The demands for robotic and automatic system are continually increasing in manufacturing fields. There have been many studies to monitor and predict the system, but they have mainly focused upon measuring cutting force, and current of motor spindle, and upon using acoustic sensor, etc. In this study, time series sequence of cutting force was acquired by taking advantage of piezoelectric type tool dynamometer. Radial cutting force was obtained from it and was available for useful observation data. The parameter was estimated using PAA(parameter adaptation algorithm) from observation data. ARMA(auto regressive moving average) model was selected for system model and second order was decided according to parameter estimation. Uncorrelation test was also carried out to verify convergence of parameter.
We extracted narrow open water streams from JERS-1 SAR images of the Amazon rain forest. The extracted range of these streams were almost comparable to a high level extraction of the same streams from near-IR images of JERS-1 VNIR data notwithstanding that these features in SAR images show the strong dependence of the observation angle. Large water bodies are relatively easy to extract from JERS-1 SAR images, as they tend to appear as very dark areas; but streams whose width is nearly equal to or less than the spatial resolution no longer appear as very dark features. By using strong scatterers distributed sparsely along the radar facing sides of the streams, we can successfully estimate approximate ranges of waterways and then extract relatively dark line-like features within these ranges.

A monitoring system for a field magnetometer was configured with assistance of a Raspberry Pi as a data logger. The suggested geomagnetic system uses a semi-real-time data transmission module. The system consists of two parts: a field-observation part and a data-center part. The field-observation part comprises a Raspberry Pi, magnetometer, LTE router, and power source, while the data center part takes samples at the site. The collected magnetometer data are then sent to the data center through the LTE router. The newly designed monitoring system was deployed and checked in Jeju-do island, and found to operate stably. The suggested system is promising in that it is simple and cost saving, providing at least physical insight and knowledge on the complex natural phenomena.

The demands for robotic and automatic system are continually increasing in manufacturing fields. There were so many studies to monitor and predict system, but it were mainly relied upon measuring of cutting force, current of motor spindle and using acoustic sensor, etc. In this study digital image of time series sequence was acquired taking advantage of optical technique. Then, mean square error was obtained from it and was available for useful observation data. The parameter was estimated using PAA(parameter adaptation algorithm) from observation data. AR model was selected for system model, fifth order was decided according to parameter estimation. Uncorrelation test was also carried out to verify convergence of parameter. Through the proceedings, we found there was a system stability.
Computer simulation and magnetic resonance angiograms(MRAs) are used to understand for flow patterns in the carotid arterial bifurcation. Steady momentum equation is solved by the finite volume method. A Phantom of the carotid artery made of bioacrylic material is used for MRA observation. Flow Patterns are observed by using MRA for flow in the phantom of an automatic closed-type circulatory system filled with sugar 4 w% solution. For numerical analysis the idealized geometric shape of the carotid artery is constructed to portray the phantom. Results of numerical analysis are compared with those of MRA. The flow patterns of the phantom on MRA are almost identical to those of the computer simulation.
The fundamental frequency of a vowel is known to be affected by the identity of the preceding consonant. The general agreement is that strong consonants trigger higher F0 than weak consonants. However, there has been a disagreement on the shape of this segmentally affected F0 contours. Some studies report that shapes of contours are differentiated based on the consonant type, but others regard this observation as misleading. This research attempts to resolve this controversy by investigating shapes and slopes of F0 contours of Korean word level speech data produced by four male speakers. Instead of entirely relying on traditional human intuition and judgment, I employed an automatic F0 contour analysis technique known as tilt parameterisation (Taylor 2000). After necessary manipulation of an F0 contour of each data token, various parameters are collapsed into a single tilt value which directly indicates the shape of the contour. The result, in terms of statistical inference, shows that it is not viable to conclude that the type of consonant is significantly related to the shape of F0 contour. A supplementary measurement is also made to see if the slope of each contour bears meaningful information. Unlike shapes themselves, slopes are suspected to be practically more practical for consonantal differentiation, although confirmation is required through further refined experiments.
In this paper, we describes a system that extracts important sentences from Korean newspaper articles using automatic paragraphing. First, we detect repeated words between sentences. Through observation of the repeated words, this system compute Closeness Degree between Sentences(CDS ) from the degree of morphological agreement and the change of grammatical role. And then, it automatically divides a document into meaningful paragraphs using the number of paragraph defined by the user´s need. Finally. it selects one representative sentence from each paragraph and it generates summary using representative sentences. Though our system doesn´t utilize some features such as title, sentence position, rhetorical structure, etc., it is able to extract meaningful sentences to be included in the summary.
We plan to automatize the operation of Kyung Hee Astronomical Observatory (KHAO) 76 cm Telescope by adapting KAOS30 (KHU Automatic Observing Software for McDonald 30 inch Telescope). The software is developed to improve the efficiency of the observation system for monitoring transients and variable sources. It has installed and operated at McDonald 30 inch telescope since 2017 August. KAOS76 (KHU Automatic Observing Software for KHAO 76 cm Telescope) consists of four packages: Telescope Control Package (TCP), Data Acquisition Package (DAP), Auto Focus Package (AFP), and Script Mode Package (SMP). Most of the packages can be configured by minimized modifications of the codes because it includes common libraries for FLI instruments and also ASCOM standard. TCP, DAP, and AFP control astronomical devices. SMP supports automatic observing in a script mode. TCP of KAOS76 can communicate with the TCS via ASCOM. Also, KAOS76 has an extra function to compensate the misalignment of the polar axis. In this poster, we show the current status of the observing system with KAOS76.

The observation of transient objects such as supernovae or variable stars requires a survey of the wide sky and quickly extracting the results. In accordance with this purpose, we have been developing an automatic observing software, KAOS (Kyung Hee University Automatic Observing Software) as a series. KAOS30 was the first series of KAOS and it was applied to the 30-inch platform at the McDonald Observatory in the United States of America. KAOS76 controls the 76-cm telescope at Kyung Hee Astronomical Observatory. In this poster, we introduce KAOS10 for controlling a portable telescope with a small aperture size attaching a guiding camera as QHY-5L II. Kyung Hee University auto-guiding package which includes the auto-guiding function for small aperture size telescope was also developed. Additionally, the Telescope Control Package(TCP) can communicate with the main server to do astrometry for pointing and identifying targets efficiently. KAOS10 has a universal interface that will be useful for the research of both amateurs and professionals.
