  • Today, automobile world market is highly competitive. In order to strengthen the competitiveness, quality of automobile is recognized as important and efforts are being made to improve the quality of manufactured components. The directional ability of automobile has influenced on driver directly and hence it must be solved on the preferential basis. In the present research an automated vision system has been developed th inspect the front chassis module. To interpret the inspection data obtained for front chassis module, new interpreting algorithm have been developed. Previously the control of tolerance front chassis module was done manually. With the help of the new algorithm developed, the dimension is calculated automatically to check whether the front chassis module is within the tolerance limit or not.

  • It is bringing out the importance of automated LCD testing equipment that satisfy a definite quality, confidence and testing speed, as LCD enterprises are recently expanding the production and facility investment in proportion to the sudden increase of LCD demand. So far, LCD inspection is however conducted by manual, or the confidence of existing testing equipment falls short of LCD enterprises's standard. It is therefore important to develop the testing equipment that determines the quality of product for production of an excellent LCD.

  • The purpose of this paper is the development of an automated measurement system for micro spring based on the digital image processing technique. This micro spring can be used in various engineering applications such as filament, load bearing springs, hard disk suspension and many others. Main functionality of the micro spring inspection system is to measure the representative pitch of the micro spring. The derivative operators are used for edge detection in gray level image. Measurement system developed in this paper consisted of new auto feeding mechanism to take advantage of air pressure. In the process of development of the micro spring inspection system based on the image processing and analysis, strong background technology and know-how have been accumulated to measure micro mechanical parts.

  • This paper presents adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference based defect detection method for various defect types, such as micro-crack, fingerprint and contamination, in heterogeneously textured surface of polycrystalline solar wafers. Polycrystalline solar wafer consists of various crystals so the surface of solar wafer shows heterogeneously textures. Because of this property the visual inspection of defects is very difficult. In the proposed method, we use local binary feature and fuzzy reasoning for defect detection. Experimental results show that our proposed method achieves a detection rate of 80%~100%, a missing rate of 0%~20% and an over detection (overkill) rate of 9%~21%.

  • Automatic inspection system software for display image characteristic of CRT is developed. There are two major contributions of this software development. One is that the data from measuring equipments which was usually collected manually is automatically collected through RS-232C port and is saved in computer, then, trend analysis graph and final reports are generated. The other is that evauation of characteristic of electron gun was automatically processed by CCD camera and image processing technique. The system is developed under MS-Windows environment utilizing Borland C++4.0 Compiler and DT 3852-8 image processor board. This system can save the time and man power to measure and to anayze the image characteristics relative to current method.

  • 본 연구는 와이어 하네스의 불량 여부를 정확하고 빠르게 감지하기 위해 컴퓨터 비전을 활용하여 압착된 단자의 길이, 단자 끝단 치수(너비), 압착된 부분의 폭(와이어부, 심선부)의 6가지 측정값을 계산하는 것을 목표로 한다. 단자 영역별 특징과 배경과 객체 간 음영 차이를 이용하여 기준점을 생성함으로써 값들을 추출하였다. 최종적으로 각 측정 유형별로 99.1%, 98.7%, 92.6%, 92.5%, 99.9%, 99.7% 정확도를 달성하였으며, 모든 측정값에서 평균 97%의 정확도로 우수한 결과를 얻었다.

  • The tire manufacturing process demands classification of tire types when the tires are transferred between the inner processes. Though most processes are being well automated, the classification relies greatly upon the visual inspection of humen. This has been an obstacle to the factory automation of tire manufacturing companies. This paper proposes an effective vision systems which can be usefully applied to the tire classification process in real time. The system adopts a parallel architecture using multiple transputers and contains the algorithms of preprocesssing for character recognition. The system can be easily expandable to manipulate the large data that can be processed seperately.

  • This paper presents a statistical process control(SPC) system in the electronic parts manufacturing process. In this system, an SPC method is integrated into the automated inspection technology on a real time base. It shows how the collected data can be analyzed with the SPC to provide process information. also presented are stuided of subpixel image processing technology to improve the accuracy of parts mearements , and the cumulative-sum(CUSUM) control chart for fraction defectives.An application of the developed system to connector manufacturing process as a part of computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) is presented.

  • PDP 섀시는 우리나라의 핵심 제품중의 하나인 POP의 부품으로 특정 공장에서 한 달에 수만 개 이상을 생산하고 있다. 섀시에 포함된 홀, 탭홀, 스터드, 리벳의 유무를 검사하는데 모든 제품에 대한 전수검사가 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 컴퓨터 비젼 기술을 이용한 POP 섀시 자동 시각 검사 시스템을 설계 구현하였고 이를 산업체에서 적용한 결과 신속하고 정확한 100% 검사가 가능함을 보였다.

  • In this paper, a method for measuring image pattern widths is proposed using gaussian interpolation, in order to improve inconsistent results coming from the different directions in image patterns. The performance of our method is evaluated using image patterns with 9 directions, and compared with previous methods. It is confirmed that the proposed method gives accurate and consistent width results regardless of pattern directions.
