Dynamic Analysis of Driving Mechanism for ALTS with High-Speed Transfer Characteristics (고속 전환특성을 가진 자동부하전환 개폐기의 구동메커니즘의 동적 해석)

  • The automatic load transfer switch (ALTS) typically automatically transfers electrical loads from a normal electrical power source to an emergency electrical power source upon reduction or loss of normal power source voltage. It can also automatically re-transfer the load to the normal power source when the normal voltage has been restored within acceptable limits. The transfer operation of ALTS is accomplished by a spring-driven linkage mechanism. In this paper we build a dynamic model of driving mechanism for ALTS using ADAMS and checked the characteristics of the transfer operation. Finally we performed a detailed design of the driving mechanism through results of analysis and confirmed it to satisfy design requirements.

  • A network topology has been an important factor for an efficient network management, but data collection for the network configuration has been done manually or semi automatically by a network administrator or an expert. Requirements to generate an intro-domain network topology ar usually either all IP addresses with subne $t^ernet mask or the network identification of all IP addresses. The amounts of traffic are generally high in the semi-automatic system due to using large number of low-level protocols and commands to get rather simple data. In this paper, we propose an algorithm which can be executed with only publicly available input. It can find all IP addresses as well as the network boundary of an intra-domain by using an intelligent method developed in this algorithm. The collected data will be used to draw a network map automatically by using a proposed network topology generation algorithm.hm.

  • Recently SMT is used widely to place the SMD on bare board which is very small and highly integrated. And that is one of the issue directly in the electric products assembly process and especiallly in the field of optimizing electric product's performance, automatically tuning method which is highly demanded in the electronics industry. To tune product's performance, variable resistances's resistivity should be changed until it has good performance characteristics. In this paper to automatically regulate the 8mm camcoder's performance, it is proposed variable resistence's center position and orientation detection algorithm by image processing, which has very precise and accurate result. And we found optimal conditions which can have effects on image acquisition process. And real time processing is done by DSP to detect vr's center and orientation. This results make it possible to utilize proposed image processing algorithm and system directly in electronics industry.

  • Controller refinement scheme to improve the performance of a conventional system automatically in frequency domain is proposed. The controller automatic tuning method features using experimental frequency responses of the conventional closed-loop system the conventional controller, and the improved closed-loop system, instead of poorly modeled plant due to non-linearities and disturbances. The improved closed-loop system characteristics is automatically acquired by the conventional closed-loop system characteristics and the proposed performance index in system bandwidth. And the proper controller is realized by least squares approximation in frequency domain. To testify the usefulness of the approach, the path tracking control of robot arm is performed. Experimental results and analytic results are well-matched.

  • Computer testing system for pumps is an automatic measuring and testing system micro computer. There are two functions to this system. 1. Automatically controlling the testing processes. It includes controlling to testing devices, adjusting test points and starting or stopping the pump. 2. Automatically collecting and calculating the testing data. It includes the collection and calculation of the parameters to be measured, printing the testing reports and plotting the testing curves. When using it the measuring accuracy may be improved and the time for testing may be compressed by use the system . So it is used widely on the world. In this paper the basic construction and the work principle and the testing processes are described.

  • Automatic detection of estrus in cows is important in cattle management. This paper proposes a method of estrus detection by automatically checking cattle mounting. We use a side-view video camera and apply computer vision techniques to detect mounting behavior. In particular, we extract motion information to select a potential mount-up and mount-down motion and then verify the true mounting behavior by considering the direction, magnitude, and history of the mount motion. From experimental results using video data obtained from a Korean native cattle farm, we believe that the proposed method based on the abrupt change of a mounting cow's height and motion history information can be utilized for detecting mounting behavior automatically, even in the case of fence occlusion.

  • The passive filter is economic and efficient in suppressing harmonics but it may cause resonance problems and its performance is constantly dependent on power system impedance or working conditions of loads. This paper presents the DSP (Digital Signal Processor)-based control system, which automatically controls the passive filter in order to solve these problems. The control system can automatically control the passive filter according to working conditions of loads and measured harmonics, reactive power, power factor and so on. Experimental results in the power system using the 100HP DC motor drive are presented in order to verify the performance of the control system.

  • An optimal tuning algorithm of scaling factors is presented in this paper to automatically improve the performance of fuzzy controller. Especially, fuzzy controller has determined an moderate Scaling factor through trial and error. The presented method estimates automatically the optimal values of I/O scaling factors, using modified steepest descent method and this optimal tuning is for nonlinear input/output scaling factors. Simulation results verify the validity of the presented method.

  • Bevel gears are suitable for transmitting power between shafts at practically any angle or speed. However, the particular type of gear best suited for a specific application is depends upon the mountings, available space, and operating conditions. Therefore it is important in any general design imploying gears to first make a study of all the conditions under which the gear must operate. Presented in this paper is a S/W calculating design parameters automatically for bevel gears. This S/W provides the Standards for the design of straight bevel, zerol bevel, spiral bevel and hypoid gears. Topics include preliminary design parameters, blank design including standard taper, uniform depth, duplex taper and tilted root so that Gleason, Klingelnberg and Oerlikon machine tools are covered.

  • The post-processing modules are parts of an integrated system for reinforced concrete structures. This modules are composed of two modules: member design module and calculation report module. The purpose of this paper is to develope modules that increase efficiency and usefulness of an integrated system used reinforced concrete structures design. The development of post-processing modules is necessary for user to design reinforced concrete structures conveniently and quickly. This modules are connected with central database for the benefit of storing amount of input/output data and being used system with little effort. Post-processing modules used Object-Oriented concepts and techniques include identity, classification, polymorphism, and inheritance. Member design module automatically converts no good members into satisfied members by changing section size or reinforcement bar arrangement. This module can be operated both independent member design modules with user input and a part of integrated system with database input. If user operates member design module, calculation report module is created automatically.
