Users' Adoption of a Convergent Service: A Case of Interactive TV-based Auction Service (T-auction)

  • This paper Introduces an electronic auction service to be provided on Interactive TV (T-auction). This converged service is expected to much enhance the quality of the service to current online auction users through vivid visualization and live Interactive experience. Our study focuses on how the characteristics of the interactive TV-based shopping platform can affect users' attitudes towards the converged service. To develop our proposed research model, we extended the technology acceptance model and integrated it with a hedonic factor, or perceived enjoyment to reflect the dual characteristics of the converged system. We also adopted the variable of intermediary trust In the service as a critical mediating determinant for a successful commutations-mediated commerce. The research model was verified with an empirical study conducted on 970 Korean online auction users. Results show that both trust and perceived usefulness positively affect user adoption of the service. Trust had not only a direct effect on users' attitudes toward T-auction but also an indirect one by mediating the service quality, information quality, perceived enjoyment and ease of use. Meanwhile, the hedonic factor of T-auction contributes to increasing both the level of the intermediary's trust and its perceived usefulness. Users' enjoyment also was found to help form a positive attitude toward T-auction services. Theoretical and practical implications of this study for current e-auction service providers and potential t-auction service providers are also discussed.

Study on Clothing Life of Korea-Vietnam Multicultural Families - Focus on clothing behaviors and attitudes toward traditional dresses - (베트남 다문화가정 의생활 실태조사 - 의복행동과 전통복식 태도를 중심으로 -)

  • This research is designed to provide basic data to study the life and culture of multicultural families in Korea by taking a look at the clothing behaviors and attitudes toward traditional dresses. To this end, quantitative research was conducted on Korea-Vietnam multicultural families and Korean families. The surveys of the Korean families were completed by 250 married women in Seoul, and those of Korea-Vietnam multicultural families by 104 married Vietnamese women living in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do and Incheon. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis, factor analysis, t-test, crosstabs and ${\chi}^2$-test. The findings are as follows: First, the comparison of clothing behaviors of the Korean families and the Korea-Vietnam multicultural families found that they had statistically significant differences in values towards clothes, clothes shopping orientation and clothes purchasing behaviors. The Korean women were more involved in clothes and fashion-oriented than their Vietnamese counterparts. However, the Vietnamese women in their 20s were likely to rely more on social trends than their own needs when purchasing clothes compared to their Korean counterparts. Korean families preferred to shop in department stores, while the multicultural families relied more on discount stores and outlets. Second, the comparison of the Korean families and the Korea-Vietnam families in attitudes toward their own traditional dresses and how often to wear them showed statistically meaningful differences. The Korean group had more negative attitudes toward Hanbok, the Korean traditional dresses than the Vietnamese group. The Vietnamese women showed more interest in information on Hanbok than their Korean counterparts. They also were wearing the Korean traditional dresses more often than the Korean families. In addition, the Vietnamese women showed a stronger tendency than the Korean women that they took pride in their country's traditional dresses and believed that they were beautiful.

  • The escape theory is the theory of problem behavior such as suicide. The purpose of this study is to investigate the causes of gaming disorder, which has been attracting attention as a typical youth problem, through escape theory. Suicide theory is a process in which the problem triggered by the negative external environment flows into internal attribution and self-criticism, and this leads to a process leading to problematic behavior with disgust self-awareness. This process was applied to the environment, psychology, and behavior of adolescents. As a result, the lack of affection and consistency of the parents resulted in negative external environment, which affected the self-esteem of children by creating a negative external environment. And low self-esteem caused negative emotions, lowered self control, and confirmed to induce game addiction. The results of this analysis show that game addiction has a structure similar to obsessive behaviors such as binge eating and shopping addiction explained through the escape theory model and it is necessary to concentrate more on the environmental psychological factors for game addiction research.

Effects of Perceived Quality on Consumers' Intention to Use O2O Services: Focusing on Technology Acceptance Model Perspective (O2O서비스에 대한 지각된 품질이 소비자들의 O2O서비스 사용 의도에 미치는 영향: 기술수용모델 관점에서의 접근)

  • With the development of IT technology, consumers' shopping behaviors have diversified, and O2O services that remove the boundary between online and offline are increasing. With the development of O2O services, it is bringing about new changes in offline retailers that are facing limitations against the continuous growth of online. Drawing upon Technology Acceptance Model, this study investigates the effect of service quality perceived by O2O service users on consumers' intention to use O2O services. The result confirmed that the perceived quality, an external variable, affects the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, which are the main variables of the Technology Acceptance Model, and the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use in turn have a significant effect on attitude and behavioral intention. In particular, it was found that the higher the perceived ease of use of the user, the higher the perceived usefulness and positive influence on the attitude. The results of this study suggest that in order to increase the utilization of O2O service by users, it is necessary to highlight the perceived quality of service and at the same time manage convenience and usefulness. This is expected to provide meaningful directions for companies attempting to advance O2O services.

