The water vapor including latent heat is the important component in an atmospheric circulation and in a monitoring of the Earth's climate changes, as well as in the weather forecast improvement. In this study, to establish the Algerian weighted mean temperature model, a linear regression method had been developed under 5 radiosonde observations for a total 24,694 profiles from 2004 to 2013. An weighted mean temperature is a key parameter in the processing of PWV from GNSS tropospheric delays. The result from the study has expected to provide an useful model to demonstrate the realization and utility of using the ground-based GNSS meteorology technique that will bring improvements in weather forecasting, climate monitoring in Algeria.

In this paper, we described the statistical modeling of crop yields using satellite images, climatic datasets, soil property maps, and fertilizer data for the Midwestern United States during 2001-2012. Satellite images were obtained from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), and climatic datasets were provided by the Parameter-elevation Regressions on Independent Slopes Model (PRISM) Climate Group. Soil property maps were derived from the Harmonized World Soil Database (HWSD). Our multivariate regression models produced quite good prediction accuracies, with differences of approximately 8-15% from the governmental statistics of corn and soybean yields. The unfavorable conditions of climate and vegetation in 2012 could have resulted in a decrease in yields according to the regression models, but the actual yields were greater than predicted. It can be interpreted that factors other than climate, vegetation, soil, and fertilizer may be involved in the negative biases. Also, we found that soybean yield was more affected by minimum temperature conditions while corn yield was more associated with photosynthetic activities. These two crops can have different potential impacts regarding climate change, and it is important to quantify the degree of the crop sensitivities to climatic variations to help adaptation by humans. Considering the yield decreases during the drought event, we can assume that climatic effect may be stronger than human adaptive capacity. Thus, further studies are demanded particularly by enhancing the data regarding human activities such as tillage, fertilization, irrigation, and comprehensive agricultural technologies.

Effect of boundary layer thickness on the flow characteristics around a rectangular prism has been investigated by using a PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) technique. Three different boundary layers(thick, medium and thin)were generated in the Atmospheric Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel at Pusan National University. The thick boundary layer having 670 mm thickness was generated by using spires and roughness elements. The medium thickness of boundary layer($\delta$=270 mm) was the natural turbulent boundary layer at the test section floor with fairly long developing length(18 m). The thin boundary layer($\delta$=36.5 mm) was generated on the smooth panel elevated 70cm from the wind tunnel floor. The Reynolds number based on the free stream velocity(3 ㎧) and the height of the model(40 mm) was 7.9$\times$10$^3$. The mean velocity vector fields and turbulent kinetic energy distributions were measured and compared. The effect of boundary layer thickness was clearly observed not only in the length of separation bubble but also in the location of reattachment point. The thinner the boundary layer thickness, the higher the turbulent kinetic energy Peak around the model roofbecame. It is strongly recommended that the height ratio between the model and the approaching boundary layer thickness should be encountered as a major parameter.
Column tests were carried out to examine the effect of surfactant solution conditions on the surfactant-enhanced remediation of soil columns contaminated by toluene. The conditioned parameters of the surfactant solution for the column tests were concentration, pH, temperature and flow rate. The test results revealed that an optimum condition was achieved for 4% (v/v) of concentration, 10 of pH, $20^{\circ}C$ of temperature and 4 mL/min of flow rate respectively. The removal of 95% of toluene was obtained when optimal conditions of each surfactant solution parameter were simultaneously met. This was a marked improvement and removal efficiency increased by 6-19% compared to that with unadjusted conditions. The optimum range of these parameters may be useful for a surfactant-based remediation in the aquifer contaminated by toluene.
The esterification of alcohols with acetic acid, lactic acid and citric acid was carried out in batch during the second distillation. Effect of various parameters, e.g. pH of reactant base spirit, temperature of distillation, time of distillation were studied. The parameter of distillation temperature was modified by atmospheric distillation and pressure distillation. The pressure(1.9 atm.) distillation was used in order to react and distill at high temperature. Compared with the base spirit concentration, ethyl acetate, ethyl lactate and iso-amyl acetate in esterification distillate increased by 2,890%, 6,410% and 52%, respectively. Major factors of the esterification with organic acids in distilled spirit making were molecular weight of the organic acid and pH of reactant base spirit.

