A Study on the Lung Nodule Detection in Digital Radiographic Images (디지탈 래디오 그래피 영상에서의 흉부 노듈 검출에 관한 연구)

  • An automatic lung nodule detection algorithm was applied for digital radiographic images using Bit Slice Processor. In this algorithm, signal enhancing filtering and signal suppressing filtering were performed on the given digital chest image, respectively. Then we grit the dirt- frrence image from these filtered images, and hi-level island images were obtained by applying various threshold values. From the island images, we decided the suspicious nodules using size and circularity test, and marked them to alert radiologists. The performance of the atgorithm was analyzed with respect to the size, contrast and position of digitally synthesized nodules. This method presented 45.8% of true positive ratio for the nodules of lOw in diameter with 12-16 pixel value differnces.

  • The present study has two main objectives. The first objective is to devise a new term weighting technique which can be used to weight the significance value of each word stem in a test collection of documents on the subject of "enteral hyperalimentation." The next objective is to evaluate retrieval performance of proposed term weighting technique, together with four other term weighting techniques, by conducting a set of experiments. The experimental results have shown that the performance of Sparck Jones's inverse document frequency weighting and the proposed term significance weighting techniques produced better recall and precision ratios than the other three complex weighting techniques.

  • In this paper, we propose an agent negotiation algorithm of an intelligent agent system for an active and adaptive multimedia data services in the distributed environment. We describe theEARTS-II system that performs automatic job seeking and job offering operations using intelligentagents without user's intervention. EARTS-II offers best candidate lists as the results to usersthrough negotiation among agents considering conditions given by the users. And according to theresults, the EARTS-II supports real processes of employment, The negotiation algorithm tries tosatisfy all agents in the job market. To test the performance of the algorithm, simulation results arepresented.

  • Recently Domestic EMU's on board signal systems are gradually changed form Cab signal(Fix Block) to Distance-to-go. Interfaces with on board signal system, TCMS Redundancy structure is mainly required. This paper suggest Manaul/Automatic Driving based on TCMS-ATC interface and design of backup system which is operated by Stan-by Computer when one of it's Local Interface Unit(LIU) is out of oder. For the purpose of Precision Train Stop, Distance-to-go signal system require accuracy speed. Free-axle structure is required for this system This paper suggest Free-axle braking system that lack of brake-force is compensated by the distributed brake-force using TCMS. And one of braking system has out of order, compensation of brake-force for Free-axle system. Then we prove our design to Complete Car Test

  • This paper describes the development of the CDMA mobile station to support non-speech, mobile office services such as data, fax, and short message service in addition to voice. We developed some important functions of layer 2 and layer 3. To provide non-speech services, we developed a terminal adapter and user interface software. The description of development process, software architecture and external interfaces required to provide such services is given. The description of a TTA-62 message analysis tool, a mobile station monitoring software, and an automatic test system developed for integration tests and performance measurements is also given.

  • Necessarily, it is required to analyze interfacial mechanism between tire and road for understanding tire wear, vehicle tracking and breaking. Therefore, there have been some efforts to measure 3-axis pressure and 2-axis displacement on tire road interface. But it was so hard to couple precisely measuring sensor and desired point on tire tread pattern block that it was impossible to analyze the mechanism on commercial tire with tread pattern. To overcome such a problem, a on-line measurement system is proposed in this paper. And an automatic control system is designed to test the tire with similar configuration of real vehicle driving.

  • This paper presents the design and measurement of a flight model for a Ku-Band Linearized Channel Amplifier. All MMICs, Variable Gain Amplifier (VGA), Variable Voltage Attenuator ('.IVA), Branch line Coupler and Detector for Pre-distorter are fabricated using a Thin-Film Hybrid process. The performance of the fabricated module is verified through the radio frequency circuit simulation tool and electrical function test in space environment.

  • A monitoring system for a field magnetometer was configured with assistance of a Raspberry Pi as a data logger. The suggested geomagnetic system uses a semi-real-time data transmission module. The system consists of two parts: a field-observation part and a data-center part. The field-observation part comprises a Raspberry Pi, magnetometer, LTE router, and power source, while the data center part takes samples at the site. The collected magnetometer data are then sent to the data center through the LTE router. The newly designed monitoring system was deployed and checked in Jeju-do island, and found to operate stably. The suggested system is promising in that it is simple and cost saving, providing at least physical insight and knowledge on the complex natural phenomena.

  • A total solar eclipse occurs on March 9 along the path through Indonesia and the Pacific. KASI organized an expedition team for total solar eclipse observation. The main purpose of this observation is to test the coronal temperature and outflow velocity diagnostics based on filter observation, which is proposed for the next generation coronagraph. In addition, various white light observations including automatic programmed observation, manual observation, linear polarization, and time-lapse movie will be tried. We report the preliminary result of the expedition.

  • The purpose of this study if to prevent dangerous accident of the overthrow of the tower crane in summer's hurricane. We develop the SMS in order to give automatic alarm system to operator within the dangerous range and to give a information of the exactly slope in the real time. The slope value of the tower crane is compose of direction, pitch by the front and rear, roll by the right and left and synthesis by the its pitch and roll. Especially, the synthesis eliminate the effect of the wall tie or wire bracing. So, this value should correctly indicate the actual slope. In this study, more applying field test should be applied with the SMS. In the future, a more measurement device can be applied to, and be able to feed more alarm criteria for the review of the risk in the field.
