a thick set of drawings is error-prone and time-consuming. In order to overcome this problem, several organizations have initiated efforts to automate building-code checking. Initiated study mainly focused on checking codes for invalidation, required size and crash, and then area of checkable codes have been expanding. But, it has not been considered for codes regarding anti-disaster/egress, which is also issued these days. This study is about how to automatically check codes for anti-disaster and egress based on Korea building codes. The codes can be categorized as five sections: egress way, material/capability, principals of evacuation, evacuation stairway and fire protection partition. To check automatically, there are problems, such as expression of codes for egress and limitation of extractable information from the BIM model. This paper shows what problems exist and assignments to be resolved. Also, current developing processes are presented, and suggestions are made about the direction for the work that remains.

  • Increase in the number of sensor nodes in sensor networks and sensor node to automatically assign addresses are needed. The method developed to address existing severe wasting, coordinators have all address information, each sensor node when addressing the shortcomings are a lot of traffic. In this paper, 6LoWPAN automatically from the sensor nodes capable of efficiently addressing Hop-Count based hierarchical address allocation algorithm is proposed. How to propose a hop-count of divided areas are separated, with no overlap and can be assigned a unique address, DAD(Duplicate Address Detection) reduced area. Perform DAD to reduce traffic, packet transmission in the IP header destination address, respectively, with a minimum 32-bit compression and packet transmission over a non-compression method to reduce the number of 11.1%.

  • In the pipeline for supplying purified water to each household, measurements such as flow meters and pressure meters are installed at important points to monitor in real time. The measured data acquired to the central control room through wireless or wired communication, but data may not be acquired due to intermittent communication failures. Since then, even if the communication network is restored, data during the failure period is not stored on the site, or even if it is stored, data cannot be automatically stored in the database. Low cost with universally installed in the field in order to address these data logging by developing a module is compatible with PLC, automatically would like to make sure that we can recover in the database.

Music classification system through emotion recognition based on regression model of music signal and electroencephalogram features (음악신호와 뇌파 특징의 회귀 모델 기반 감정 인식을 통한 음악 분류 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose a music classification system according to user emotions using Electroencephalogram (EEG) features that appear when listening to music. In the proposed system, the relationship between the emotional EEG features extracted from EEG signals and the auditory features extracted from music signals is learned through a deep regression neural network. The proposed system based on the regression model automatically generates EEG features mapped to the auditory characteristics of the input music, and automatically classifies music by applying these features to an attention-based deep neural network. The experimental results suggest the music classification accuracy of the proposed automatic music classification framework.

  • This paper presents an investigation of variables that cause spurious cracking in numerical modeling of concrete fracture. Spurious cracks appear due to the approximate nature of numerical modeling. They overestimate the dissipated energy, leading to divergent results with mesh refinement. This paper is limited to quasi-static loading regime, homogeneous models, cracking as the only nonlinear mode of deformation and cracking only due to tensile loading. Under these conditions, some variables that can be related to spurious cracking are: mesh alignment, ductility, crack band width, structure size, mesh refinement and load increment size. Case studies illustrate the effect of each variable and convergence analyses demonstrate that, after all, load-increment size is the most important variable. Theoretically, a sufficiently small load increment is able to eliminate or at least alleviate the detrimental influence of the other variables. Such load-increment size might be prohibitively small, rendering the simulation unfeasible. Hence, this paper proposes two alternatives. First, it is proposed an algorithm that automatically find such small load increment size automatically, which not necessarily avoid large computations. Then, it is proposed a double simulation technique, in which the crack is forced to propagate through the localization zone.

Updating BIM: Reflecting Thermographic Sensing in BIM-based Building Energy Analysis

  • This paper presents an automated computer vision-based system to update BIM data by leveraging multi-modal visual data collected from existing buildings under inspection. Currently, visual inspections are conducted for building envelopes or mechanical systems, and auditors analyze energy-related contextual information to examine if their performance is maintained as expected by the design. By translating 3D surface thermal profiles into energy performance metrics such as actual R-values at point-level and by mapping such properties to the associated BIM elements using XML Document Object Model (DOM), the proposed method shortens the energy performance modeling gap between the architectural information in the as-designed BIM and the as-is building condition, which improve the reliability of building energy analysis. The experimental results on existing buildings show that (1) the point-level thermography-based thermal resistance measurement can be automatically matched with the associated BIM elements; and (2) their corresponding thermal properties are automatically updated in gbXML schema. This paper provides practitioners with insight to uncover the fundamentals of how multi-modal visual data can be used to improve the accuracy of building energy modeling for retrofit analysis. Open research challenges and lessons learned from real-world case studies are discussed in detail.
