  • 컴퓨터의 사용인구가 많아지고, 인터넷의 보급이 급속히 늘어남에 따라 많은 정보가 생산되고 있다. 그리고 이러한 정보를 사용자에게 좀더 효율적인 방법으로 제공하는 서비스들도 많아지게 되었다. 그러나 컴퓨터에 익숙하지 않은 사용자들은 쉽게 이러한 서비스를 이용하지 못하기 때문에 사용자를 돕는 시스템이 필요하다. 인터넷 서비스제공 업체들은 사용자의 질문에 대해 관리자가 직접 답을 해주는데, 이들 시스템을 이용하는 사용자들의 증가로 질의응답 업무의 양이 커지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 해결하기 위해 사용자의 질의를 자동으로 분류하여 응답하고 사용자가 FAQ를 개념적으로 브라우징 할 수 있는 시스템의 유용성을 입증하기 위하여, 그 적용 가능성과 일반 사용자들의 이용 결과를 통계적으로 분석하였다.

  • Many kinds of microcontrollers such as 8051, PIC16 and Atmega series are used for the automatic control system, home appliances and communication equipments manufacturing. It is very important to understand the basic operational principles of microcontrollers and their design concepts. There are many kinds of educational microcontroller trainers and also they are designed and assembled very complicatedly. For the students or developers, it is very difficult to catch the basic operation schemes and apply the techniques to the control system. And also it requires much cost and time for the various kinds of trainers purchasing. In this paper, standardization of pins layout and peripheral modules for the general microcontroller usage was introduced and tested with 89C2051, 89C51, PIC16F84, PIC16F877, Atmega8535 and Atmega128, etc. As a result of test, it was found that saving the cost and time using this suggested device was possible. And also it was very effective way to understand microcontroller design and programming techniques.

  • 현재 한국전기연구원에는 국내 외 보호계전기의 사용전 검사시험이 년간 약 6,000여대 이상 의뢰되고, 이를 처리하기 위한 특성시험에만 약 3,000 시간 이상이 소요된다. 이와 같은 시험 수요량을 처리하기 위해서는 보호계전기가 가진 각 보호 요소의 특성 시험에 필요한 일련의 과정을 자동으로 수행하고 그 결과를 저장하여 시험을 신속하게 처리하고, 시험자의 시험 설비 조작 또는 결선의 실수로 인한 영향을 최소로 하여 정확한 시험결과를 도출할 수 있는 보호계전기 특성 자동 시험 시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 보호계전기 보호 요소의 특성 시험시 필요한 시험 장비를 시스템으로 구성하고 이들을 제어하고 결과를 저장, 출력이 가능한 소프트웨어를 개발하고자 한다.

  • AEC was designed to assist in the production of radiographs of equal density and to aid in the production f consistently high quality radiographs. Many improvements have been made in the AEC and these have helped to increase it's acceptance. Newer system (Falling load) control kVp and mA as well as exposure time. Authors have had experiments about the characteristics of AEC by Zone System. Zone System is the method to detection of photographic image qualify by control the photo print from Fred Archer and Ansel Adams. With the Zone System theory the experiments of density control, characteristics of phantom thickness and reproducibility of occupation rate of contrast media could make quality control of X-ray photography effectively in falling load system.

  • The microstructural change associated with the hardness profile in friction stir welded, age-hardenable 6005 Al alloy had been evaluated. Frictional heat and plastic flow during friction stir welding created the fine recrystallized grain (Stir Zone, SZ), the elongated and recovered grain (Thermo-Mechanical Affected Zone, TMAZ) in the weld zone. Heat affected zone (HAZ), which could be only identified by hardness test because there is no difference in the grain structure compared with that of the base metal, was formed beside the weld zone. A softened region had been formed near the weld zone during friction stir welding process. The softened region was characterized by the dissolution and coarsening of the strengthening precipitate during the friction stir welding. The sound joints of 6005 Al alloys were successfully formed under a wide range of the friction stir welding conditions.

On the Control of Re-Structured Electric Power Systems

  • The paper describes some of the challenges that face the control of nonlinear interconnected power systems. The challenges include the selection of appropriate control and information structures that could range from a completely decentralized to a fully centralized structure. Once a structure is proven to be feasible, the effectiveness of control signals needs to be assessed. Analytical tools are derived for this purpose in the first part of the paper, and they are illustrated with a case study that involves the design of a damping decentralized controller using a Thyristor Controlled Series Compensation device. The second part of the paper deals with the load following and tracking problem through automatic generation control for a system that has been re-structured or deregulated. This problem can be solved using a completely decentralized scheme. It is solved here using fuzzy rules and with an emphasis on compliance with NERC's standards and reduction of wear and tear of the equipment. It is illustrated with a test system that has three interconnected control areas. Finally, comments on the economics of control and the author's vision are presented.

  • This paper proposes a new width control system composed of an ANWC(Automatic Neural network based Width Control) and a fuzzy-PID controller in hot strip finishing mills which aims at obtaining the desirable width. The ANWC is designed using a neural network based width prediction model to minimize a width variation between the measured width and its target value. Input variables for the neural network model are chosen by using the hypothesis testing. The fuzzy-PlD control system is also designed to obtain the fast looper response and the high width control precision in the finishing mill. It is shown through the field test of the Pohang no. 1 hot strip mill of POSCO that the performance of the width margin is considerably improved by the proposed control schemes.

  • A speaker identification scheme using the speaker-based VQ codecook of a sustained vowel is proposed and tested. With the pitch synchronous LPC vector of the sustained vowel /i/ as a feature vector, a VQ codebook size of 4 was found to be suitable to characterize each speaker's feature space. For 40 normal speakers (20 males, 20 females), we achieved the correct identification rate of 99.4% with a training data set, and 89.4% with a test data set with speech samples of only 50 pitch periods.

  • The pre-mixed concrete shotcrete, which can pre-bag the shotcrete materials and thus can save considerable labor activity, will be developed through extensive experiments. The proposed pre-mixed High performance Shooting concrete system included hydro-demolition will be verified though field tests in actual repair and rehabilitation construction sites. This research was on developing of the High performance Shooting concrete by evaluation of site application by field test using new automatic Hydro-demolition and Shotcrete equipment.

A rotational decision-directed AFC algorithm for QPSK demodulation (회전결정경계를 이용한 QPSK 복조용 자동주파수 제어 알고리즘)

  • In order to prevent the presence of the residual phase difference at the discriminator output by the existing AFC techniques, we propose a new automatic frequency control(AFC) tracking algorithm for QPSK demodulation at the digital direct broadcasting satellite(DBS) receiver, which we call a rotational decision-directed AFC(RDDAFC). The RDDAFC rotates the decision boundary for the kth received symbol by the frequency deterctor output of the (k-1)th received symbol. Tracking performances of carrier frequency offset by the proposed RDDAFC algorithm are evaluated through computer simulations under the practical DBS channel conditions with a carrier frequency offset of 2.3MHz when S/N equals 2dB. Test results show that the total pull-in time of the RDDAFC is 1.697msec for 10$^{-3}$ SER before forwared error correction at the receiver.