Enhanced Recommendation Algorithm using Semantic Collaborative Filtering: E-commerce Portal (전자상거래 포탈을 위한 시맨틱 협업 필터링을 이용한 확장된 추천 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes a semantic recommendation technique for a personalized e-commerce portal. Semantic recommendation is achieved by utilizing the attributes of products. The semantic similarity of the products is merged with the rating information of the products to provide an accurate recommendation. The recommendation technique also analyzes various attitudes of the customer to evaluate the implicit rating of products. Attitudes are classifies into three types such as "purchasing product", "adding product to shopping cart", and "viewing the product information." We implicitly track customer attitude to estimate the rating of products for recommending products. Also we implement a session validation process to identify the valid sessions that are highly important for giving an accurate recommendation. Our recommendation technique shows a high degree of accuracy as we use age groupings of customers with similar preferences. The experimental section shows that our proposed recommendation method outperforms well known collaborative filtering methods not only for the existing customer, but also for the new user with no previous purchase record.

Factors Influencing the Consumer Attitude toward Product Purchasing Related to Chinese Personal Internet Broadcasting Wang Hong (인터넷 개인 방송 왕홍을 통한 제품 구매와 관련된 중국 소비자 태도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study investigates Chinese consumers who have recently purchased products through internet personal broadcasting of Wang Hong and explores how factors related to Wang Hong, broadcasting contents, and products affect purchasing satisfaction of consumers. The present study also examines whether this satisfaction affects the consumer loyalty to the shopping through the Wang Hong in the future. The results indicated that consumers' perception of the informational level rather than entertainment level of broadcasting contents had significant effects on the product satisfaction. The perceived uniqueness and credibility of Wang Hong were found to have positive impacts. In terms of products, the more consumers perceived the product to fit their images or values, and the higher the fit between the images of Wang Hong and the endorsed product, the higher the satisfaction with the product. Product satisfaction increased the customer loyalty, including the intention of repurchasing products endorsed by the Wang Hong.

  • Since a smart phone has been popular, 91% of the internet users are utilizing the technology in all places for chatting and messenger which overtake share of voice and visual call utilization. The phenomenon is remarkable to young generations between teenager and thirties, which leads to mobile messenger shopping such as mobile digital voucher and coupon buy. In this research, we clarify whether traditional gift-giving motivations works on digital coupon gift-giving, and two technology acceptance model factors: perceived usefulness and ease of use affects between motivations and intention to gift-giving. The result shows three traditional gift-giving motivations: experiential, obligated and practical attitude affects intention to digital mobile coupon gift-giving and ease of use of the digital mobile coupon works parameter of the relation rather than usefulness. In other words, gift-giving purpose digital coupon users give a gift with traditional gift-giving motivation but has the stronger intetnion to gift-giving by technology ease of use.

  • 3D data are in great demand for pedestrian navigation recently. For pedestrian navigation, we needs to reconstruct 3D model in detail from people's eye. In order to present spatial features in detail for pedestrian navigation, it is indispensable to develop 3D model not only in outdoor environment but also in indoor environment such as underground shopping complex. However, it is very difficult to acquire 3D data efficiently by mobile mapping without GPS. In this research, 3D shape was acquired by Laser scanner, and texture by CCD(Charge Coupled Device) sensor. Continuous changes position and attitude of sensors were measured by IMU(Inertial Measurement Unit). Moreover, IMU was corrected by relative orientation of CCD images without GPS(Global Positioning System). In conclusion, Reliable, quick, and handy method for acquiring 3D data for indoor environment is proposed by a combination of a digital camera and a laser scanner with IMU.

  • This research is an empirical research of Chinese OTT Audiences on the effects of advertising model attributes on consumers' advertising perception, purchase intention, Flow and addiction. Recently, as the cosmetics market in China has grown, the role of advertising models has been highlighted, and shopping addiction caused by excessive Flow is becoming a social problem. Researchers set up a research model and tried to test which characteristics of the advertising model lead consumers to purchase, Flow and ultimately lead to addiction. Results are as follows. It was confirmed that advertisement model attributes such as recognition and attractiveness had a positive effect on viewers' advertising perception and attitude, and viewers' perceived usefulness had a positive effect on purchase intention and Flow. In addition, the purchase intention of the viewers had a positive effect on the addiction to cosmetics.

An Improved Personalized Recommendation Technique for E-Commerce Portal (E-Commerce 포탈에서 향상된 개인화 추천 기법)

  • This paper proposes an enhanced recommendation technique for personalized e-commerce portal analyzing various attitudes of customer. The attitudes are classifies into three types such as "purchasing product", "adding product to shopping cart", and "viewing the product information". We implicitly track customer attitude to estimate the rating of products for recommending products. We classified user groups which have similar preference for each item using implicit user behavior. The preference similarity is estimated using the Cross Correlation Coefficient. Our recommendation technique shows a high degree of accuracy as we use age and gender to group the customers with similar preference. In the experimental section, we show that our method can provide better performance than other traditional recommender system in terms of accuracy.