The vertical profiles of the extinction coefficient, the backscatter coefficient, and the lidar ratio (i.e., extinction-to-backscattering ratio) for Asian dust and pollution aerosols are determined from Raman (inelastic) and elastic backscatter signals. The values of lidar ratios during two polluted days is found between 52 and 82 sr (July 22, 2009) and 40~60 sr (July 31, 2009) at 52 nm, with relatively low value of particle depolarization ratio (<5%) and high value of sun photometer-derived Angstrom exponent (> 1.2). However, lidar ratios between 25 and 40 sr are found during two Asian dust periods (October 20, 2009 and March 15, 2010), with 10~20% of particle depolarization ratio and the relatively low value of sun photometer-derived Angstrom exponent (< 0.39). The lidar ratio, particle depolarization ratio and color ratio are useful optical parameter to distinguish non-spherical coarse dust and spherical fine pollution aerosols. The comparison of aerosol extinction profiles determined from inelastic-backscatter signals by the Raman method and from elastic-backscatter signals by using the Fernald method with constant value of lidar ratio (50 sr) have shown that reliable aerosol extinction coefficients cannot be determined from elastic-backscatter signals alone, because the lidar ratio varies with aerosol types. A combined Raman and elastic backscatter lidar system can provide reliable information about the aerosol extinction profile and the aerosol lidar ratio.
Evaportranspiration is an important factor in hydrology cycle. Traditionally, it is measured by using basin or empirical formula with meteorology data, while it does not represent the evaportranspiration over a regional area. With the advent of improved remote sensing technology, it becomes a surface parameter of research interest in the field of remote sensing. Airborne and satellite imagery are utilized in this study. The high resolution airborne images include visible, near infrared, and thermal infrared bands and the satellite images are acquired by MODIS. Surface heat fluxes such as latent heat flux and sensible heat flux are estimate by using airborne and satellite images with surface meteorological measurements. We develop a new method to estimate the evaportranspiration over the rice paddy. The surface heat fluxes are initialized with a surface energy balance concept and iterated for convergent solution with atmospheric correct functions associated with aerodynamic resistance of heat transport. Furthermore, we redistribute the total net energy into sensible heat and latent heat fluxes. The result reveals that radiation and evaporation controlled extremes can be properly decided with both airborne and satellite images. The correlation coefficient of latent heat flux and sensible heat flux with corresponding in situ observations are 0.66 and 0.76, respectively. The relative root mean squared errors (RMSEs) for latent heat flux and sensible heat flux are 97.81 $(W/m^2)$ and 124.33 $(W/m^2)$, respectively. It is also shown that the newly developed retrieval scheme performs well when it is tested by using MODIS date.

The Biosensor biosensor pattern was developed by via an EHD (electro-hydro-dynamics (EHD) patterning process that was performed under atmospheric pressure at room temperature in a single step. The drop diameter was smaller than nozzle diameter and applied high viscosity conductive ink was applied in the EHD patterning method to provide a clear advantage over the piezo and thermal inkjet printing techniques. The Biosensor's biosensor's micro electrode pattern was printed by via a continuous EHD patterning method using 3three- type types of control parameters parameter (input voltage, patterning speed, nozzle pressure). High viscosity (1000 cps) conductive ink with 75 wt% of silver nanoparticles was used for experimentation. The incremental result of impedance of biosensor impedance was measured between the antibody ($10ug{\mu}g/ml$) to spore (0.1 ng/ml, 10 ng/ml, and $1ug{\mu}g./ml$) reaction at frequency 493 MHz frequency.

While effects of the atmospheric boundary layer flow on engineering infrastructure are more or less known, some local transient winds create difficulties for structures, traffic and human activities. Hence, further research is required to fully elucidate flow characteristics of some of those very unique local winds. In this study, important characteristics of observed vertical velocity profiles along the main wind direction for the gusty Bora wind blowing along the eastern Adriatic coast are presented. Commonly used empirical power-law and the logarithmic-law profiles are compared against unique 3-level high-frequency Bora measurements. The experimental data agree well with the power-law and logarithmic-law approximations. An interesting feature observed is a decrease in the power-law exponent and aerodynamic surface roughness length, and an increase in friction velocity with increasing Bora wind velocity. This indicates an urban-like velocity profile for smaller wind velocities and rural-like velocity profile for larger wind velocities, which is due to a stronger increase in absolute velocity at each of the heights observed as compared to the respective velocity gradient (difference in average velocity among two different heights). The trends observed are similar during both the day and night. The thermal stratification is near neutral due to a strong mechanical mixing. The differences in aerodynamic surface roughness length are negligible for different time averaging periods when using the median. For the friction velocity, the arithmetic mean proved to be independent of the time record length, while for the power-law exponent both the arithmetic mean and the median are not influenced by the time averaging period. Another issue is a large difference in aerodynamic surface roughness length when calculating using the arithmetic mean and the median. This indicates that the more robust median is a more suitable parameter to determine the aerodynamic surface roughness length than the arithmetic mean value. Variations in velocity profiles at the same site during different wind periods are interesting because, in the engineering community, it has been commonly accepted that the aerodynamic characteristics at a particular site remain the same during various wind regimes.

KSR-III(Korea Sounding Rocket - III), which is being developed by Space Technology R&D Division of KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute) will be launched in late 2002. It is a three-stage, liquid propellant rocket which can reach 250 km altitude and will carry out observation of ozone layer and scientific experiments, such as microgravity experiment, and atmospheric measurement. KSR-III is believed to be an intermediate to the launch vehicle capable of carrying a satellite to its orbit. Space Test Department of KARI performed GVT(Ground Vibration Test) fer KSR-III EM at Rocket Test Building of KARI. GVT is very important for predicting the behavior of rocket in its operation, developing flight control program and performing aerodynamic analysis. This paper gives an introduction of rocket GVT configuration and information on test procedures, techniques and results of It. In this test. to simulate free-free condition, test object hung in the air laterally by 4 bungee cords specially devised. For the excitation of test object, pure random signal by two electromagnetic shakers was used and total 22 frequency response functions were achieved. Polyreference parameter estimation was performed to identify the modal parameters with MIMO(Multi-Input-Multi-Output) method. As the result of the test, low frequency mode shapes and modal parameters below 60Hz were identified
